Hey @Castrol96 I am having problems altering the textures that I want to edit, I am using GIMP so that I can make it a DDS texture, but it won't let me do that at all.

Can you help me a bit with that?

For editing I use photoshop. Before editing a texture it has very low opacity (not sure if it's the same on gimp). For overwriting a edited texture you must save it as a PNG format. JPEG could damage textures.

EDIT: Remember, each and every texture must be save separate, in games with character models the textures come in sets in GT you have many textures for each panel and LOD level.

Nearly finished with the C9, I tried making a Test Car version.

Nice, I believe it'll work with menu textures, it could be worth a try.

I was thinking of making GT3 UI. I might make a video tutorial on how to mod the textures for everyone sometime.

Is DDS a bundle of all the textures into one page or sepererated, not sure? Character models tend to have singular textures but car models have them for each part.

A .dds texture file is mainly used in games, so. I am assuming one file is a .bin to where all the car file textures are at.

Edit Highly experimental car texture using Paint.NET

Someone make the PT Cruiser Woody
P1170679.JPG
I may have a theory, I think it might work on PS2 or PS1 games, I have yet to try it though. I will give it a try and see how it works.

Edit: Nope, sadly, but I was hoping it would. Oh well.

But, I'll try recreating that skin for all the colors that fit the wood well.

I tired making a video of My R246 Sunset mod but whilst recording the frame rate dropped considerably low, lagged and kept crashing. The game ran at 60fps not recording. Overall, the mod looks great and very fun to drive on!

So all I can leave you with is a screenshot.

I really like that, wonder what it would be looking like at night time..

I was thinking about that but the track has sun light being rendered and I'll have to dim even texture, I might try sometime.

Man, you can change the track textures (or at least the background)?

There are over 100 road textures and many more, this is just a experiment at the moment. I'll go into full modding in the future.

Night time might be difficult because the street lights are just textures and not actual light sources. I don't know if headlights are working in GTPSP either (IIRC they work on Nurburgring, but I might be confusing it with GT5). So even if you could make it night time, it will be useless if you can't see where you're going :P

Happy to be proven wrong though 👍

if they can make interiors for the cars
Funny enough there are textures inside the car as well. I just don't know how I would approach texturing them because it's basically flat with seats and part of the exterior on some cars.

Umm, the Veyron and ZR-1 have lights.

Also, I would hug someone if they can make interiors for the cars!

Not sure if some of the convertibles will have textured Interiors and one odd thing I discovered the NSX LM road car has a coloured interior.

Do a sunset High Speed Ring!

Saw this and it immediately reminded me of the original High Speed Ring at sunrise/sunset on the GT1 Test drive disc. Seen it modded into the final versions of GT1-2 before on here. Alway's thought it looked awesome with a sunset/sunrise skybox.

Anyway, slightly off topic, so I'll stop rambling

GT5/6's High Speed Ring has a late afternoon/early evening setting. It looks gorgeous :)

I modded HighSpeedRing in sunset but it's too saturated.

Strangely, it has 2 panoramic skyboxes compared to 4 squares like most of the other tracks.

@KevinBS23 I'm curious how you managed to record the game, it lags and keeps crashing when I try it. Which setting do you use for your em......?

I'm trying to make more mods but their not working at all!

EDIT: It works!! - I'll show you guys one its 100% Complete. ;)

I use fraps for recording games. I've also reduced the rendering-resolution to 2x PSP.
