GT Racing - GT1, GT3, Blancpain Endurance Series & National GT SeriesSports Cars

Love it. What a mega race that was.

I remember all these cars from when they were current and in period racers. To see them all on track at the same time racing each other, but having their relevant class battles as well...🤩

I can only imagine what the Touring Car 'class' race will be like.
There was a green CSL on the grid yesterday.

Porn.

I can only hope the guy that hillclimbs his Ford Capri RS3100, just like the one Allan Moffat raced here in the mid 70s, turns up for a battle.

Either that, or someone else with an example.

Not sure what periods they have invited for the Touring Car category, but I expect Group A and the 2-litre Super Tourers to be well represented.

Any money on a Sierra or two running away at the front & a horde of BMWs chasing it down to the finish?

Hopefully, everyone plays nice and respects the value of the vehicles they're racing.

It was a really fun watch! I can't believe the Panoz and its fate through the final chicane. Beautiful cars all around!
I only caught the CSL as the pit lane reporter was on the grid. It was in front of and next to the group of GT1 cars front and centre.

So maybe there as a static display doing demo runs or such.

Those Group ? cars of the early 70s European Touring Car Championship, are next to priceless gems of history.

I can understand why their owners would be hesitant to line them up.

Not everyone is as enthusiastic as Nick Mason in racing an irreplaceable, priceless classic for kicks.

Could probably be a red flag later/over night how the weather is predicted with lots of rain, hail and (I'm 100 km north-east with the storm cell coming from south-west to hit us a bit later to Spa) chances of small tornados.

Huge crash between the end of the classic pitlane and the Raidillon. Aston Martin, Ferrari and one Porsche are in it.

They don't show it but you can pick an onboard cam to see it.

If they don't show it, that always meant in the past that someone's possibly injured. Hopefully that's not the case this time.

Jesus. The stationary camera, at the end of the old pitline, showing all those cars just flying past the stranded McLaren at full throttle was insanely scary.
Unbelievable. The Porsche was going way too fast!

Hopefully the footage being shown means that everyone is OK.

Rossi not having a good stint.
Yeh, though the track limits warning can't have helped, and presumably he wasn't responsible for all of the car's transgressions? (though maybe he was?)

I certainly don't envy him with these conditions right now though...

First sets of wets coming out now...
