We raced in the same GT1 slot today A/S (6 pm EST) - qualified P4 ~1:37. Finished P10? It wasn't lovely.First GT1 slot in the Americas (6 PM EST) in an all A/S lobby with 186 points up for grabs. I was in door #7. I needed to place P10 or better to improve my score.
Qualifying went fine. Posted a time of 1:38.645, which was only a couple tenths off of my best in Free Practice. That put me in Q11 to start.

The start was exactly the mess you'd expect in this combo. A bunch of cars were off in Turn 1. I picked up a few positions as a result, but got punted into the sand on Degna 1 and fell back to P12 or P13.
The rest of the race was a hectic blur. I pitted from RM to RS on lap 13 and came out in P9. Overtook one other driver in the pits the next lap and drove out to a P8 finish for 131 points.
Good enough. One and done for me.
Doesn't look like it. There are no rain options for weather on that track in the Custom Race settings.Maybe it'll rain but I doubt it (is it even possible on this layout?).
While I don't think that helped, high downforce always kills participation somewhat + it was the first really nice weekend of the year. I'm not surprised. It seemed like a lot of drivers skipped this round. Maybe it was overkill by PD, having it as a time trial and a Daily A.
If you're 5-6s off the average, I'm afraid you're not doing everything right.BOP is another name for “Rigged Race”! Because world wide it’s not the same. Even in event qualifying on our own world wide I’ve noticed when I do everything right, braking and accelerating etc., I still only qualify 5 to 6 seconds back of the world average.
Anyone driving the same car as you has the same power and weight.I know I’m not perfect nobody is but BOP is not fair for everyone.
Everyone in the same lobby as you has the exact same weather conditions as you at the same time as you. It doesn’t even come close to mattering what conditions other people in different lobbies have.I’ve been in race qualifying with rain when I can see others didn’t have any rain!! RIGGED!!
That's the way it is.Yes that’s the way it supposed to be but not what has been my experience.
Sounds like you have connection issues. Try this:Also Ive been on time for event starts when the server never acknowledged me to let me in to race. I know I’m not the only one either. In the last Nations Cup races the Server blocked me out of 2 races plain and simple with no explanation or acknowledgment.
60/40 this is a troll account, but... on races where it goes from wet to dry (like the recent Nations race at RBR) some people will park their car in the pits, go get dinner, and come back 30 mins later when the rain has stopped and the track is dry. They'll then put in their time, which of course, will be much faster than on the wet track.I know I’m not perfect nobody is but BOP is not fair for everyone. Yeah but still that’s not fair to the innocent racer just booting up and going to see what’s in store to just qualify like on daily races and leave and face every time you come back it’s raining, the that’s RIGGED!!60/40 this is a troll account, but... on races where it goes from wet to dry (like the recent Nations race at RBR) some people will park their car in the pits, go get dinner, and come back 30 mins later when the rain has stopped and the track is dry. Why people do this I don't know; bragging rights probably. I'd rather practice on the wet track but to each their own.
I've changed my prediction: 99/1 troll account.Yeah but still that’s not fair to the innocent racer just booting up and going to see what’s in store to just qualify like on daily races and leave and face every time you come back it’s raining, the that’s RIGGED!!
In Championship events, that's irrelevant. Your practice time defines nothing; you qualify for your start position in the actual lobby with everyone else in the same conditions. What you do in practice is not carried through to anything.Yeah but still that’s not fair to the innocent racer just booting up and going to see what’s in store to just qualify like on daily races and leave and face every time you come back it’s raining, the that’s RIGGED!!
Quite a lot to unpack there but just one question for now. Why would they rig the game to favour some regions over others? The Rigging is not just me. It’s others too. Ask yourself when you have a GT-7 problem how do you “Contact Us” with PSN network and provide photo proof or video proof of it? Because you think I would get on here and not have proof? Or if I said go to my feed and see for yourself wouldn’t you believe I was just trying to get “Views?” It’s rigged and feel like some regions always win and some always loose. Look around at the championships and see if you always see the same, ALL THE TIME? Because they ALWAYS THAT GOOD HUH yeah right.
Yeah that is a big ASK dude, WHY? You trust me I’ve been with PSN and PlayStation for a long time and have no problem moving on but PlayStation Plus is money out of my pocket and that’s me! I hate wasting money on a rigged system or setup. And I’m out if it continues through March 2025.Quite a lot to unpack there but just one question for now. Why would they rig the game to favour some regions over others?
Manufacturers schedule is out:
Fun fact: This is I believe the first race we've had in Sport Mode at Tokyo South - in either direction - since the game came out.
- 12 laps at Fuji, RH, x1 tyres
- 15 laps at Tokyo South CCW, RS, x2 tyres
- 16 laps at Autopolis, RH+RM (both required), x5 tyres
- 5 laps at Nürburgring Endurance, RH, x6 tyres
Nice to see the new season of Manu announced. I can already foresee Fuji and Autopolis will be a struggle. I never do well at either of those tracks. Tokyo could be interesting. And I always enjoy driving Nord regardless of how well I do.
Since it is another short season, I'm thinking I'll try to get one of the lesser manufacturers that I haven't yet driven out of the way. Not entirely sure which, but my short list is:
As for tomorrow's race at Suzuka, I've been doing some tire wear tests. I wrote yesterday that I thought I had figured out how to drive the track faster in RS tires in Free Practice, but when I tried in a custom race with fuel consumption and tire wear enabled, the improvements were pretty small. Meanwhile, I'm burning through the tires way faster. Only able to get 10 laps out them, where before they were lasting 13.
- Audi
- Chevrolet
- Jaguar
- McLaren
- Mitsubishi
- Renault
Anyways, here are my latest results (details in this spreadsheet):
Tire Compound Laps Opt time Best time Avg time RM 15 1:37.274 1:39.941 1:40.796 RS 10 1:36.237 1:39.768 1:41.248
View attachment 1434206
Tire tread level at end of test:
Tire compound Laps Front Left Front Right Rear Left Rear Right RM 15 45% 50% 60% 65% RS 10 1% 10% 40% 40%
Using these lap times to simulate different strategies (by fastest):
Strategy Total time 7RS-13RM 33:27.563 6RS-14RM 33:28.011 8RS-12RM 33:28.455 5RS-15RM 33:28.589 9RS-11RM 33:28.969 10RS-10RM 33:29.923
It's looking like 7RS-13RM is my best option. That might change as I do more tests and smooth out the data. I'm not sure how much more testing I'll do, though, as I'd like to get more practice on the track against other drivers, in custom races and in Daily Race A.
Good luck to everybody racing!
What car do members think will have the edge?I don't have any experience with man. cup. So this is maybe a noob question! please don't judge.
But I wonder since M6 Gr3 is a car to go in Gr3 races, at least last recent BOP Gr3 daily races, how do you chose your manufacturer? like why to even go with any other than BMW?
Is there a different kind of BOP in these races or what?
The only thing I will say on this topic is the issue of the Wednesday 18:00 last race time being a real issue for people in the UK and EU 🤬 as working people either don't get a chance to take part in the Wednesday races or if they are lucky they get a single chance in the last race!Quite a lot to unpack there but just one question for now. Why would they rig the game to favour some regions over others?
Don’t over think it. At that level picking something you’re comfortable with will make more difference than the BoP. The 911 is your go-to for a reason. What car do members think will have the edge?
I know the M6 is the car GT uses for the Nordschleife but, I am not a fan of this car! I use VR and I just don't like the feeling of the car as I am too far back in the car,my go to car is usually the 911 or AMG GT, I have used Ferrari for these cups but I have been wondering about the Viper for a change, I am only in D rank 🙁 but am on the cusp of moving up, so ideally I don't want a car that will get destroyed via BOP so do more experienced members here know if the Viper is any good or not?
When I have driven the Viper GR3 I seem to be okay with it, but I expect Fuji to rainbut the Nordschleife is going to be the big one and there will be rain there as well surely?
The only advice I would really give is this: Fuji has a giant straight, the Nordschleife has a giant straight, Tokyo South is all big straights and big stops. I would advise against using a downforce/handling car like the BRZ or the RS01 unless your plan is to zig where others are zagging in order to maximise your Autopolis result. What car do members think will have the edge?

