Gran Turismo Sport Will Get Formula E Cars According to Kazunori Yamauchi

They're speaking in a language most people can relate to. It's like any series. Some will like it and some will dislike it. FE are building a fan base. Getting it in people's homes, in a PlayStation game, is brilliant.

At least the series are trying new ways, to make drivers and teams think. If that means simplifying the explainatiom, as Mario Kart type, so be it. There are a young generation, that will probably see more EVs on the road in the coming years.

Hm... I could be very wrong here, but, I was just watching the replay of the shakedown session, and in the clip they showed to explain the attack mode feature, there was a bit of footage that showed a corner with what looked like a race line on it, which looked a lot like the race line option in GTsport....

Could be completely wrong though

Maybe PD add these in the ME

I am surprised to PD negotiate contractual agreements with sportive competitions. These agreements involving PD are always rickety and palliative.

It was like Nascar, for example. I would bet PD will bring one or two cars at the most. No official circuits!

It's the PD!

Personally, I think Formula E sucks!

I would rather bring two or three cars from SUPER FORMULA (Formula Japan). And a few more Japanese circuits, like Sugo, Motegi, Autopolis, Tokachi, Okayama, anyway. Infinitely more fun and interesting.

But Super Fomula is not the FIA. Today PD has good relationships with the FIA. The FIA also wants help! Help to promote FORMULA E.

Unfortunately!

If I dream, I would like DP to try to sign a contract in 2020. The goal was to license the new WEC hypercars modalities. But I doubt it!

Turn10, or Kunos, or SMS, should already be negotiating the licensing of the WEC-hypercars of the 2020-2021 season.

Meanwhile, PD and Kaz are joking to create toy cars (VGT). And, of course, not forgetting, remastering the GT6 and GT5 cars.

The gloves and camera shacking effect seems a lot GT Sport. Of course there are no proper shadows but it could be a temporary thing.

The visuals look unfinished,it's the camera movement inside the cockpit and the hands placement that are similar to GT.

No, you see that same placement on games like rF2 and PC2 as well as AC pro...but yeah totally GTS limited type thing. Some times you guys really enjoy chasing ghosts.

This doesn't look like GT at all. It looks more like rFactor or iRacing.

I agree with this, other than iRacing part, the graphics aren't that consistent nor do you get a cockpit view with a driver unless that changed recently.

So does Super GT, that's not the FIA thing, so practically we still have hope especially both is Japanese.
And yes, I agree with you about promote FE because they need it really need that at this point. You can't waste Manufacture flood anyway

The attack mode fan boost Mario Kart Facebook like nonsense is unbelievable.

I cant accept this.

I think Fan Boost is far worse, as it is simply a popularity contest not driving skill.

At least with attack mode drivers make a tactical choice to go off the racing line to pick up a boost.

If I had my way the cars would float and people would have weapons so this is at least one step closer, but then I've always loved WipeOut. There are plenty of other racing series that are serious, one that has yet to establish a solid reputation can try gimmicks like these and keep them if they work. Whatever makes for the most exciting races.

The mosquito sound from a formule E oooo boy, they call it progress they can have it . :boggled: :indiff:

The sound of music in your ears Formula 1 :D :cheers:

Best comment ever

EV's are cancer

I give up... reality has taken a back seat to orthodoxy. Let me reiterate:

When you race on a console, you don't use any gas! No matter what car you drive!

So there is no need to emulate a series that is being run to showcase not using gasoline... You are already running the most green way to race there is.

Formula E cars are slow, nasty whiny abominations. And completely unnecessary in an environment where today's F1 Championship-winning car or Senna's F1 car, or a 60's F1 car all use ZERO gasoline.

They may be a necessary evil in the real world. But utterly superfluous in the gaming world.

GTS... The real dentist drill simulator!

Truer words have never been spoken. Up until the part you mentioned Formula E's being necessary in the real world. They're not even remotely necessary. Race cars don't do a fraction of the pollution that the trucks and planes that transport them do. Want to save the environment??? Make those electric. No need to ruin motorsports with an idiotic publicity stunt like Formula E.

No F1 Haas, No Renault, No Ferrari, No RedBull, No Force India.....etc

But he talking about formula E. Try puttin more than 1 F1 car in the game first. Just like there is 1 truck in the game.....smh....

Something called licensing, as Codemasters currently hold the rights to have the official F1 grid themselves, hence why no other game has a full grid of modern Formula One cars. As a result, it's the reason GTS has only one F1 car in the shape of the '17 W08 Merc, and in Forza 7 the Renault R.S.17.

Besides, it can't be cheap and easy to attain licensing for Formula One, only have to look at both the F2007 and F10 Ferrari's which never returned, with the F10 only appearing for GT5. Long story short, unless your Codemasters, obtaining the licensing for a modern F1 car isn't easy.

Think we got an F1 Ferrari in GT5P as well. Was it 5 mil or 10mil? All I remember is, crazy grinding for one of each colour and number.

Yup, the Ferrari F2007, appeared in GTPSP, GT5P and GT5, and yea I don't remember it being cheap one in GT5 either. Was lucky enough to get the Formula GT for my Lvl.24 ticket .

2 million.

The catch is that the credit cap is 2 million and you'll grind the event where you drive Mines GTR for atleast 2 laps at Daytona Speedway and set a laptime under certain time (47 seconds if I remembered). Each time earns you 78.000 credits.

Draw that parallel with BMB grinding on GTSport as you wish.

Don't really care for an F1 car in the game. Never really get to use it and getting licences I assume is probably ridiculous. I would much rather have an Indy Car anyway.

I will play the F1 games for the F1 car experience.

So when does Formula E plan to step up to big boy tires? Currently their rules require them to use street tires that would classify in GTS as sport hard, or more likely, comfort soft.

That isn't correct. You're just making stuff up as hyperbole. Even the Season 1 Formula E cars and their limited rate of energy at the time are quicker. You clearly haven't bothered to watch Formula E properly.

First gen Formula E cars put out about 180-200 hp in race spec, and weigh about 2000 lbs. And run on (not even aggressive) street car tires. But...I didn't realize spec Miatas weighed 2300-2400 lb. Thought they were lighter. And FEs have the benefit of more aero. So I admit I was wrong.

Still sounds boring as hell though

They’re actually purposely for racing designed Michelin Pilot Sport tires that can be used in both dry and wet conditions. They don’t provide much grip, but that’s by design. If you’d compare it to the tires available in GTsport, it would be more like the sport soft / racing hard (but with the thread pattern on them) tires.

I think it would be like with the Audi VGT, the thread pattern is always on, no matter which tire you put on the car.

Sport tyres are underused in sport mode. There are a lot of lower powered cars that are fun to drive with low grip tyres that are neglected by sport mode. GT5 Shuffle Racing thrived with cars fitting this category.

If you were doing something that looked authentic for Formula E in GT sport you'd need a street circuit that has lots of 90 degree corners. Let's hope PD can come up with a decent fantasy circuit for this.

They were used for most Sport Mode N-class races though.
