Man! What a race in Rd4 !! One lap of dry track then rain started in the second lap. Most of the second lap was wet with RH tires, made for some white knuckle moments. Then the rain really hit... 3 intense laps of downpour. Had some really great CLEAN racing the whole race with "Arborman", "TPC_KosmoKasi" and mostly with "Volkswagon". Him and I were racing hard the whole race. Great racer!!

Slot 1... DC'd as qualifying started.

Slot 2... All dry. I do not enjoy the Nords/AMG combination. Somehow I dragged my way up to 9th.

Slot 3, it finally got interesting. Rain came just a bit into the 2nd lap... or so it seemed. We'll get to that later. Anyway, I really thought about jumping back to the pits for inters, but dithered until it was too late. No one else did, though. The first guy on the track avoided enough of the rain to get pole, and I, about 10 seconds slower, got 2nd as literally everyone in front of me crashed. OK then! First lap in the dry was mediocre but I was still in touch. Seeing that the rain was again close to the track, I pitted for inters at the end of lap 1. Unsurprisingly they suffered some wear but about 1/3 through the lap it looked like the track was wet and I was starting to make up time, until suddenly... the back half of the track was basically dry? Even though there was darker blue over it in the radar??? I'd like to know if anyone else saw something similar, it made no sense and completely destroyed my inters. I took the lead as everyone else pitted on lap 2, but the damage had been done. Maybe it was the wrong strategy anyway because I would have had to save a lot of fuel to make it to the end, but I had to pit at the end of lap 3 as I was at around 5% on both fronts. That put me back to about 10th although I managed to get back to 5th by the end.

I know GT7 is trying to simulate different conditions on different parts of the track, but it doesn't make sense when the radar shows something completely different. Wondering what others' experiences were.

That is really bizarre. I didn't have any rain in my own race, but when I was doing laps in Free Practice, the track always got to the second tick on the gauge whenever it was hit by coloured squares on the radar -- even if they were the lightest blue. The darker blue tended to go even above the second tick. Can definitely understand your frustration here.

Well luck shined on me in the soggy Eifel Mountains. After a pretty bodged and indecisive qualifying session and placing 11th. First lap was very much chaos (with among them controller issues & a certain GT-R), I went al the way to 2nd and chasing down first. Near the end of the second lap and hunting first it starts to rain. We slowly threaded the needle to the pits, where intermediates were not that bad in heavy rain. The Alfa was very compliant on the rain, even with puddles and going wide a couple of times. A Ferrari was hunting ME down, with a lap 2 seconds faster than me on the final lap. Even when another controller problem on the last lap, I made it to the finish alive and in 1st! Another win for a Stellantis brand, and the second time in the final round!

Just noticed that they’re having a GTWS live event in Los Angeles in November. I think I’m going to get that day off and check it out. I imagine they’ll hold the event in the LA LIVE/Convention Center, or one of the hotels.

Well…they also have the Porsche Center down the road in Carson. Not exactly Los Angeles, but close enough. That’d be cool too. Too bad I’m not nearly fast enough to qualify
