Welcome aboard! You have a bit of time to figure out what car you like. You won't be locked in until the first official race of the season, which is the 27th (this goes for everyone who's signed in). We're going to run a practice room Tuesday night, so I recommend buying a few and trying them out. They each have their own advantages and disadvantages.

Were these regs made with oil changes on the cars? My integra and BMW are the only ones that match the hp and pp. The other 4 cars have 1 or 2 more pp at the hp reg for them.

Thank you for bringing that up, they were made without oil changes.

Is it ok to use them with oil changes since we will have to change the oil after 200 miles anyways?

I see that this was a slight oversight in setting up the regulations. I will allow oil changes, and I'll change the specs sheet to reflect them. If you have different power and performance figures to what's listed, you can send them to me and I'll confirm them on my end.

With an oil change the pp needs to be raised to at least 501 minimum. I did one on my Miata and it brought the pp up to 501. I don't think an oil change should be used. Reasoning for that is because we have been testing and tuning without it. Even though it is only a little bump in power it can change the whole dynamic of tuning each car. Lap differences are also about a second faster on the tracks I tested the Miatas on.

Just giving my 2 cents on this one.

Ah, one of the screwy headaches of Gran Turismo...

So I have performed an oil change on the car list. Yes, it does alter everything, but at about the same rate. Each car has roughly 7 PP and 14 hp added. And the cars are definitely faster. But ozwheels is right, once you complete the oil change and try to lower the hp, you get a different PP value than what is listed. And from the small bit of testing I've done, if you do lower the hp down, you still get a faster lap time.

Since all the cars are effected about the same, I have no problem with raising the limit a little bit. They are still competitively close in times. So I'm all for giving it a shot for this week's activities. The new limit would be at 501, as that is the highest of the group.

Post Oil Change:
CRZ -- 497pp, 300hp
Miata -- 501pp, 266hp
Scirocco -- 496pp, 341hp
Integra -- 499pp, 337hp
BMW -- 493pp, 337hp
Toyota -- 499pp, 359hp

Hi flip, because I am a person who likes to play fair play, wants to inform about the situation after changing the oil in my integra.

the car has a 499PP and 346HP, power limit is a little larger than specified by you when i change the oil, if I have anything to do with it let me know.

Hmm... PP is the same, so I wonder if it's doing that because you're in a different language and the game is in different units of measure. (I'm guessing, but it looks like it's in Polish). What does KM mean/stand for?

I checked the power units in Poland and the USA on the internet, and 346KM in poland means 341 BHP in USA.

Yeah, there does appear to be some kind of weird conversion factor between the two, so you're probably okay. Have you tried to work with any other cars? Do they come out any different?

so after changing the oil in all cars available in the championship the PP and HP looks like this

CR-Z has a 497 PP and 300HP
Miata has a 501PP and 266HP
Scirocco has a 495PP and 351HP
Integra has a 499PP and 341HP
BMW has a 493PP and 337HP
Toyota has a 499PP and 360HP

this is my list, a below is your list

So oil change allowed, it might change some people's opinions if we are allowed too. Ill probably stick to my car though

I really hate to keep flip - flopping on this, but I do want to make sure I get it right.

Miata does bring up a good point, all of our data up to this point has been collected oil change free. And the racing is already very close as is, so maybe we shouldn't mess with anything.

When I did the change to my Honda, the game said it had done 540 some odd miles, and everything was in good condition. So no oil change may be the way to go.

You'll have to buy a lot of cars if you don't do oil changes. The regs after an oil change don't affect one car more than another and the laps times have the same gap between them other than BMW which was over a second slower with or without oil change.

Just my 2 cents on it... Oil Change is allowed. but doesnt matter to me, either way i think the racing is going to be close and interesting.

The More Testing, The Better!

Thats why there is Pre-Season

Thanks!

You know, what the hell? Points rounds don't start for another week, and now that we have a good amount of interest building, I think this is a good week to try a little tweak in the regs. Let's try it out tomorrow night and Thursday, and see how it works out.

And The Party Begins!! :sly:

Does anyone else think the BMW is slower? I want to drive it but I don't know if I'm missing something about it to make it as fast as the others.

I think you're right, the BMW is a little slower. It is the heaviest, and although it's very stable, it feels a bit lazy. So I've quickly come up with an alternate tuning if you want to try it:

Only add a Stage 2 Turbo (Mid RPM) and Racing Exhaust.

Your horsepower should still be at 337hp, but your PP is now up to 500 (probably because the turbo is giving you a little extra torque.) Try that out, it may keep it up in the mix a little better. Other than that, I find keeping the downforce as low as you can on it and making sure your gears aren't too tall helps with this car. I haven't spent that much time with this car to get a good tune for it.
