GT Sophy AI is a cheating snob

Somebody has to tell the truth and I'm going to tell it. I have observed for at least the past year; Sophy cheats regularly in two tracks 24 hour Lemans and Nordschleife.


1) on straights sophy make dirty passes plowing hard into the front of my car before fully passing me shoving me off
2) on straights sophy catches up to me and rams (fishtails) my rear to spin me out
3) no matter how fast I race to leading pole position sophy AI teammates randomly cram/block me to slow my progression.

watching the replays I notice Sophy AI make quick unrealistic speeds around corners without reasonable braking to catch up with me

A seemingly scripted scenario I typically start around mid to last position and after around 25% of the race I safely make it to 2nd place but the first place AI is a mile away and I could never catch up or I catch up but Sophy rides my bumper to just about the end of the race and spins me out at the last corner! SMH THIS AI IS GARBAGE!

Edit: This video upload shows how Sophy AI will gain unreasonable speeds to beat you at the finish line.

As your console records everything it sees, it would not have been difficult to show this behaviour in video form so that we don't have to take your word for it.

This, in particular, is hard to visualise:

I do concur number 1 as well. On top of that, I hate Sophy's dive bombing behavior. This is especially distracting when driving with H pattern shifter. Regardless of how far ahead you are of the car behind you, if you take the open approach to a corner and want to balance the tail braking with smooth heel-and-toe, Sophy has no other mode than to dive inside, either hitting your inside back corner, pushing into your side or running way too deep into the corner if somehow you manage to evade. Nothing but Max, all the time.

Oh how I miss the first Sophy demo version, with the absolute awareness of what they can and can not do.

you need to realize 2:06 lap time will make for a calm Sophy AI. Once you get around 1:55 to 1:57 per lap Sophy will ramp up speed and aggression to annoy and wreck you. I used a PI 619 car and got 1:57 average lap time in grand valley with no pressure (i made it to first place by lap 2 but some how Sophy AI came back with unusual speeds and passed me right before the finish line). The AI under this challenge was much more aggressive than what you experienced at your speed times. I know once i heat up i could probably get in 1:53s but i know then Sophy would be a cheating maniac and destroy my race.

Considering i have only 3 laps to win the race i Make it to pole position during lap 2. lap 3 im gaining safe distance from the 2nd place Sophy but right before the end of the finish line Sophy zooms right past me an wins the race. I feel as if this is very annoying.

Oh, so the AI is only cheating under very specific circumstances that only you are able to replicate? Then it's a good thing your console is able to record and upload video of this, so I would suggest that's what you should do next. Because I have a hard time believing your average 1:57 laps in a 600 pp street car while being obstructed and wrecked by the AI.

Sophy doesn't even hit you once in that clip, while you barge into at least half of them as you bully your way around the track. And you complain about Sophy playing foul? Come on...

The third lap of the leading AI is pretty much on par with the second lap. It did a 2:00 lap time, while being pushed wide at least twice by you. On the last lap it did a 1:58 without any interference from you. That's not suspiciously fast in any way, especially not since you were able to do 1:55 on the second lap. The reason why it overtook you at the end is because you made a mistake in the last corner and Sophy came around on the outside. Your last lap must have been around the 2 minute mark, some 4-5 seconds slower than your second lap, so it's not strange that Sophy overtook you at the end.

As for aggressive behaviour from the AI, I really don't see it. It seems to behave very well, even though you do your best to upset it. Your problem is that you're driving as if you are the only car on the track. It may seem to you as if Sophy is wrecking you, but really it's the other way around.

Sorry but you use other cars to brake, make turns and so on, I know they are annoying moving chicanes slowing you when you want to catch the rabbit in front but...

At the start of the race you have to go through the slower cars but in the end you face the fast ones. That's not the best enjoyable way of racing an AI but that's what GT has been offering most of the time so far. But that's not cheating.

He nearly did that on lap 2 also, and did it on lap 1, he has a better trajectory there than you hence his better exit speed.

You were dirty, absolutely. Sorry. Not very dirty but not clean, far from it. If you use other cars to help you brake and make turns (intentionnaly or not), you are dirty.

no that was certainly not dirty racing. i took the insides very tightly never used AI to boost around corners i too the inside first.
