Sparked by a post on the British GT Facebook page, I thought I'd have a go at visualising the dream of Halfords Yuasa racing entering a Honda NSX GT3 in the 2018 British GT Championship, based on the 2017 BTCC Touring car using sponsor correct to that car and those that are part of the British GT Championship.

Not a full factory effort, this one but it was works supported, with several factory drivers being involved with the team.

What is a very simple livery to a long time to make, most of the time tracking down and creating decals of the more obscure sponsors of this car proved problematic as there are not many pictures of it on the interweb. A Carrera Slot car and a die cast model help with references. One logo eluded me so I plumped for using one that is elsewhere on the car, one logo was identified, but no trace of a company could be found so it was made from scratch... Images of the second car (006) are even more difficult to find, but hopefully enough detail can be found to make this cars twin.

I spent more time hunting for pictures and in Inkscape than the editor for this one I think! The builder logo took some serious tracking down, it was found by a lucky guess that it was one of the drivers businesses, unfortunately the only image found was a low res png so work was required to make it of any use in game.

The car is painted to celebrate 10 years of Aston Martin racing at the Nordschleife, it replicates "Rose" the very first Vantage to be raced in the N24 (a car I will get around at some point). It took the class win in the SP8 class at the in 2015 running of the N24 making for a fitting tribute :cool:

Another Aston Martin N24 livery, I think I have an addiction! This one is taken from a V12 Vantage prepared for the Sp8 class by the Aston Martin Nurburgring Test Centre (oh for the real car in the game), for the 2014 running of the N24. The livery fits ok onto the GT4 well enough, the biggest difference is that it has a much smaller wing!



Blue over a special Silver, this proved to be a bit of a bugger on this car, especially the roof, one side has some really bad angle / depth problems, which caused problems when masking around the silver, tried all of the options I could think of, but this is the best I could manage... Not 100 percent happy TBH, but I am not sure how to improve it further!

At least one more of these to do, British Racing Green, I have the main logo, but is is poor quality :(​

Wrigley's Spearmint Gum Scirocco Gr.4, Inspired by a Mk1 Golf doing the rounds in the UK VW scene, which in turn was inspired buy a MK1golf rally car from 1977, worked out pretty well, altered to work in sport mode but the gum packet still fits nicely onto the rocco!​

I wanted something for the GT3 RS endurance race in GT League, so it seemed like a good idea to give the car the PlayStation livery as used on the GT1 cars, gold BBS wheels came from the GT2 car that also sported the PlayStation sponsorship. Perfect for Sport mode as well, should the car come up in a one make race...

Replica is from the first round of this years British GT series (I think), the car is much cleaner that the version raced at Snetterton last weekend (I may get around to making the logo splattered version at some point). A little artistic license used with matt black paint but close other than that.

In addition to the custom decals I have made I have used uploaded decals from others around these parts @daan springs to mind, special thanks to @Maninashed for the finishing touch BRDC Rising Stars Sticker (it only ends up small on the car but it wouldn't be finished without it).

A usual I couldn't decide on which wheels to use as, the BBS jobbies used seem to fit what is fitted to the car IRL best ;)

Jota Sport Aston Martin Vantage GT2 2011













Replica of the 2011 Vantage GT2 raced by Jota Sport, had to move some bits to fit the GT3 body but it has the right flavour, back to tracking down obscure logo's of companies that have long since disappeared. Coloured decals over a Grey Mica Grey base. I might have to adjust this for use in sport mode ;)

BUD LIGHT Jaguar XJR9













The mighty Group C jag Bud Light livery, I already had most of the decals made, from my Gr.3 version so a quick one to make. Forgive the bling wheels (they look better when moving), maybe should of put BBS RS the mesh design is more correct, but I favour the proper centre locks ;). This one made the in game Cool Selections page, I really have no idea why!

Revisited this one, as it was not just used for the N24, this version of the livery is from the Silverstone round of the 2013 Blancpain GT Series, a race that the team actually won! Biggest change is that it has less sponsor decals, but that highlights just how good looking the base of this livery actually is (IRL).

Aston Martin Vantage N24 "Rose" Nurburgring 24 Hours 2007














A car I have been mean to make a replica of for ages, it is after all an Iconic racing Aston Martin!

I already had made a version of the car that was raced to celebrate the 10 year anniversary of Aston martin racing at the Nurburgring so had a solid base to start. I mellowed out the yellow, and also got to work in Inkscape making the custom decals required. The car raced in a number of Nurburgring 24 hours this version is from 2007, I will no doubt revisit this car through the years..I have already started on the 2008 version ;)

VLN #187 Vantage Centenary Celebration (2012)













The #187 Vantage 100 years celebration, raced by Dr. Ulrich Bez in the VLN (with friends) it scored a podium finish in class. Really pleased with how this tuned out, creating the mask and getting into the game proved problematic (the base colour is an aluminium metallic), but it was worth the effort, it looks fantastic when the light is bouncing off it! :cool::D A number of other custom decals were required to finish it off. Will probably do a version with GT number panels later ;)

#32 Young Driver AMR VLN 2012













Back to the V12 Vantage GT3 with a bang, if you like them loud this one is for you!

Replica of the Young Driver AMR V12 Vantage GT3 that was driven by the brothers Stuck in the 2012 VLN. Difficult to find pictures of especially in VLN trim, special mention to @daan for the Young Driver logo used on the wing (it will be much more prominent on the sister car ;)) Some other scratch built logos here as well, stuff that I am actually able to mange to create in Inkscape. Great looking car I think :cool: It does have a problematic decal, that is a bit jagged :( but its small so not so noticeable, so I decided to leave it on the car left it on the car.

#37 Young Driver AMR V12 Vantage GT3 - VLN 2012













Another day another Aston...

The #37 is the sister car to the #32 (see above), not a whole lot to go on when making the VLN version, until I stumbled over a video on youtube that I was able to screen grab and figure out the sponsor decal locations! Young Driver AMR have a lot of local Danish sponsors as they were based in Copenhagen, these proved a little challenging to find and then turn into an SVG, have to say I got really lucky finding the odd PDF with logo's already in shapes!

Once again credit to @daan for the Young Driver logo which makes a prominent appearance on this car :cool: 👍 I was able to get a decent angle with align to camera which enabled the complete version to be used.
