Yes really. Like I said it still looks great, I'm not saying it's bad, but it's not the same as the trailer which is probably supersampled with a ton of effects. Just be wary of believing the trailers are representative of gameplay, is all I'm saying. Those, along with official screenshots, will always be ahead of the real gameplay.

Your previous sentence made it look like the difference was huge.
Sure, the trailer always looks more "perfect", but, judging from youtube, the difference isn't that big.

Don't underestimate the difference between 4K, HDR and 1080P. Speaking from experience, it's significant.

I'm more concerned with them not downgrading the car and track model/texture detail than the fancy lighting. GTs lighting is already pretty nice without HDR. Plus, I don't play on a large enough screen to justify 4K, 1080p is enough.

If only motion blur was also available to enable for gameplay! then it would look even realer and not game-ish. Because when the camera switches to gameplay well you see clearly a game. but that replay looks pretty real !

To use HDR on the either the PS4 or PS4 Pro you just need a 'HDR10' compatible TV (not 'Dolby Vision HDR').

The HDR10 and Dolby Vision HDR standards require at a minimum 4k resolution, which is why you don't see either standard being supported on a 1080p TV set.

This is pointed out by others in this thread, but the PS4 HDR support won't work with TV's that only support Dolby Vision HDR - to my knowledge of the major TV brands this only includes TCL.

Hisense, LG, Samsung, Sharp, Sony, and Vizio all support HDR 10.

LG and Vizio are the only two manufacturers supporting both HDR standards to my knowledge.

Interestingly, Dolby Vision HDR supports 10,000 nits and BT.2020 - just as PD announced they are targeting with GT Sport. HDR10 maxes out at 4,000 nits and DCI-P3. Though, we are still several years away from a consumer grade television that can support the entire Dolby Vision HDR standard (let alone HDR10).

HDR10 complies to SMPTE ST2084 (effectively allowing up to 10,000 nits in luminance levels). It also uses a BT.2020 container.

The real world use of lower specs in both peak luminance and colour gamut is dictated by legacy industry standards (such as P3 primaries) and the lack of existing hardware to display them at this point in time. In that regard, PD's approach to HDR could be considered as slightly overzealous.

Those new replays....my God. Like we are actually approaching TV broadcast quality. PS5 or PS6 should finally seal the deal. But yeah, this first, and my in one year bought huge HDR 4K OLED TV and my PS4Pro will love it as I do.

If you go to screen settings..this is a standard ps4

Oh...well hell, there goes that myth

Dont take him serious, he would tell you it looks bad even if it would be real life footage (labeled as gt gameplay) just because of the reason its gran turismo...

Actually:

So there you go, case in point. Those look very good but nowhere close to the trailer and bullshots.

You should really cease the attacking. Easily makes you look bad, especially when you make you make up fiction like that just to make someone else look bad.
