Slot 1, door #7 Lamborghini.
I honestly can't believe I survived that race. Started P12. The start was glitched, which meant the leader waltzed off with a 20 sec lead while everyone else was bunched up like sardines for an unofficial grid start.

Turns out the problem was a Russian Porsche driver (mid pack). His car just sat on the grid, as the lights turned green. Luckily, I was on the left side of the track, so I could see the incoming carnage of those who were on the right side of the track, and didn't realise what was about to happen.

Lights go green and absolute carnage ensued. My car was stuck in reverse (as a result of the glitch), but I stuck my Lambo into first and nagivated my way through the crowd, avoiding spinning cars in the process. PD really need to sort out these server issues.

Anyway, by Eau Rouge, I went from P12 to P6. Myself and about 4 other drivers seperated from the rest of the field, half of whom had sustained damage at the glitched start. I came into the pits at the end of lap 10, switched to hards and came out in P3.

The 3rd stint is where things went a bit pear shaped. I switched back to inters at the end of lap 19, and on Lap 23-24 I almost destroyed my race on 4 different occasions. I was now in P6 with about 4 laps to go.

I had a very fast German BMW driver hunting me down and he was very forceful to get past me on lap 29, but I Just managed to hold on and keep my composure. One of the cars in the leading pack crashed out on the last lap which meant I held on to P5 for a season best 269 pts.

Next up, Interlagos. A 13 lap sprint which should suit the Lambo's abilities well. Hope you all had a good round 3!

DR:A / SR:S 🇬🇧 GT1 Lobby Slot 3 - Ford GT 18' GR.3

All I can say is Wow... What a race.

I had made it home after driving from Bath from work to Caterham on the motorway this afternoon and got home in time for the the last slot. Zero practice in the Wet so I had 10 Minutes prior to the slot start time to try get a grasp of what I was working with.

I always feel quick in these type of conditions, I was looking good for a Quick Lap in Qualy being on Hards, However I got caught up with a gaggle of cars that just wouldn't move offline after they ruined their lines together I went to pass them both got trapped in the middle and got front/rear damage so I had to settle with 10th frustratingly! I felt Top 5 was there for sure 😭

Started on IM's made up 3 Positions on the first couple corners 😍 & Climbed up to 5th after a few laps of putting in consistent sectors. Keeping out of trouble.

Pitted Lap 9 for Hards, lots of different strategies happening around me. Some tried to stay out on IM's which was a big mistake all the way through to Lap 14/15 but when they didn't Pit and I was just reeling them nicely over each Lap it was satisfying to get back to P6 after the Stop & Continued on to hunt down P5/P4! I was racing someone so closely for P4 and we were neck and neck till he ran out of talent after 3 laps of hard racing bumper to bumper and dropped down a few places was a shame as was very close and super enjoyable.

I had pitted on Lap 20 for Wets and came out In P6 again chasing down P5/P4 and just ensured I kept the race together enough to stay alive with no risks. Consistent times got me into a Comfortable 4th & A Cool 158 Points. The last two Laps made me appreiciate being on Full Wets by the end as the last lap was so tricky and treateourous and P5 was gaining on me a Lap per second but he also made a few errors and was clear by the flag. Just made it over the line to Qualify a finish time also 😎

Very enjoyable round and proves PD can put together a blinder if they really want to. Just wish they would do this more often.

1.55 Update has made me enjoy My Logi Pro to It's near full potential again and I appreiciate the fact my GR:3's no longer want to constantly kill me in every corner anymore! Slowly climbing up the DR:A Ladder towards A+ and today's race certainly helped!

Why are the time slots so bad in the first place? I am out of the loop on the reasons (but its been inconvenient for me at least for a while!)
Because PD chose them to be. They pander to a select few drivers and don't care about the rest.
With a long commute Weds are now not doable unless a miracle happens. Saturdays are o.k. as I can generally at least do the first slot.

GT1 slot 1, door 10, 195(!) Point lobby.

Went QH, 9IM, 10RH, 11W

Probably should have taken IM for the last stint but it didn't really cost me anything.

Q11 to P5 mainly through good timing of tire changes, no mistakes by me and a little bit of attrition ahead.

Quite the long race, my 57 year old bladder was not happy those last 5 laps or so, but all good in the end with a season high 162 points on the board in my highest rated lobby in some time.

Very clean racing from my perspective and enjoyable racing, bathroom needs notwithstanding.