Okay, but nothing you have said so far is anywhere close. You just seem very confused about what's actually happening and are blaming your own shortcomings on some bizarre system rigged against you for... some reason. The Rigging is not just me. It’s others too.
Crack on then. You can upload your proof and post it right here. If it's videos - and as your PlayStation console records everything it sees all the time, it should be - then upload them to any video sharing service and post it right here.Because you think I would get on here and not have proof?
I've no idea what you're talking about with "some regions always win and some always loose" (sic), as for the most part regional considerations are irrelevant (and extremely irrelevant in Nations Cup). Could you elaborate on this? It’s rigged and feel like some regions always win and some always loose. Look around at the championships and see if you always see the same, ALL THE TIME? Because they ALWAYS THAT GOOD HUH yeah right.
You know you can change your seating position in VR.. you can use the headset button that’s turns it to grey screen, or you can hit the start button on the controller. Before hitting these buttons move your head forward to sit back or move it back to sit closer. Same for height move your head up to sit lower, or move it down/lower your body to sit higher. What car do members think will have the edge?

I totally agree with @Fezzik, pick a car that you like to drive. Your success at the GT3 league is going to be determined much more on your ability to keep the car on the track, put in consistent lap times, and avoid incidents with other drivers, than it is on finding the fastest car. What car do members think will have the edge?
I drove for Dodge a few seasons ago. It is a solid car. Underrated, if you ask me. It was great at Daytona that season. At Fuji, it favoured the front part of the track over the twists at the end. I'd guess that it would be pretty good this season at Tokyo, too, with all the long straights. I'm not sure what has happened to the BoP on it since I drove it, though. Perhaps it's worse now. Or better.do more experienced members here know if the Viper is any good or not?
