so, i read forza gonna be in wcg (some gaming championship), so with gt 5 not being out yet i was wondering if you guys think that we will be able to play gt5 in a big event like that? btw, reason i mentioned the olympics is cause i read some news article about the guys from wcg trying to get it in there.

Do you think it will be possible to make any money by playing gt5 in the future?

A video game should never be in the Olympics. Ever. The ancient Greeks and I would be very upset!

But sure, why not for a video game championship? There's already the GT Academy, though.....but sure!

GT4 World Championships were in 2005 in Paris in the ESWC and they canceled the supposed Singapore one for the following year. GT Academy seems like it's the way it may swing for world tourney's.

when you watch what happened to games like forza and counter-strike (fps) both of em are in WCG (I believe) and its very possible to win a serious amount of cash. Btw, i didnt mean the real olympics, i meant the computer olympics thing that is going on in some country these days.

Seems wierd that forza would be in there and not gran turismo.... i dunno, but as for the olympics i agree that there should never be video games in olympics and there never will be. That being said olympics is starting to get some pretty silly events, like bmx racing.

Can you say |V|ICRO$OFT!?
No, that jumbled mess of letters written by a two year old is completely illegible. I can say "Microsoft" though, and to that end, what have people got against them flexing their muscles and promoting their games? Get over it. It would be a different story if it were the other way around and SONY had their games included instead...

People side with console manufacturers like it's some kind of god-like ritual, and quite frankly, it's pathetic. Do I own an Xbox 360? No, I don't. Would I? Yes, if it were not for the fact that I already have my PS3 so I can play GT5 when it comes out, and I don't want to own more than one major console at a time. Simple as that. All this fanbotic immaturity is what gives forums a bad name.

I have actually competed in the Australian finals of the WCG. I raced in PGR3 on 360. There were no sony games there and I think this was all down to MS sponsorship.

It would be good to see a game like GT in the WCG, but don't get too excited if it ever does happen. First off in many countries the WCG is quite poorly run. In my country I was told that my event was cancelled, it was only by chance that on my way to work I stopped and watched the finals and discovered people playing PGR3 in a corner. Because I was told it was cancelled I stayed up most of the night before and was in no shape to play at a such a high level. I was only able to get second place, one short of a trip to europe to play in the world finals :( I have always felt a little robbed.

But anyway my point is that the WCG is often a mess and they will allowed cheating also. In the PGR finals we made a deal not the wall ride on one of the tracks, but if one of us did it would have been within the rules to do so. Gaming tournaments can be great, but I think they have a long way to go.
