Finally succumbed to buying cars from PSN. With my track record of abysmal DWG and lack of hours to invest in the offline game, I might never get a McLaren F1 or Hamilton's Mercedes otherwise.

The cost of the electricity used for that will probably add up to much more than a few cars purchased from PSN.

Just play the game and do some of the more enjoyable races to earn your £$£$£.
You're probably right but I don't want to think about it.

Autopolis is a circuit I am enjoying even more than I thought I would. I love how technical it is and I am even driving road cars there too which is something I never do.
I am really looking forward to taking the Dallara SF19 round here for some hotlaps.

Hopefully the inevitable career race here is more difficult than the insultingly easy Super GT event.
PD really need to add a new tier of difficulty to career.
I do 10 minute Custom Races at every track. Starting from 20th, Super GT is really good with that set up. However, I applied the current Daily Race C settings to my race with cool results.

I followed the AI using an RC F, as it was picking off cars each lap. Gets interesting trying to pass two '08 cars, cleanly, locked in a battle.

I did catch and pass it, cleanly, before the end of the race. Finished 5th.

I've just finished backing up some of my photos on my phone and came across a load taken at the Copper Box event way back in 2016, so I thought I would share.

Was a great day, in particular as I got to meet @Jordan, @daan, Kaz and a good number of other GTP members (and we discovered the origin of a certain GT cat as well - with the last photo below being that very conversation).

Is it just me, or does the Hyundai VGT (both versions) have a Michelin tire label that seemingly vanishes upon entering the livery editor and in races? It only seems to appear when viewing the car in Brand Central.

Autopolis is a strange track to me. It takes a while to 'click'... I took to it on the Ueno Clinic car and in Gr2 and Gr1 cars and its the wrong way. The corners are too sharp and the track IMO does not suit the super fast cars.

You kind of need to hit in the old and new MX5s to get to know the track. Then try N400/500s and then go to the race cars.

Yes it does feel like it lacks grip and the corners are not easy to make out. Some corners do have that crappy technical feel but there's a few corners where you can chain drift if you want to (typical Japanese drift aesthetic).

I have yet to hit the 10 lap Gr2 and 30 lap GT3 but these wont be that easy.
I find Autopolis a great fit for Gr.2. When you get upto speed there are a couple of places where you can link two corners into one sweeping turn. It ends up flowing really well and is less busy & technical than it initially seems.

Thanks for sharing all those photos and bringing back so many good memories, @Scaff. That was such a fun event! I hope they'll do more things open to the public like that in the future. We've never had so many GTPlanet members all in one place.

It was a great event and good to see and meet so many members, and quite agree it would be amazing if they could do more events like this, ideally a tour to give as many people an opportunity to attend as possible.

Yeah, the grind can suck. Sport mode payouts are tiny and you have to grind offline against awful AI to get cars worth millions. I only just got the merc f1 car too.

think I have sat on 18 - 20 mill for ages because I know as soon as I spend it. Its gonna take an absolute age to earn back! ... Be nice if you could sell the duplicate prize cars.

Yesterday my daily workout had the Shelby Daytona, mark 1 Ford gt40, and some other gr3 cars I have 10 of already.

Of course I won the Gr3 that I have 10 of. :banghead:
