Now that PD have a had a few years to see what real GT3, GT4 and TCR cars are currently available, I'm wondering if they'll ditch many of the fantasy versions and model the official cars.

I don't see why, they're cool
I'm not against them. Just the same we don't have certain RM cars like the new Challenger, Camaro(a GT3 version was homologated years ago, still races in Australian GT), etc., could have fit Gr.3. Just wondering with a new game, PD look to have ditched many cars from GT6.

Given they have outside help modelling cars, one may think all cars from GT Sport may be in the next game. Might not be the case. However, there is a case to replace the Gr.4 M4/SLS/Mustang/650S with the official GT4 cars. There is no replacement for a Gr.3 VW, as no GT3 VW exists(Porsche not included). So, I see those type models remaining.

They'll probably carry over all the cars from this game to the next, so they likely won't drop them anyway

Agreed.

Also, replace the Corvette or add the Camaro GT4. We also need the Alpine and the Audi R8...

And while I am in here, we've always needed and still need the option to have a rear view mirror for the hood/roof view.

imma keep it real with you guys, but i'm really starting to think that GTS would really benefit from vehicle subcategories.

Who else expects more options for custom races? Sport mode races in general could use more variety i.e: Race a and b are the same race run in the same lobby but in different categories.
Also it's as if with every FIA big event the game gets marginally better and better, so i wouldn't be as surprised if they 'd snuck something new in the next few events.

I think they should keep the current system, but have "sub-rules" for car selection. And these rules could be replicated in the lobbies. You could have a Gr.1 race, but limited to the Group C prototypes within the class, or an N500 race where you can only use the made-for-game homologation specials.

When creating your own "sub-rules," you can pick the cars yourself from the cars you already own, and other players will be able to use their own car. You'd also be able to save/share these rules much like how you can save/share rules you see in other lobby races.

And finally, I think it'd be better if we had more Daily/Weekly Races to pick from in general. Perhaps five? Better yet, I wouldn't mind having five races that are lap-based, and then another five that are time-based.

By default, I'd have fuel/tire wear be at 1x, as it'd likely deplete by a negligible value in most races. I'd also have damage set to light to further encourage clean racing, and drafting set to "real," as well as the traction for being off-road.

None of those cars are carburated so it won't make any difference.
I thought you were talking about cars that bounce off of the rev limiter, at top speed. Didn't they change that in a recent update, so your speed doesn't yo-yo anymore when you're at the max?

It was only changed for carburated cars, as that's how they function in real life. Electronically fuel-injected cars don't do that because they have electronic cutoffs.

Now you're confusing me, because it was a really annoying problem for me in the Gr.1 Mazda LM55 at Lemans. That thing is carbureted?

Did you guy see this information on YouTube description on gran turismo channel ? Or it just me ? They use cad data from car manufacturer and they make simulation easy to drive and be realistic for the player. Did they just dumb down the physics in purpose ?

ABOUT GRAN TURISMO SPORT: Excluding the CAD data used by automobile makers for their manufacturing, the 3D models created for the game are the highest quality, highest precision models in the world. From the curves of the body, edges, spacing between body panels to the headlights and turn signals, every detail of the car has been precisely recreated. From popular real life race circuits, oval tracks, dirt tracks set in nature and an urban expressway based on public roads, a large variety of tracks have been provided in game. The True HDR workflow has enabled the recreation of light and colors that is true to nature, and it is possible to drive the tracks in a large variety of daylight and sky conditions. In parallel to the development of its vehicle physics simulation, Gran Turismo has performed technical support for cars racing in the real life Nürburgring 24 hour race as well as the LMP1 class of the Le Mans 24 hour race. Gran Turismo Sport is equipped with the latest vehicle physics simulation that includes knowledge gained from both the real and the virtual. A physics simulation that is ‘easy to drive because it is realistic’ has been achieved.

Didn’t want to start a whole new thread for this but has anyone else noticed (or is it just me) that errors loading GT Sport website seem to becoming more frequent? Is it a symptom of all the liveries and decals?

FYI I don’t mean maintenance!

I have the feeling I have this more frequently on mobile... But I get what you mean. Just tested5 minutes ago and again no problem on the laptop but an error on mobile (dutch language):
