Won't make it tonight, it's just too nice of a night to not go camping
Have fun, you live in a great part of the world for it. My wife's brother lives in Calgary and they go camping all the time. It's too damn hot here right now, but come winter......

There wasn't a room planned for tonight because I'm in another part of the space time continuum right now that has access to the internet.

However, I'm excited to get things going full swing next week! The TVRs I know will be a lot of fun, and the GT3 class is shaping up to be really close. I'll see you guys next week for Daytona!

As it stands right now, I won't make the race. However plans could change and I'll be jockeying a TVR around the high banks come Thursday

Alright, now that I've returned from... where ever I was, we're going in full swing this week!

Tuesday and Wednesday will be practice nights for anyone that can make it, Thursday will be race night!
I will also probably have an 'unofficial' room up tonight, just to make sure I remember how to play Gran Turismo. :)

See you guys this week!

Since we're starting up, I'd like to point a few driving standard things out for this week at Daytona. I hope to make one of these for each race in the season, if there's something on the course I'd like to point out.

1. Pit Lane

1a. Pit In

First thing up is the Pit Entry. On the lap you're coming in, please duck below the yellow line after the banking, as pictured below, just to make it clear to following drivers. Please don't cut from the wall on the right to pit in at any point.

1b. Pit Exit

Please practice exiting pit road using the slip road to the left at pit exit. This is for safety exiting the pits. For this one, penalties will be applied for those who just jump out into traffic.

2. Lapping slower traffic

This isn't as important, but when the time comes for a GT3 driver to lap a TVR on the banking, I would prefer for the TVR drivers to remain on the bottom of the circuit, so that the GT3 cars can pass on the high side. But this is more of just a guideline, not a hard rule. Make the pass in the best way for the situation.

Also, the flat apron at the bottom of the banking should only be for damaged cars getting back to the pit, or cars that run out of fuel (should that happen).

That's it for now. Practice will be on for tonight! Remember to practice with both RH and RM tires. Hope to see you there!

Practice room is now live!

Event finished! FPS 2 will be tomorrow night, same time.

What are we doing about the maintenance period that's happening Thursday. Does it over lap with the race, and if it does.. just push it a week or what's the plan?

Few things I just want to clear up:

First off,

Thank you for bringing this up, but I believe it'll be done by the time we're scheduled to go on, so we should be good.

#2: @miata13B, does last night's run in the Merc confirm you're in for GT3?

And finally #3: @Kgffy, what livery do you plan on running for the Audi? I just don't want you and me to show up with the same car :)

PS: Second practice session is on for tonight!

I wouldn't mind some GTC competition tonight, the TVR is a lot of fun. I'm running a tune Vel posted, seems pretty good, I don't think it was specifically for Daytona though.

Wasn't really designed for any track in particular, just a base tune :)

I might be there tonight. Going out with friends, so we'll see

My base tune for the TVR for those interested. :)

It does not confirm or deny it. That was actually the first time I have booted up my PS3 since the last series. It was the first car I jumped in and went with it. I'm going to be testing tomorrow 3 more cars and if I decide on the Mercedes then I hope it is still available.

Race is on for tonight! Coming up with a strategy will be interesting...

I am a little worried with GTC for this evening. A few guys said they weren't going to be able to make it due to prior engagements, so... not sure what's gonna happen.

So good news is that you can view the qualifying and race results from the game club!

https://www.gran-turismo.com/us/gt6/user/#!/clubid/1007109/event/1044104/

The bad news (well, for me it is, anyway) is that I will have to pull my car from the points and drop to last in class. I forgot to reset the car to Hards, and went to quali on Mediums. I did go to pit road to change to the right tire, but I guess the game starts the car for each round how it remembers it being, which for me, was on the wrong compound.

What we can take away is that changing tires during qualifying does not effect what you start on. Something to keep in mind.

We also had no GTC drivers there (except 1). I really hope this changes for the next few rounds.

Next week's race will be in Silverstone! I'll have the points updated soon.

"Boys are back in town"!!

With 3 spins and 4 pits not the best of days. 1 pit had me go in change tire and fuel settings only to come out of the pits with no fuel added and the same tires I had coming in!!!! :banghead: anyone know what's up with that?? Opportunity lost on this one.

Also in the future if when we do night races could we get the start time of the race. Only practiced in complete darkness and when we started at dusk all my braking points could not be seen until the sun went completely down. Not an excuse just would be nice.

I guess post race penalties give Draq the win. Congrats!

On to Silverstone.

Yes, I should have made this more clear. But always expect at least a little bit of night racing with me (I love night racing :)).

If you head to the club events that are scheduled within the game, and find the regulations for that event, you can see the start time and the time progression for each event.

Red Bull Ring has no time change, so no need to worry there.
Silverstone and Suzuka have time changes, but it's only from day to... another time of day.
Spa and Le Sarthe will have day and night driving. One of those races will have a similar transition like last night's. But I'm playing with the idea of making one of those races start at night and transition into the morning. At the moment, that is how I have Le Sarthe set up.

got it thanks!!

It was great getting some cobwebs out last night. Great Win Flip :-) Sucks about the DQ'ing with the tires though.

I like this format a lot. There are a ton of different strategies I saw last night which was awesome.

I think next week will bring more racers to the table for us which will be great. It is also summertime for most if not all of us and we ran into this problem last year. We just need to keep on trucking.

Yeah! Good racing all around, hopefully we get a few more guys next week since it was kind of lonely for a while with only 6 guys running around, but it seems the cars each have their own talents and I'm interested to see what happens at silverstone!
