According to Billie Joe Armstrong's official Twitter account (which I have linked to in the bottom of the post), Green Day will be releasing three albums over five months, from September of this year to January of 2013. They will be labeled, ¡UNO!, ¡DOS!, and ¡TRE!
¡UNO! will release in September 2012, ¡DOS! in November 2012, and ¡TRE! in January 2013.

Personally, I think this will be horrible. What do you think?

It will be interesting, I didn't think 21st Century Breakdown was as bad as people made it out to be. Saying that, any time a group/artist announces a double(in this case triple) album it makes me worry as it's much easier to write 10-12 good songs than 30(Or whatever the total of the 3 albums will be).

That's my worry. They're good, but they haven't had enough time tto wrote three good albums. Why three? Why not just release ONE with 30 songs on it?

More money. ;)

Charge more for the one, they make more money because you only have to market one CD, only one disc, only one package/booklet.

With itunes and Facebook it really doesn't cost much to market and distribute the album. Plus when a band is as big as Green Day is they can get away with exploiting their fame to make some extra cash. They aren't exactly the first to do this either, just off the top of my head Bruce Springsteen, Guns N' Roses, Metallica and System of a Down have made double albums that are sold separately.

So then, Green Day have announced today that they will be playing 'Dookie' in full at Reading festival this weekend as part of a series of surprise shows. And also that their tour next year will be kicking off on June 1st at the Emirates Stadium.

Also three songs have been released from UNO so far :D

Looking good so far, liking Oh Love and Kill the DJ. Also, they played quite a lot of new stuff straight from Armstrong's iPhone, from all three albums on radio 1. Here's the show in full, it's entertaining to say the least. All songs sounded good too :D

All these are off !Uno!

Oh Love

Kill the DJ (censored version)

Let Yourself Go (live)

Another pre-released single, Nuclear Family, out yesterday. All looking so far for the new album!

Less than two weeks to go now too, can't wait.

Big Green Day fan, Wake me up when september ends is in my top 3 favourite songs of all time..so ill be very interested in the 3 albums!

Just watched/listened to the vids that have been put up, Let yourself go and Nuclear family sound brilliant so does No love, which i admit i wasnt sure of when i first heard it! but someone kill the DJ is a bit meh to me tbh, i reckon its just an album filler nothing more..

Absolutely agree with what you think about the songs. And yeah why would they release the best songs now, they wouldn't. So excited for the 24th. I also heard (can't remember the source) that UNO is based lots on the occupy movement :D that means its gonna be political and thats when I like greenday best when their songs are about society and politics.

I like Nuclear Family. I can't wait until the 25th. Usually I don't buy a CD but I think this time I will actually buy the physical CD rather than buy it on iTunes. I just have a feeling the artwork will be really awesome, and Green Day is a very special band to me.

Hey, this is slightly off topic..but has anyone seen the Green day American idiot musical?..its coming to the UK in the next few months, i saw adverts for it in the newspaper..

Uno, a 12 track album; six tracks have been released so far from it  They just can't wait to get it out themselves!

With regards to American Idiot musical, I wanted to go but it was sold out when I looked :( A few of my friends are going and I'm very jealous.

BubbleBelly - The artwork is what you see here already, BJ with the pink X's on his eyes :P

But I mean the booklet. I know the cover will be the same.

There is also a US version available via the Green Day Facebook page 👍

I'm looking forward to hearing the final six songs!

Have to say. I love the album, a lot, simply excellent. The sound, to me, is like a blend of Nimrod and 21st Century Breakdown. Not a bad song on there.

Just listened to the album, Its not quite as good as I hoped, however I'm still enjoying listening to it. There doesn't seem to be any real hard meaningful songs in this album (like longview, viva la gloria, ect.). However as they have said before this album is meant to be like the pre/early party where everything is kinda happy.

Still a good album though.

It really reminds me of foxbro hot tubs.

The second six songs that hadn't already need released were not as strong but I do like troublemaker.

So theres a review of UNO! in my paper today..the Daily Mirror..its only a short review and this is what it says...

'The west coast, working class punks turned stadium filling world beaters, brandish an impressive electric weaponry to continue their creative hot flush. The first album in a planned three part follow-up to 2009's 21st century breakdown, this show Billie-jo Armstrong and co to be in fiery, tuneful and unforgiving form.Rock on.' 3 STARS

Well its billed as the "build up to the party" I just hope the party itself is better (dos). I find Uno a little underwhelming having had a fair few listens to it now. Only a few songs that are really good, everything else is just good or average. Whereas to me, everything on 21st Centruy Breakdown was very good.

So, slightly underwhelmed but looking forward to the next 2.

I haven't listened through it very many times or very attentively but I'm kind of disappointed by the lack of originality. I shouldn't be surprised, but all of the songs follow the same formula, except for Kill the DJ. I really like that song. The rest are pretty good but I feel like I heard them all on past albums.
