GT Tuning Skills (An Honest Question)

I see, I think making B-Spec driver drifting a difficult to drift car would be a real challenge :). Or making B-Spec improve his control by tuning for it.

Making B-spec improve control is fairly easy. But to force them to drift? Much harder! Since they normally try to grip race, forcing them to drift should only force them to go slower, to maintain grip. I don´t know this though, since I never tried it. It´s just a qualified guess.

First off, I just want to mention that theoretical best laps computed by AI would probably be inaccurate.
Forza tries that with estimates of suspension performance and from time to time I find the computer will rate a suspension with less capability but I will be able to drive it much faster than the original.
That said, I'm not worried about theoretical best laps unless it's a GT driver saying "I hit _____ @ T2, with a good T1 I could end up with _____".
Now that's theoretical best laps. :sly:

Remember how badly people destroy the license times if you think PD has any clue as to how fast racers can take a car around the track.
Gold License Time In Game Was Approximately 1'27.850, Every WRS Racer Beat That. Some By As Much As 2 Full Seconds!
On the subject of the question... Do leaderboard leaders use the knowledge from the tuning forums?
No, they use their personal knowledge of exploiting the tuning system to produce the fastest lap times possible.

My belief is that the fastest racers use either their own setup or the setup of another racer who is as fast (or one from within the group).

Or making B-Spec improve his control by tuning for it.

if you watch him carefully in chase you can see where he gets the biggest problem and why, probably understeer/oversteer. The hard thing is to do a setup that AI can drive at different paces. Pace 5 is almost never the fastest... one pace change equals lots of setup work though

Your original thoughts were better, Kent. :sly:

Why the turnaround?

I felt like they could be offensive and I just didn't feel like going through the trouble of defending myself.
Just knowing you saw them and enjoyed them is quite enough for me. :D
Thanks for the supportive words though, I'll keep that in mind next time I've gotta break-off some truth for the suckas. :sly:

I think I should try to make B-Spec driver drift Falken GTR next. Finding setup for pace 5 B-Spec would be a good challenge too :).

I think the reason AI do not do so good because the programmer has to spare computing power for other thing, and has to settle with optimum solution. It wouldn't be viable solution if the AI has to think some hour ahead before turning (like chess game, to calculate many step ahead). If PD use the time set by the perfect AI, I don't think we mortal can beat that (this make me remembering how I can't replicate the very efficient launch of GT2 B-Spec). They shouldn't make the game too hard or too easy.

About exploiting the tuning system, it would be a really good thing if those exploit also true in real life.
