ill start off by saying, by no means is this my course! haha!

Parnelli, your setup was very bizarre, with your choice of mods. I didnt really like the gearbox, as it slid out way to easy in second, and third was a low set gear. Didnt work well with my likings, but i could see it going fast. With me i posted a best of 1:16 and this is not a reflection of your car, but my skills on that course.

Mac, your setting was more to my liking. I can see we're more the same style, rather than me and Mr.Bones. Your damper setting worked great, but i still changed mine to try something new. I posted a good time of 1:14 in your car, mind you no other lap was close it was a miracle lap.

Springs - 6.0 / 3.6
Height - 100/100
Bound - 5/6
Rebound-4/4
Camber - 0/0
Tor 0/0
Stablizer - 2/7

Brakes - 20/13

Auto 13
3.146
2.087
1.608
1.220
0.940
2.860

Downforce .40 / .76

LSD - 56/56/56

this setup was awesome for me, but took a little getting used to. I cheated, used 7 laps instead of 5 but still couldnt match Mac's time. I got a 1:16 with my car, and a couple of 1:17s

Give us a car mac!

Batman, your setup is close to mine, but your reacts a bit slower and your gearbox... well... i could just discard the 5th gear, because as soon as i shifted to 5th i had to break... they're too long...
I did a best lap of 1:09:809 and a top speed of 287Km/h (same as mine), with your setup.

Looking at the time differences between us, it seems you guys have some problems with this track... or is it the car?
I liked this car/track combination, the small size/weight of Griffith is great to fly through the chincanes :)

What about the Toyota MR2 (my favorite car :D ) to be the next one? If it's ok to everyone, MR2 GT-S (new car) at Grand Valley Speedway.

Here's my setup (supersoft tyres, all upgrades, no TCSC or ASCC):

Springs: 2.9/4.3
Height: 92/92
Damper Bound: 5/5
Damper Rebound: 5/5
Camber: 0.0/0.0
Toe: 0.00/0.00
Stabilizers: 3/4
Brakes: 18/14

Gears:
1- 2.538
2- 1.855
3- 1.406
4- 1.080
5- 0.860
Final- 3.350
Auto- 3

Downforce: 0.47/0.76
LSD: 56/56/56

You guys might like more of this setup, since it's not so "nervous" as my other setups. I like alot of this car/setup and was able to win all the races this car can enter (except GT500 championship, haven't tried it yet :P ) only doing some small changes to this setup in some tracks, so i think its a nice one, at least to me... :P

Just made a few laps at Grand Valley and got a best of 1:46:944 with a top speed of 278Km/h (limited by gearbox, i should have used a final ratio of 3.300 or maybe a bit less, too lazy to change it now... :P ).

Tomorrow will leave on holidays, so you guys keep trying cars/setups and i'll catch up in a week or so... ;)
Cyas :)

ill give that a shot, i have a great car in mind for when its my turn to pick again. I was thinking of creating a thread with the specific name, because people who see GT 90 ect might not want to read. Up to you guys

Just got back from some hardcore partying. I'll do some testing tommorow, I'm too wasted now. But Yeah, I think we should start a new thread for this topic before someone flames us or locks this one up, and it's conveneint since Mac's going away. You lead the way, -Bruce Wayne-, uh -Batman-.

Ps: I can probly get a better time @ Grindy than either of you with my setup! I was in a hurry last nite getting ready for the party(s) :embarrassed:

it was actually a combo of both. With your two cars, if i spun out i could spin the tiresthrough first to fourth without accelerating. Sure was fun, i found that car track combo addicting! Im going away in 6 days, you guys will have to tune without me for a bit, and i might not have time to catch up. Seeeeeee yaaaaaa

P.S. After the MR2 we're switching threads folks

Let's not fret about pandering to each other; This is supposed to be what each one of us would do to set up our car during a typical race, be it sim, 2-player, or Time Trial. Personally, I never go for the absolute fastest time, nor do I profess to be the best driver in the world (which is why I never post in the Challenge Me! thread). I just find it stressful trying to beat other people's best...getting Gold trophies in license tests is stressful enough! Most of the time I do sim races against computer cars that aren't very challenging unless you enter the right car with a detuned setup, that's how I get my kicks. But y'all go on your trips and I'll try that MR2 latah.

Sure, i just said that cos before i try to do a game only with MR2, didn't thought that car could win all those races, so i got surprised...

I only like a challenge from time to time, not always. I usually only drive the cars on practice, not to beat my time or any AI cars, just for the fun of driving them and make setups.

I agree with you, at some point challenges always get too stressful.
