...Just my opinion, but it doesn't seem very sportsmanlike to belittle others' racing skills simply because they don't sign up for a specific competition, Mr. Persistence.
If it's just meant as nothing more than a friendly busting-on-your-mates type of thing, just disregard these comments. It's just that it seems that the majority of the OLR competitions on this board are set up only for those more highly skilled racers, such as yourself.
It is disappointing that more people don't sign up for the races.

Everyone's got to start somewhere, Mr. Persistence. Even the Great Ones weren't great when they 1st began.

From the perspective of the newbie, or the mid skill-level racer, what's the point of joining a competition where you have no chance whatsoever of winning it?

hey man no probs i was just trying to lay the bait and see if it would get more people interested in signing up for this comp , lets put it this way ! i'll get my a$$ kicked in this comp like i do in many a comp but i still take part and enjoy olr to the full , i just want more members from this site taking part in these well thought out comps instead of the usual gvx and mr p being the gtp reps , no offence intended before more of a "come on move your a$$es " post

Good point Trailer01 about where do people start concerning OLR! Everyone must start somewhere if they want to prove themselves a worthy racer. The reason alot of people like myself race is firstly because it's enjoyable and it's not all about winning. Secondly when racing other people you get to see how fast you really are compared against the best. You will also learn a great deal about how to improve your racing skills. I just hope that every newbie or experienced racer does not have the attitude of "what's the point of joining a competition where you have no chance whatsoever of winning it?" because you'd never have anyone racing at all. If you enjoy OLR and want to improve your driving enter the competitions. If not, don't!

Yeh but...that's kind of the way it is already in a lot of cases. In a lot of the comps it's the same group of racers time and again. I just think a tiered system would be better. But it's easy to be an armchair quarterback after all, and the tiered system would most likely be more work than it was worth!

Trailer01 Have you read the rules of this particular challenge? I guess not.

Basically its a tiered challenge anyway. In the 1st round you get a car to race. Who ever wins the 1st round get last choice of car for round 2 and last place gets 1st choice. Obviously some cars are much quicker than others so the slower drivers will at least have more of a chance of finishing up the field.

Is this the sort of thing you were referring to?

No, actually. Sorry, I realize I wasn't clear in that last post GVX. What I was meaning was, on a Forum-level--not just in specific competitions--to have a tiered system. One with beginner intermediate and pro tiers, for instance, where racers of similar skill levels could find reasonable competition.
That was why I hadn't read the rules for this particular comp, also.
