GT Sport - Steering Issue / Replay Save

Hi everyone, i'm asking for help because i actually have a very notable issue about the in-game steering. It all started yesterday, while i was practicing: the game suddenly crashed (CE-.... error). After that, i had some problems about the steering. Now it happens frequently to me that it blocks, and if i try to corner even at a low speed, i just can't steer, until it unlocks and returns to normal. This problem just ruined the last 3 races i did, and i'm starting to get worried, because i lost the feeling that the car always give me. I carefully looked at the G-Force gauge in the HUD, and yes, when it happens the red dot indicator just stops at half, and then after 1-2 seconds it returns to normal. Now, this is a very annoying issue, because i can't tell when this could happen, and i can't play races anymore... it is very irregular and it occurs when you least expect it. I tried everything: restarting the PS4, changing cars, changing settings like the sensitivity, tires, tracks... nothing worked. Does this happened to you too? I'm using a DS4, but i hardly doubt that the issue is the joypad, because i tried with different racing games and... nothing, it looks normal.

I just want to delete and reinstall the game again, trying to correct this thing... but it is really necessary to you? My question is, where are my progress saved? The game progresses are saved online, but the replays, the photos, liveries... where are them saved? If i delete the game, how can i save them? I do not want to risk losing them. Thanks a lot.

I wouldn't delete the game, that red dot isn't gforce, it's relaying your steering input.

I would try some contact cleaner on the joypad.

Have you tried changing the controller options so that the steering is with the dpad, just so you can eliminate the game being the issue.

Dang i thought it was me the steering definitely feels off but im gonna change it to motion control and dpad and see if there's a difference

If you delete your save and re-open the game, it will let you download everything again from the server. But you will technically lose what you have made in the livery editor (they will disappear from your library and open design).

By the way, does anyone know the best chance to contact PD?

I think it is an actual issue, because other people experienced this; if you look at the forums you will find some threads arguing on the steering. I personally don't know what caused this tho, there could be many many factors, like the lag, the joypad, the game itself... i tried with the SixAssis Motion control and the Dpad, and suddenly the problem disappeared. It seems to present only with the thumbsticks. This happens to me ONLY while i'm racing online, not practicing... it is very annoying. By the way:

I do not fear to lose anything but the replays. I calculated that they should be around 4500 Mb total, and i cannot find them in the servers. Oh, also i want to initialize the PS4, suggested option by Sony. I also was thinking about making a backup of my PS system for saving them, but restoring a damaged system is just dumb..

By chance is it only when turning left? I have the exact same issue.

Extremely frustrating....

Been procrastinating about getting a new pad, but at £40+ it's a difficult decision.

The issue starts from nowhere, and it seems to happen when you have to use a very strong steering. Personally, it occurs when i turn on the right, making me go straight even at a very low speed. It is absolutely crazy. I don't think the problem could be solved by purchasing a new DS4, because mine just has about 2 months and it is in perfect conditions tho... anyway, i never tried to change controller, maybe it will fix it. Unfortunately, none of my friends just have a PS4, so i can't even try.

Interesting.
Mine is always on left handers. Yours on right. Old pad vs newish pad.

People have suggested phone / TV / general interference, dodgy sticks, the fact headphones are attached...

I think this might infact be a bug(?)

That's what i'm thinking. The game usually crashes or creates bugs, so maybe this could be the source of the problem. It just happens on the right, as i said, and the joypad is just new. I tried to change every in-game setting, but nothing, the thumbstick is unplayable. I watched your thread where people suggested to dodge any interference, but from personal experience i don't think it could be that. In fact on the previous race i tried to move the PS4 out of anything: far away from the Tv, and any object that could create a problem in another room (Wires, old controllers or consoles, even the remote control, and every phone or computer turned off. Oh, and the DS4 very close and in front of me.). But nothing, it changed absolutely nothing, even connecting the joypad with the recharging wire. My theory is that the controls are just infected by some kind of "virus" that the crashes made and not caused by an external factor. I always experience the darn crash CE-34878-0, that damages the game and the system. But as i said this is just a theory and i could be wrong, but my experience is this.

I deleted both saves and didn't lose any replays when I started the game back up. Only thing I lost was liveries in my library and livery editor, but they were still on my cars. I guess it's worth a shot to initialize, I'm not too familiar with backing up saves but I'm sure you can do it.

Have to warn you though, I had a particular issue that I wanted to resolve (problem with my statistics) that I did not have the same problem with on any other account on the same console... So I deleted my saves (didn't initialize) and it hasn't been fixed. I have a feeling like some of these issues are on the server with our accounts, and there might not be anything we can personally do. Please let me know how it goes though. I am wondering if there is a way to contact PD (does Kaz reply on twitter?)

Mmmm that is interesting, i thought that initializing the PS4 my personal replays would have been lost, being saved on the local. So you lost nothing but the liveries?

Unfortunately PD doesn't seem to have a proper Email and if you try to write in this Forum you will receive no message from the assistants of PD, so you need to do one of this things in order to contact them:

1- Find the profile of the CEO Kazunori Yamauchi on Twitter and write to him there on his page, he will probably answer.
2- Email or call Sony by using the contact infos here: http://faq.en.playstation.com/cgi-b...p_lva=846&locale=en_GB&p_pv=1.491&p_prods=491 , and try to explain your problem.

3- Write a letter to PD at the address below:

Polyphony Digital
Tobu Toyosu Bldg 2F.,
1-10-19 Edagawa, Koto-ku,
Tokyo
135-0051
Japan

These are the only possible methods to obtain an answer, an email address for PD shouldn't be bad tho. Hope this helps

I didn't lose any replays thankfully. When you open them in your library, it always starts by saying "downloading" so must all be on the server. If you'd like to test it, you can sign into a different account on your PS4 and save some things, then delete that account's saved data and see what happens when you connect back to the server.

When I logged back in, in my library the car, helmet and suit liveries were gone, and I couldn't "open existing" liveries in the livery editor since they were gone. But they won't be taken off your car (however I'm pretty sure you won't be able to re-apply them). Apart from that though (and my music settings) all settings and practically everything else I am aware of were exactly the same.

Thanks I'll look into them.

Thanks a lot, i'll try that out for sure. Hope that methods are effective to contact them, but atleast one of them should work. The hand-written letter i think is the slowest, but anyway

Since my last post PD have fixed the issue where you would lose your livieries. All my liveries have come back (on both accounts I tried this on). Maybe they are reading this, who knows :)

Edit: But you still can't open the liveries in the livery editor, they show up in my library though.
