What happened to those 4 GT-R's in Australia? Did Nissan take the factory cars home with them?
The two ex-PWC cars are competing exclusively in the GT Endurance Championship, I believe. The Adelaide round runs as part of the sprint series due to the restrictions of being a support category. I'm not sure what's happening with the factory cars though.

The #24 is the Nissan Australia car. That's staying. I believe Caruso mentioned they'd try the Highlands 101 again. The #23, since it's brand new, must be doing its rounds in Blancpain. Unless it's being set up for GT300.

Tony Bates to campaign a Eggleston Motorsport-prepared Mercedes-AMG, for the Aus GT championship.

Question for yall.

Does anyone know if there's any bodywork differences between the GT3 and GTLM spec BMW M6?

"Unlike the BMW M6 GT3, the BMW M6 GTLM must not have ABS. At 1,250 kg when empty, the BMW M6 GTLM is also about 50 kilograms lighter and has a slightly longer wheelbase.

The dimensions of the wheels and tyres are also different to those on the BMW M6 GT3, as is the tank capacity. The BMW M6 GTLM achieves far faster lap times than the BMW M6 GT3, primarily because of the Michelin tyres specified in the regulations for the GTLM class."

To be blunt, basically none. They removed the canards...and that was about it.

Yes I see the link, but it's hard to not poke fun at their laziness. To be fair their realizing their mistake now and the next LMGTE/GTLM isn't gonna be an M6, and a true LMGTE from the beginning.

Yeah, I was looking at both cars side by side trying to see if there was any, was hoping I wasn't going crazy haha. I'm doing a series of art pieces featuring the cars from IMSA, and wanted to make sure the BMW one is accurate.

Here's the Ford and Corvette, for instance.

Those are awesome!

I do have the two of them for sale together on various apparel, but I don't know he rules about posting things like that so I don't.

Clupsal qualifying nearly over. The GT3 cars look so fierce in the track. I especially like the Huracan.

Both the Harucan and the R-EX sound incredible in person. It's a shame the two amazing sounding Aston Martin's were withdrawn from the event, along with the lack of Ferrari's with their very distinguishable sound.

Yeah, I'm starting to like the 488.
Has Tony Wall said anything about the GT-Rs. I also thought Bowe was bringing the Bentley.

I'm pretty sure the GTRs are Endurance series only (and Maranello?).

As for the Bentley, they were caught out by the major calendar change and some of their sponsor may have gotten cold feet;

I wonder if Nissan just find it hard to justify the extra expense considering they're already involved in the biggest Motorsport category in the country. I noticed they're selling GTR branded shirts and hats at the Clipsal 500, which is a bit of a tease though. The GTR has a strong legacy in Australia, perhaps only second to Japan, so it's a shame that the cars aren't (yet) getting much of a showing aside from the 12 Hour.

Yeah I knew he wasn't booked for Australian GT, I thought they may have booked him for the Australian endurance series, but I guess he's going back to Blancpain hopefully,

Is there any GTR GT3s contesting in Australian GT at Clipsal this week? I sold off my ticket when I found Matt wasn't going and that they cancelled the Sunday after race concert,

I was going to talk about Ricky Collard (son of BTCC driver Rob) doing the Blancpain Endurance Cup with the new BMW team Walkenhorst Racing. The entry list will say TBC everywhere but on the pic on the Blancpain official website it shows a side on pic of one of their M6's and zoom in and you will see GB's Union flag next to "R.Collard".

But this new news has massive implications for GT racing worldwide. Looks like ALL GT3 cars that compete in series like the Blancpain GT Series, PWC and British GT will compete against Super GT cars. OK it is just a one-off 10hr race and not a full season but I think that will massively improve the odds of teams that compete in series such as the GT Open and PWC agreeing to do the race at Suzuka. If they know they will just be committing to a one-off race then that will make any logistical problems seem small and manageable. I am of the opinion teams will find it workable to travel hundreds or thousands of miles (depending on where they are based) to Japan spending x to pack the team's crew and hardware on the flight if they knew it was for one time.

If teams aren't taking up invites to the Spa 24h, Bathurst 12h, Sepang 12h, Gulf 12h, etc then they wont go to Japan,

I also doubt many GT300 teams will show up either,

And what are the GT500 cars doing?

The 10hr race is a standalone event, with GT3 and GT300 cars.

Super GT will get a new date and new race length for their season with combined GT500 and GT300 cars.
