Grand Valley with the Oreca Viper (GT3)

Hey GT freaks, this is my first time here but I am very interested to see if I am as good as I think I am. 😈 I posted a 1.31:645 with the Oreca Viper at Grand Valley. I believe that can't be beat! Please no cheating, I would love for someone to run a faster time and give me some competition! :D

I'm with ZC85 on this one, though I might try it. Grand Valley is not one of my favorites, not sure why.

i quite like gv cause its reasonably wide and fast flowing through most parts - i might try this if i get time.

i thought this was with the arcade car. now i know that aint possible.

lol

Hey TheGTMaster, here are the best runs at Grand Valley that have been posted http://www.racing-line.org/courseselect.php?SelectedGame=GT3&SelectedCourse=08 You are doing quite well with that time, i hate GrandValley now after being denied a 1'19 for so long with the 94/s so I wont be doing this, GrandValley has been a pain in my side ever since GT1, hopefully some of the quick members will try this with the Oreca, best of luck to ya :)
ZeroCool85, thanks for the web page with all of the lap times, but I have a couple of questions. First of all what is the difference in PAL format and NTSC format? Next do you know if these people use traction control, I do not use TC and feel that it slows me down, maybe that's just me. I haven't beat any of the top lap times yet. I have came very close to some, but I think they may cut corners or ride walls on certain tracks. Reply whenever, thanks again.

PAL is the European version of the game, they have 2 f1 cars, the 001(f94s) and the 002(88s) and the NTSC version is the North American version of the game, there is also a NTSC Japan version, NTSC has 6 f1s and thats about all i know with the differences. I do not know if they use traction control but with a fully moded Viper, I certainly would. Well the cutting corners and ride walls is a possibilty, but O.Z, lav01, Robert, David R Miller, Russ, Wiese and Temmer are clean. Robert is a moderator there and if u have any problems sign up there and tell him.

I could be wrong but I don't think that you can run faster lap times with traction control. Here is a setup that I use on my fully modyfied Oreca Viper, maybe this will help you control all that hp without TC.

spring rate: front 18.4 rear 16.8
ride height: 56 58
damper bound 10 10
damper rebound 5 5
camber 3.7 3.3
toe -0.5 -1.5
stabilizer 5 5

brake balance 24 19

gear about 35 on sports (your preference)

downforce all the way up
traction control NONE!!!
stability control NONE!!!

Maybe you'll try it maybe not, anyway as far as lap times, my GV time is clean. I think riding walls and cutting corners is cheating. If you have any setups you want to share, I'll be glad to try them, doesn't matter what car it is for. LATER!!

goddamn thats fast. i only tried a few laps before i got bored, but that was enough to know its fast. I think overall ASM slows you down, cause ur expecting to slide nicely round the corner, instead you understeer straight on. TCS I think can help when on a setting of 1, 2 or 3 as it helps to get the grip down and not wheelspin all the way up the straight. (On a steering wheel (I no longer own one unfortunately) this is not so much a problem cause you can easily balance the throttle). To be perfectly honest, i know that im faster with it like this, but feel that performance cars were never intended to use traction aids on the track, and therefore i prefer to run without them.
