See how this question is already asked by someone? It's 2 posts above yours, how could you not see :odd:

Does the carpet stopper only come down when in use? I'm getting a new PS2 for Christmas so I have no way to test it out and it won't go down yet.

I'm guessing it's supposed to be in use for it to go down.

Is it just the GT Force Pro that has the pressure sensitive pedals or does the previous wheel have them to?

Cant wait for my prologue to arrvie, that Cusco Imprezza looks sweet!

There is a button right next to the carpet grip under the pedals. You push that button and the grip goes down. You can puch the grip back up if you are on a non-carpet surface.

Is the knob just like in a normal car (unscrew)? My GFP is at home so I can't check it. If that's the case then I'll by a Razo knob after work. :)

Im going to get a wheel soon, i guess i should just wait and get the GT Force Pro hey? I seen the old logitek one for $199!!!! Aus. this was at Kmart. Is that a rip off?? How much is the new GT wheel in Aussie dollars? Also, how much should i pay for the old one??

yeh but they are talking USD not AUD.

old logitech/updated logitech wheel is around the $160-199 AUD mark, new wheel will be $299AUD

which is still more expensive than in the US.

I bought mine from a local Gamestop Store.

I also see another problem with it. The 900 degree light (the right green one) seems to flicker very softly.

Maybe both problems are from GT3 (the moving of side to side, and the flickering light) but i want someone elses opinion and maybe to try it and see if it happens to them.

+ i dont have GT4:P so im not sure if its just the game.

My friend has the old Driving force and he has tried mine and he says it is stronger but not a huge difference. (played GT3)

My driving force pro light flickers very softly too. I think its normal. Are you able to turn the wheel 900 degrees?
I experience the same moving of side to side, its normal for GT3.

It's smaller for me too. I was expecting it to be a little closer to how big a real wheel was too.

And the GFP does have 6 screws ontop. I don't have it near me but I expect you can unscrew them.

Could somebody with the Driving Force Pro please go to
http://www.wingmanteam.com/latest_software/gadgets.htm#DX Tweak 2
and download DXTweak2?

This program reports DirectX values as well as raw data from input devices. Using this software it might be possible to utilize the full 900° if you map the raw values to the DirectX ones.
If somebody has the wheel and a bit of PC knowledge, please give a try and report back.

If the wheel switches into legacy mode, does it really LOCK the wheel turning at 200° with absolute physical resistance or doesn't it just react anymore beyond that?

No software required. You can toggle Legacy mode with 900 degree mode anytime. I've done this with GT3 already. You can utilize the 900 degree if you wish but it isn't that effective for driving. I'll give you guys time to figure out how, and then if no one has figured it out yet, I'll let you guys know.

I would really like to know. I don't have the wheel but this info is what stands between me and the purchase. I already own a GT Force and Momo Racing wheel, and combining the PC compatibility and quality of the latter with the PS2 compaitbility of the former in form of the GTFP with the additional 900° steering would be heaven.

My PS2 is sitting on my desk ad hooked up to my PC, so I could replace the two wheels with just one to play PS2 and PC sims like Live For Speed and netKar.

The wheel is worth the purchase. The force feedback is 2 times stronger than before and the added capability to have 900 degrees of rotation is unique to all wheels out in the market at this time. OHH yea the shifter is a great feature too....wish it was detactable though, because I would like to have mounted it in proximity to where a real shifter would be located.

I wanted to wait until others have tried to figure it out before just telling the wheel owners how to toggle between legacy and 900 degree mode. It is possible to play GT3...yes GT3 (and any other game that supports using the wheel) with 900 degree, but it doesn't mean you will be driving well...because GT3 wasn't designed for 900 degree rotation. When you toggle it, there is a clicking noise in the wheel, probably the locking mechanism...and the the right led lights up letting you know you are in 900 degree mode. I couldn't find the info anywhere in the manuals on this, I bet they plan on letting us know later when GT4 comes out.

I won't make it difficult, here is HOW YOU TOGGLE:
There are two leds on the wheel. The left one lights up if the wheel is compatible with your game, the right one will light up if you are in 900 degree mode.

To go into 900 degree mode, leave the wheel centered and press SELECT + R3 + right paddle shifter. Immediately you will hear a clicking noise coming from the wheel and the right LED will turn on.

To increase force feedback to 100% which is twice the strength of previous wheels, press SELECT + R3 + left paddle shifter. Immediately the left LED will flash twice letting you know you have increased the force feedback. Do it again to return to 60 % force feedback, the default value for the driving force pro because its already stronger than other wheels.

Terran: Do you find it that your arms and sholders get sore after playing with this wheel. I don't know if its from lack of sleep...hehe, or this wheel with its 2x force power...but i can definatyely feel the differance in force feedback. Using the shifter without an arm rest really gets your arm tired.

I found this other chair that's similiar to it for much cheaper a while back... let's see, the link is:

Not nearly as good, but closest thing i've found....

I've got that chair (http://www.bobearlracing.com/) with a Driving Force and its great!!!!! I hope that the new Pro wheel will work with it, but the base for the pedals looks bigger on the Pro model which might cause problems.
