Welcome to Round 1 of the 2002 FRI All Japan 4WD Championships! This week we'll be qualifying/racing at Seattle Circuit. This will last from 2/17/02 - 2/21/02

2nd. 4pts add 0:00.400 seconds to total race time
3rd. 4pts add 0:00.300 seconds to total race time

6th. 2pts add 0:00.050 seconds to total race time

An awesome run guys! Tom and Mike Mack. was very close to each other. That's maybe a half car length. Fue, I, was surprized that i got a 1:24.500. That was my fastest from running about almost 20 laps. Sorry that Reese didn't finish.

for gaining points for the top speed, does your speed have to be from your fastest lap? or can you gear for a straight and get the car as fast as possible while doing a ****ty lap?

Oh yea, i'm super glad that your keeping the points system in small numbers, that way i'll have a chance of catching a few of these guys through the first threeish rounds...lol :D

gaining pts for top speed will come from your fastest lap in the race, not qualify.

you can submit a faster time later if you want. i'm keeping a record of it as i get your e-mails and PM's. That way i can keep track of old an new times.

now i have to qualify and race. i haven't yet. good luck to you guys and me. hehee
 
the race isn't until wednesday right???!!! you guys are racing now and i'm confused...lol sorry if i seem like a dolt, the results from my iq test came back negative, so don't mind me. :D

It's okay Mike...I was in the same boat you are. I'm like "Hey, I thought we weren't racing until..?? :confused:" And anyway, if you have a question it's always better to just ask and get the understanding if you have the chance to, right? :thumbsup:

When's the latest we can get our qualify submissions in by, Fuji? :scared: Like, what time today (Monday)?
 
I'm not sure, but i sent mine in already. i think its midnight my time(8PM fuji time me thinks, but i could be wrong).

EDIT: i just checked the FRI website( http://www.geocities.com.fuji_racing ) and his initial post, found no time. so i'd say just make sure you get your time in before tommorow. like i said, i'm not taking any chances, mines been submitted already. besides, send one in now to be safe, and if you better it, send in the better one if you have time.

how was your time? anyone break into the 1:24.xxx's? Nothing like making your opponets feel secure about their times....lol i'm gonna get smoked here me thinks. Let's go to Red Rock Valley.

:eek: ......"break into the 1:24:xxx's"??? Aha. Well, this should make you feel better, Mike. I spent a good portion of Sunday and some of Monday as well, racing & adjusting, and I did manage to whittle my time down....to below 1.30.xxx...

I kind of thought, with the times posted for the special stage race that I was out of my league, but ah, that about says it I think.
So, I guess you're right...nothing like making your opponets feel secure about their times
 
nevermind adjusting your setup. your driving a 4WD car, so crank up the spring rate, and the stabilizers to near full(not full, that sucks); and do heaps of laps working on your line through the corners. Find the fastest line through every turn before you even consider changing the setup. The evo should hit at least 1:26.xxx times.
another tip is to crank the brake controller to max on front and back. the cars have abs, and that means the brakes have full power to stop the car(necessary for tracks like this where late braking is key).

i also noticed not many people are blabing about their times...that's a bad omen in my books. people confident in their times are usually the quiet ones....and there's a awful lot of quiet people here.....lol :)
 
i like having the brake power a little heavier in the back so i can whip it around easier

I have a 1:24... just not in qualifying..:D... Lapping here is a b!tch Really dropped off my times..

Next race will be the first race I get to fully devote my time to. My other series are over.

tom, i'll get ya in the race...i just ran one, its easy to be consistant over 10 laps...so it should be a dandy.

all in all, i'm happy with fourth. i've improved since, and am aiming for 2nd(1:24.500 is a bit much me thinks, thats faster then all my best sectors)

i didn't check your times, but at least you have a slow car...i'm gettin beat by a guy driving the same car as me(soundly i might add).

Either way, Mitsubishi's have always been good at bringing up the rear...lol jk

I don't like Mitsubishi's myself, except for the 3000 GT. And the lancer rally cars in GT2.
 
Don't be so hard on yourself Mike ;) I've spent more time in On-Line Racing over the past few years than should be legally allowed without being committed to a mental hospital... hopefully things will get better for Team Audi at Midfield. I just finished up my other series, and we can take the race to Fuji there.
 
Fogulhund, i'm no stranger to OLR myself, although i am a newbie to gt2(i got it this christmas). I have been playing the original GT since the day it came out...so i do have every reason to be disappointed. yas are a fast crowd, that's for sure tho!!!
GST got canned, so both audi drivers are gonna be going flat out... this should be a dandy race! :)
