GT Sport Returning STANDARD Car Predictions

Alright, new predictions.

Mitsubishi - 1998 Lancer Evolution V GSR or Galant GTO MR if they choose an oddball car. I picked the Evo V since it's sticking with the 90s theme of their premiumized standards. It's also a standard car that wasn't updated in GT6. You see, I haven't seen PD add a car to GTS that was an updated standard in GT6 yet. The cars choosen so far were either premiums in GT6 or un-touched standards.
Jaguar - 1999 XKR Coupe or 2002 XKR R Performance, alternate idea would be the XJ220. The XJ220 is if they decide to finally start making premium models of their updated standards.
Chevrolet - 1954 C1 Corvette, similar to the Mitsubishi idea, but with classic car themes shown.
Ford - RS200 or 2000 Mustang SVT Cobra R, only choosing these as there aren't many untouched standard Fords in GT6. Most were updated in some way and I don't see a pattern indicating they would make a premium Ford Ka or F150 SVT Lightning (there's the 2010 Raptor, but that's out of left-field really).
Dodge - 1971 Charger Super Bee. Alright, if they decided to pick an updated standard from GT6, then I guess the 1970 Charger 440 R/T.
Lamborghini - Seemingly unlikely right now, but the only standard Lambo was the NOMAD JGTC Diablo. So, I guess that, but I expect to see another premium Lamborghini like one of the Murcielagos or the Anniversary Countach before seeing a premium JGTC Diablo.
Suzuki - 1997 Alto Works Suzuki Sports Limited (it's been in every main series GT title since GT2), alternate choice: Escudo Pikes Peak Trial Car (due to its history in the series).

I really hope the Nissan Primera shows up.
Either the P10 or P11 (The P11 being the one notable for BTCC victory), but both have a solid if understated reputation for being strong, reliable packages. And the P10 in GT6 was pretty badass if you knew how to set it up right!

Finally one of my (exact) predictions were accurate. The Trueno GT-APEX is coming. I'm anxious to see if any others I predicted are accurate in the future. I'm sure the next few standards are going to be Japanese road cars like the AE86 but based on my list, I think the Toyota GT-ONE or the Mercedes 190E might be coming soon.

It astounds me that the XJ220 is still missing. It's already a semi-premium and has made numerous lists posted here. It's the last major 90's supercar I can think of that hasn't made the jump from previous games. Hopefully PD is working on it.
I know right? How can this be still missing, this is almost as iconic as the Ford GT Race Car itself!

Same here, its an utterly beautiful automobile. We aren't the only ones to think that: Enzo Ferrari: "The Jaguar E-Type is the most beautiful car ever made."
Of couse, he said that 50+ years ago. But that quote still lives up to it's words

Now that I think about it, if PD decides to add more vintage air cooled Volkswagens to GT Sport (EX. The Type 2 Samba), It makes sense for them to add the premium Beetle the 1200 model from 1966 rather than the 1100 standard model from 1949 I predicted. It'll be much more easier for PD and if they were to bring back a standard model classic Volkswagen to GT Sport, I think they'll bring back the Karmann Ghia rather than the '49 Bug.
The Karmann Ghia is often regarded as the most beautiful VW and i can't disagree:

What a mouth watering little car :drool:

I was Thinking about this car returning to GTS when I saw this car in front of my house. Mostly about the amount of hype we have come to aspect from you when these cars are announced/discussed.
Don't think it is likely to come though Even the Schwimwagen and the Kubelwagen are more likely to come back.

Cars that might have a more respectable chance of coming back in my opinion are:

Citroën 2CV Type A '54
BMW 2002 Turbo '73
Dome -ZERO '78
Jaguar XJ220
Ford Rs200
Chevrolet Corvette C1

These cars are famous enough/have enough racing pedigree/seem to me to be up Kaz' alley that they are more likely to appear in the game

I can realistically see the BMW 2002 and the XJ220 most likely returning. Maybe the C1 because we have the C3 and C2.

By this logic, the '04 Holden Commodore should be coming back. But I don't think it will happen...:nervous:
I mean I'm also assumming the XJ220 is a popular car, which it was. Its also a pretty longstanding car in the franchise with many appearances and a sort of important part in the brand it belongs to's history.

I mean if you go by number of posts, perhaps. But look at the number of likes. That XJ220 Premium thread has almost 150 likes on the initial post, compared to about 60 for each of the GT40s and about 80 for the AE86. I could be wrong, as I haven't been part of the community very long, but 150 likes seems pretty sizable. I may also be over defensive because the XJ220 was my favorite car growing up and it being in NFS2 was the reason I got into that game.

Exactly why I posted the other cars. Even though PD probably do look at the suggestions, many members haven't Liked the more popular cars that people are talking about.

Another example: https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/threads/lamborghini-espada-s3-1972.318192/

Less than 85 likes, yet, seems that PD have modeled one. for(possibly) GT Sport. We all know posting and Liking a suggestion is no guarantee, but if the community start to ramp up the likes on the more popular cars, maybe PD designers take more notice.

Toyota - Celica ST205 GT-Four since the other premiumized standard Toyotas are in the same decade. If not that, then an AE86 Sprinter Trueno GT-Apex.
Heh, I guess I called it.

Okay, revised predicitions:

Toyota - 88C-V Race Car, ST205 Celica GT-Four, or AE86 Corolla Levin are next.
The 88C-V is due to the Group C car additions in the game already plus the leaked Porsche 962. The ST205 Celica GT-Four is same as before, being a 90s Toyota. AE86 Levin sounds redundant, but PD is known to be redundant with the car additions.

Ford - If a revised standard were to come to GTS, it would be the RS200.
For a regular standard, there aren't many left from Ford. I guess the GT40 MK.1 Race Car (the Road Car in GTS is different from the Racing model guys).

Chevy - 1990 Corvette ZR-1 C4 as a revised standard, only because there isn't a C4 in GTS yet. If it's a regular standard, then the 1954 C1 Corvette due to PD's classic car addition streak.

With the mention of the Toyota 88C-V we can't forget the Nissan R89C and Peugeot 905B. Then that will be all of the Group C cars from previous games.

Personally I'd like to see a few of the older JGTC cars come back in lovely UHD. I don't care too much what class they go in. I can see them putting in groups of three, keeping the trend previously set. As such the '03 cars (Xanavi Nismo GT-R, Woodone TOMS Supra and Takata Dome NSX) would be prime candidates. Some of the '99 or '00 cars would be great. They could include a GT-R, NSX and Supra and for '99 the Taisan Viper or '00 the JLOC Diablo.
