Hey all. Last Saturday several of you recommended I get a headset. I've been looking, but based on reviews, I'm confused what to get. Any recommendations? I hope for reviews after longer use, rather than, 'Just got it. It looks great.' I have the PS4 Slim, and use a wheel, so I need one that will plug into the console via USB. Which, if I understand, will work in the second controller plug. Already have a 3.5mm to USB adapter on the way if needed. Thanks.

ps4 comes with a 1 mono headset in earbud form, that you can plug into the controller and you 're good to go or you can go fancy and get a 100 us blue tooth headset from amazon or even a wire usb from turtle beach. The one I have is this...

Trouble is, I've never used the controller to race. With my old fingers, I doubt I could. To many things to do at the same time. I've always been good at sport stuff with my hands and feet, but fingers, not so much.

You dont need to use the controler, you use the controler only for the haedset and the wheel for the game. You can set both at the same time

I tried that, but the DS4 took over for the wheel. Should I plug the wheel into slot 2? Or maybe I'll go into settings and figure it out. Color me lazy.

Besides, I also want to get into iRacing, so I'll need a headset for that. And the way my ears ring, I'll need to pipe sound into both to hear anything.

UPDATE
there's not much to do, never mind the slot. Turn on PS4 pressing the controller PS button, with the wheel off then, Turn on the wheel and press the PS button on the wheel and set the same user, they will both work simultaneously. That's the way i do here, should work with you also. As long as IRacing i understand that you have to be on a PC, my head set (the one i sent you the link) work good on a PC also.

Most of you guys know of or have spoken to George my grandson who is 6 years old. I am pleased and proud to announce that he has taken his first steps into racing :):) He just about managed to get his foot all the way on the gas pedal but could not reach the brake as well, bless him. He has had an hour around Northern Isle with traction on 5 and automatic against the AI in single race mode. I have posted 4 replays on the activity feed. I chose the Clio for him, the others he chose himself "I want a fast car grandad"! I have uploaded them in no particular order apart from the last one in the C9. Most definitely practising for our mayhem races in that. I think he has really got the bug, every time he won he jumped out the chair, gave a big fist pump and a loud "yesssssss" Just need his other foot to reach the brake pedal now! He can learn a lot the way he is now though. Excited grandad :):)

Well that sounds like a trick that's not in the manual. I'll try it, thanks.

That's so cool, Grandpa. Maybe zip tie a block to the brake pedal?

Orrrrrr. Take him to a go-cart track. Never to young to start for real. Or would his Mom say, 'No freakin' way'.

Already had that convo with mum. They do a class called Bambino over here and can have a trial run for a couple of hours

Well there ya go then. Sounds like something a Granddad is supposed to do for his grandchildren. Make sure he knows the future expenses though. It's not a cheap sport.

But if he intuitively knows to turn into a slide, he has the gift to go places maybe. Good luck to you both.

I have a Turtle Beach 500, probably 4 or 5 years old and it still works great. I think they're up to the 800's now. They are wireless so they use a usb with an optical port as well. P Mallard

on headsets.... I used a PS Gold for about 5 years, no issues and fairly reasonable price. I only replaced it because the wife saw I had it taped up with duct tape. Its still fully functional.
I've since upgraded to a Razer Man o War which was about twice the price but sound is awesome, very happy for almost 2 years now

I got a few clays. Missed most. I can see what I'm doing wrong but can't seem to correct myself yet. Lead the bird more. The fun bit though are the big boy rounds I brought. The cardboard box didn't stand a chance. No one else wanted anything to do with them. And yep, bruised shoulder.

Hope Sunday went well. See ya Wednesday. 👍
