GT Sport is phenomenal. I'm not disappointed at all

One can love the series and say only positive things about it, sure.

But one can also love the series by showing criticism and feedback towards flaws of the game to ensure the game gets further refined and or improved.

I am certain if there was no criticism on the sound department we would have end up with the same situation ala GT5-6.
Luckily the team at Polyphony viewed the fans response and disgust of past GT sounds and they worked to improve it as much as possible. Same goes for Graphics, Physics and so on.

So in both ways these series can be loved. And not by being positive only.

Still it is nice to see a positive thread around.

There is no problem with the critics but the purpose of this thread is to show that we love GT Sport. Because yes, there are many who are OK with the new direction taken by PoDi :)

It would be very bad if Sony or PoDi stops supporting GT Sport.

I'm not disappointed at all either with most aspects of the game (never been a huge GT fan, so maybe that helps), and relatively optimistic that most of the other parts will catch up.
Only worrying thing is the low number tracks, but at least I like all of them (dirt and ovals excepted). While a game like Project Cars 2 has a nice, huge track list I don't care for a good chunk of them and many others I've played so many times over so many years in so many other racing games that I'm rather fed up with them. It's nice to have some more fantasy tracks in GTS, and the ones that aren't are ones I still enjoy a lot.

So far for me the "heart" of GTS has been arcade mode - time trials and initially single races then custom races (really nice that you can change a lot of parameters in custom, including turning off AI rubberbanding).

While I have fairly high hopes for the online parts, Sports mode is currently completely underwhelming. The daily race hasn't changed yet and the Gr. 4 race is on a short track layout (but otherwise fine) while putting Gr. 3 cars on that tiny oval is a laughable. And not in the fun way.
Not sure why they are holding off a full two weeks for the larger events, which is going to be even worse if they don't plan on changing the daily race more than once a week.
And I'm not really enthusiastic about open lobbies since they don't use SR rating, so basically it's likely to be the same **** as in open lobbies in other games.

Thanks guys. It's important to show that many of us love GT Sport :)

This game is saaaweeet! Very well done (minus glitches/issues/server maintenance but all games go through this). Very classy game.

My only complaint is the track issue. Where are all the tracks at!! Man. . I was really looking forward to running some laps on Laguna Seca! (My hometown track)

Its not GT without Laguna Seca !
I really hope they add it .

I love it so far.

Detail on the cars is top notch, livery editor is awesome (Took them long enough lol)

Online is pretty fun, the ghosting in regards to lower rated players is perfect.

My only gripe? No legacy tracks, like Trial Mountain, Deep Forest Raceway, or Grand Valley. Just add those in, along with some more cars, and we got a top notch entry for PD into the PS4.

Rivers is the man! And your bio is hilarious

I want Laguna sooooo bad. Prob the #1 track Im missing most. Itll come, I hope.

I understand that you want old fantasy tracks like Trial Mountain or Deep Forest but PoDi need to redo them completely. They were part of the uglier tracks of GT5 and GT6. And in the meantime, I think that PoDi is right to put new tracks like Lago Maggiore or Dragon Trails that are absolutely great.

For real tracks like Laguna Seca or Le Mans, they are too dated.... We need to redo them completely too.

I’m sure it’s coming! That’s one of my favorite tracks and was bummed that it didn’t make it on release day

Great game. 79$ is a little overpriced for basic game, but still the only GT game for PS4.
Now on my way challenging licences and mastering tracks. Hope that GT7 will be more likely 5 and 6 with Pebble Beach cars, moon, TopGear track, JayLeno awesome cars (hope steamcars will be there too).
Have some nostalgia about sounds when you got gold licence - you remember GT4! Also nostalgia about museum from GT5...
Music good too, even old songs. Perfect background picture exhibition slideshow and videos.

I'm really enjoying this too. I thought the lack of a proper career mode would ensure I get bored of this game really quickly, but it's quite the opposite. I used to play a bit of online with Forza 6 but never really got into it. GT Sport on the other hand has me completely invested in the online racing. I think it's a huge amount of fun. Oh, and the career mode in this game is making me a better driver. I spent half an hour on one of the beginner racing challenges and the sense of relief I felt when I finally got the gold was great! Absolutely loving this game and can't wait for these championships to start happening, although I have a question about that... What if we physically can't be on our PS4's at the time of a championship event? Not all of us can ensure being online at certain times for 3-5 events.

I'm loving online at the moment, even with the small bugs but yeah, i'd like to know about the championship events too and if they will make them more accessible. The first one on the 4th, i'm on late shift and there's no way i can get back for those times as i finish VERY late lol. Hope they cater for those who cant make a specific day/time.

Circuit Experience was fun. In the 3 hours it took to complete...

And i'm sorry, but Rally is garbage, the tracks are garbage. There is nothing nice to be said about Rally in any GT including this one. The handling on dirt is almost broken..

Go from Dirt Rally to GT sport and it almost makes you cringe. And it seems as if they just used Track Generator to make a couple rally tracks and said, "Well that will do".

When I first got my hands on GT5 Prologue, one of the things I loved about it was its automatic matchmaking. You didn't have to wait until some lobby host starts the race (which can take forever, not to mention the possibility of the host kicking you from the lobby for some unwarranted reason). You simply pick an event and it auto matches you with people, and you're off racing ASAP. So... imagine my disappointment when GT5 itself didn't have it. Just the open lobbies. =/

GT6's Quick Match was a return to form, but I remember disconnecting a lot before the races even started. That, and I was gaming mostly on the PS4, so... yeah.

Barring the Prologue-style campaign mode and maybe the car list (too many racing variants), GT Sport is exactly what I want. The awesome graphics, the driving, and the auto matchmaking. And I can easily see myself playing this a lot over the next few years.

They literally could've and still could patch Sport Mode into GT6. We did not have to wait 4 years for this barebones game to do it.

They could've, yes. But you have to remember: the PS4 was already out and they've already stated a lot that the PS3 was a nightmare to develop for, so...

Admittedly, though, the decision to remake the car list from scratch just to chase 4K HDR, as fantastic as the end result is, was not a wise decision, really.

The PS3 was a nightmare to develop for yes, but they built the engine from the ground up as well as the car and track models.
No ones pulling a wool over my eyes. This is the same engine as GT5 and GT6 with improved lighting, textures, resolution and more stable framerate. And it took them four years to release this barebones game on a console that is as easy to develop for as a PC because it IS a closed off PC. Not to mention the console is near the end of its life.

Yes, they need to put it down for maintenance. You coud see it announced in advance yesterday. So, no problem with that. Complicated things are due to more often maintenance.
