Had an absolutely horrible time in GT1, slot 1.

I guess all bets are off now that permanent damage is turned off.

Not race report, except to say I was 5th heading into the bus stop, and last coming out of it on lap 1.

Made up a little ground only to be taken out 2 more times.

Finished a very lonely 13th, DFL, some 55 seconds of the lead and 22 seconds off 12th.

90 points in the end, and that's enough of that for me.

That went better than expected, but, to be fair, my expectations were pretty low.

Door #14 in the first GT1 slot (6 PM EST) for the Americas, with 197 points up for grabs in a mid-A/S lobby. I was driving the BMW M6 Endurance Model.

Qualification couldn't have gone better. I posted a 1:44.911, better than any I'd done in Free Practice. That landed me Q10.

The race started with a mad jumble of cars at T1, but I think everybody survived. I did anyway, and even picked up a spot.

The next few laps were pretty hectic. I dropped a few positions to faster drivers, but I was able to keep up with the pack. Gained some back, here and there, as other drivers crashed and took penalties, including a brown pants moment going through the bus stop on lap 3.

A BMW and Lexus ahead of me tried to go in side-by-side. The Lexus, who was on the right, clipped the rail, coming to nearly a dead stop. I was barreling right into them, but they weren't ghosting. Just at the instance that I made contact, the ghosting kicked in. There was a poof of smoke in the replay, suggesting that there was contact, but thankfully I came out of it without any damage.

As things settled down, I found myself towards the back of the pack chasing a yellow BMW with whom I've had some good racing in the past. I pitted on lap 12 for softs, they pitted a lap later. The undercut got me ahead of them when they came out of the pits, but they were faster than me and we had some good racing until they got past me on lap 17.

I ended up finishing in P9 for 131 points. Not a great result, maybe, but it is an improvement over the first round. I had fun, so I'm not going to complain.

Bring on the karts!

Just finished mid A/S lobby at 8PM EST. I think the point total for 1st was 201. Chose the BRZ for something a little different

Started 5th on softs. People struggled off the line and came out 3rd out of turn 1, then gained another spot off the chicane after 2nd went wide. There I stayed about 3 seconds behind the leader.

Pitted on lap 9-10, which was a lap after the leader hoping to gain something. The leader almost got stuck in hard tire traffic, but managed it well. So there I was about 4-5 seconds behind. One thing the BRZ does very well is tire wear. It gets a little understeery except for the main culprit around the toe of the boot, but it's also very fast around the boot section. The problem is straightline speed. I was losing about 2-3 tenths from turn 1 to the chicane, but could make it up and then some the rest of the lap.

I kept wittling away, but I took 2 half-second penalties from turn 1 and ran wide once at the exit of the chicane. The leader was consistent and beat me by 1.1 seconds. Without those penalties, who knows? But I'm pleased with the result. Pics are first lap and finish line.

I don't understand how Sportsmanship Rating is calculated, why do rivals with rating S constantly push and knock me off the track?
Another boring, but nervous race on the BMW M6 Endurance.
Qualifying for 10th place.
I easily got to 5th place, and then chaos began. The pilots in 4th and 5th place, after I passed them, decided that they could just slow down from me, pushing me off the track. For about 5 laps, the same situation continued: I overtake him, after a couple of turns he tries to overtake me, pushes me off the track, the tires get dirty and I try to catch him for 1-2 laps. When I still couldn't break away from these madmen, both were involved in accidents and I brought them more than 6 seconds. The first 3 pilots were driving at a higher pace than me, I would hardly have been able to catch them, much less fight with them, so I am happy with 4th place.

I have already failed the next go-kart race....it will definitely be madness. For those who play on a gamepad, I recommend setting the sensitivity to -2, it helped me.

The one thing I noticed was without the Michelin sponsorship, cars can run whatever tire sidewall they wish. I think its great seeing different sidewalls so racers can use their preferred tires and not conflict with their livery.

I also expect to have a Manufacturer Exhibition Season 2 starting on March 12 to squeeze one in before the April qualifying races.

Yes, this is good news. I am a fan. Hated how the tires would change to Michelin during WS events. I like to run whichever brand matches my livery.
