Where do you activate the toggle option?
What do you mean? DRS activates when you press the button, and deactivates when you don't (or when you exceed certain steering angles, or throttle position decreases from maximum).

You seem to have a button mapped for it, per your comment about your hand hurting from holding it, so it should work just fine.

Toggle on/off = press button to open/ press button to close. Without the need to constantly hold down the button.
Would be a very handy option, but pd doesn’t, generally, like to give options to players.

That's not how DRS works though. The car's DRS operates exactly like the car's DRS does: it's on when you press the button and within certain input parameters, and off at all other times.

It's not zone-locked, use-limited, or gap-dependant like the real thing though (although in DTM in 2019 DRS was enabled in the final five laps of a race in the DRS zones regardless of following distance).

If it is hurting to hold for all of 10 seconds when you use it you can change the button to one which is more comfortable.

Just checked and the GT2 races also end at 6pm. That means I'm out for this Weds. If you're going to bring back Wednesday racing then you need to have proper evening slots. This is not thought out at all!

I have been doing my fair share of practices in random lobbies. There seems to be a lot of them, maybe the post christmass effect with new players joining GT7.

I am really enjoying the practices races so far. I must have 80+ of racing done in the past few days. I get 1.34 ish best time during a race. I have met way faster player, and pushing for faster lap result in lost of control. I'm stuck in that comfort zone, but for 18 laps, I will bet on the confort zone to finish the race.

Getting the feeling that 9M->9M might be faster than 12M->6S. There's less overall wear which makes things more lenient in the face of spins/damage, and there's undercut potential against M->S runners with the 3 lap wear advantage and clean air. I also have an under-over flex in case someone else tries 9M->9M by pitting on lap 8 or 10, leaning towards 8.
However, it might be vulnerable to soft tyres in the final quarter. Best case scenario, they pass me after a few attempts before their tyres die in lap 18 and I pick them off. Otherwise they run away and I get held up in the final northwest corner.

You have to run the softs at some point, both mediums and softs are set as required tyres.

Just did a race against an A rated driver who was using ASM and he literally gapped me an a few other A+ guys with relative ease. He was hitting 33' s on medium tyres with relative ease and he wasn't suffering the same amount of tyre wear as the rest of us. So there is definitely still an advantage gained from using ASM in the race if that's your thing. I think it works better in high powered MR cars, because it neutralises the issue with the transfer of weight that MR cars sometimes face. In the fast chicane, he was pretty much flat out every time. I wonder why PD got rid of one assist but kept the other in GT1 league. Surely skilled drivers will be able to maximise the advantage it gives?

Highly doubt it. At least for really fast players. It may saves tyres but loses pace overall, very very rarely you ll see top dogs using any assist aside from abs or when raining.

I'm really surprised they ditched CSA after all this time. Besides the stability it gives it also helps massively with rammers. Expecting more crashes in every Cup race from now on. It burns tyres though so at least there is that but it will increase the skill ceiling. I was a advocate of it until very recently. Reached A+ using it (on wheel). As someone pointed out it is kinda OP in certain scenarios.

At nords in a recent cup race I even saw a S/S player using it .

It's going to be the Lexus for me. That much is settled now. I'm not as fast as I'd like to be, of course. On RSs, I'm in the high 34s - low 35s. About a second slower on the RMs. Not great, but it is what it is. I've done a few lobby races for practice and it has been good enough to not feel completely embarrassed when compared to the other A-rated drivers.

Strategy-wise, I'll be aiming for 12RM-6RS. If the lobbies I've tried so far are any indication, though, that's probably not what I'll end up doing. The more likely scenario is that I'll bang into the wall on one of my passes through the kink, ride out the damage until lap 11, and run an extra lap on RSs to the end for an 11RM-7RS strategy.

Another aspect of my strategy is going to be entering the first slot of the day (6PM local time). I noticed in my lobby races that many drivers quit before the race ended. I'm hoping this carries over to the official race, and the effect will be strongest in the first slot, when drivers have the most options to try again later. If all goes well, I'll be able to pick up positions simply by finishing.

Ultimately, I'm not expecting much in the way of results in this race. P5 to P8 is probably the most I can hope for. P9 to P12 seems more likely. Looking forward to having some fun, though, regardless of where I finish.

Good luck in your races tomorrow! I'm looking forward to reading all the race reports.