I did 15 laps in Rory's practice lobby plus qualifying in VR and on a DDP, apart from me getting so so hot my neck and shoulders ached as well all afternoon!
Brave man 🤣 no way was I going to do it in VR, I can manage the hour but I didn't want to risk feeling sick and having to quit. Will try it at Interlargos as its much shorter

Let's just say I did not have a good time and I probably should have skipped this one. I did qualify P5, but was a victim of a dive-bomb in La Source on lap 2 and fell down to P10. Then throughout the race I had 3 big spins, at least 7 off track penalties, and me being total garbage in the rain. I didn't finish the race technically as the timer ran out at exit of Blanchimont and end up in P12. 48 points for me and 89 to the winner. I still have no idea how others can keep a quick pace in the rain. Obviously more experience than me, but I was impressed on how they did.

On to Interlagos and the next Daytona race a I'll need a better score than this last one.

Great race in NA A+ Slot 2, went 15th to 3rd in the first half of the race and just about managed to hold it, but man, this makes me wish that the weather wasn't always set the exact same for everyone, so we could be adapting and guessing rather than knowing exactly what's happening.

That was one of the hardest races I've ever had. First through fifth were all at each other for 30 laps. For a few laps each of us tried to break away from the pack but nobody could get away. Ended up coming down to being in the right place at the right time and taking it easier when needed. Wasn't P1 until the penalty line on the final lap! Phew, exhausting. But so much fun!

GT2 | 102 pts | 911 RSR

By far the longest race i've ever done. In the end pretty painful for my left (braking) knee, but still very entertaining and overall a pretty clean race (with one exception).

Qualy wasn't good. I wanted to play it safe but still missed some apaxes.

The start went well. I kept my position, but in the chicane after the long straight, a lambo hit me, i was forced into the wall and lost 5 positions.

The IM and the 911 were a prety good match. The car felt very good a i could work my way thru the field again.

Without traffic i could even make time to the leader, who was a class of it's own over the whole race. P5 was my best position in the whole race.

But that chenged with the change to RH tyres. I somehow forgot to drive fast. Especially in Eau rouge. And there, as the track was almost dry and only the curbs where a bit wet, i had one of those massive crashes, Spa is famous for. I lost 4 positions and about 10 seconds by that.

What i found a bit surprising was, that some drivers where pretty bad in the heavy braking zones. I gained many positions in those spots.
Only one time it went a bit wrong. I had a group of 3 cars in front of me. I easily outbraked the 2 Genesis in the final chicane, but the Lambo in front of them was so damn slow, and of course hadn't see me coming, that he closed the door and i couldn't avoid to hit him. Clearly my fault. I just did not see this coming.

The only big exception from clear racing was a spanish NSX. It seemed he wasn't able to overtake without pushing the other car out of his way. Here is a pic with him pushing me aside.

In the final stint with the heavy rain i had a lot of position swittches between P6 and P11.

I crossed the finish line on P6, but stupid me collected 2 track limit penalties in the final lap and i finished P8.
That was my minimum goal, although i wouldn't have been surprised with a lower position, due to the lenght and the heavy rain bit of the race.

I was in Rory's first race, made the mistake of not practising dry laps so was terrible in quali and when the track was dry, but decent enough in the wet and didn't crash throughout (unlike Rory, sorry mate).

Also got rammed early in the first stint so had to run most of it with poor top speed, but later on rear-ended the same driver, presumably giving them the same damage. Checked the replay and I was making the corner, they maybe braked extra hard because they were going wide to the wet line. I stopped and let them rejoin anyway.

Started P11 and finished P10 so that's one position gained and er, a rubbish number of points. Was tempted to go again at 6pm but my son got back from school and wanted to play, and I'm glad he did because he won (Daily 2) and made his papa proud.

Another consistent finish, but also still feeling like there was more left on the table.

GT1 NA - Mid A/S - 7pm EST Slot - Door 14

I didn't really practice in the dry at all, so it was a bit lackluster along with only getting one lap in puts me Q11. Start on IMs and kept the nose clean, working my way up to P8 by the time the dry line starts forming. It was a bit risky coming in after Lap 7, but it paid dividends as pretty well everyone else stayed out until Lap 10 or even later.

I emerged from the pit cycle in P5, hot on the heels of a slower Ferrari ahead, while also being reeled in by a much faster GTR. We all play musical chairs through the dry stint before time to pit at the end of L20. I decided to go with the full Wets (regrettably), getting out in P4 ahead of two Lamborghinis on IMs. I lose 3 spots in the first half of the stint as the surface just doesn't go my way to get the tires to fire up. One of the Lambos loses it once it only just gets wet enough for my tires to work. Continue on to finish P6.

Very fun run, but should have went IMs in hindsight to finish. P6 and 151 Pts.

Got a penalty during my qualifying run then got punted so started the race at the back of the grid with no time. Running +5 brake balance help the NSX rotate better without feeling twitchy. It's very sensitive going through Eau Rouge in the wet but the car feels great everywhere else. Just missed the top 5 finish starting from 14th but had fun as I always enjoy racing in the rain. I don't think I ever gain soon many positions in a race before. Gained 400 DR points for this.
