4th should have been much taller...probably 1.1xx instead of 1.340

That, I believe, is true of any GT2 version. PD didn't have enough time to make truely accurate limits for car types (a mistake they're still repeating occasionally in GT5 btw), therefore, it's possible to enter a Corvette in the Station Wagon races, and stuff like that.

Yeah im remembering now, it was really funny to gear that beast i was thinking that it was real feature to somehow boost acceleration In real life. I was silly kid and trusted PD.

I've read somewhere in other threads, that the actual ratio is 1.034, so somebody must have hit the numbers in incorrect order. Happens to me quite often aswell, but i dont have been paid for it :)

Oh yeah, I figured out I have version 1.0 a while ago. I haven't noticed that many glitches in my game though other than the carwash glitch and the fact that a ford gt40 shows up on rome circuit in the historic car cup despite the hp limit. Oh well, I kick it's ass with a fully tuned honda civic or my tuned Infiniti G20 '96.

Could the pal & NTSC-J versions of GT2 work on an american PS2? I want to buy either one to look at the differences between them and the NTSC(US) version that I have.

Hm.. I think even GT1 had a v1.1 ..?

Anyways, I fired up the bleem!cast again (enhanced PS1 on the Dreamcast, that commercial emulator that hit store shelves). I only acquired the first three licenses, saved, quit to menus and power off.

Next day, it cannot be loaded, corrupt. What's very odd is that I even saved a replay file, both replays I saved load + play just fine.

I'm very baffled about this. I never bought anything either, all I did was the first three license tests with two replays out of them, only the replays load, while game progress claims it's corrupt

I have the case + all booklets, it seems recent, I just don't know which version I have + what to avoid / expect.

Saves/loads were never an issue on my PS1. I have tons of progress and many hours put into it; I just don't understand why it did this to me running on bleem!cast

Speaking of a version-related issue: were the Mark Martin Taurus RM available in Japan (read: Japanese version of GT2)?

well I have an report on the psp version of GT2 ver 1.1
-No signs of the Garage Bug
-The Car Wash Bug is still there
-Why I still have #6 Mark Martin Taurus?
-Venturi Atlantique 300GT has an carbon driveshaft option
-No signs of the M12 LM in TM30
-including the GT40 historical cup
-license requirements in Muscle Car Cup is fixed
-other misspelling errors is fixed

Mind , blown

With the bleem!cast Gran Turismo 2 emulator for Dreamcast you can pop in both discs to see if bug alert highlights red

If it does not , congratulations your Sim disc is v1.2 and your Arcade disc is v1.1 (what changes were done to Arcade?)

And never mind my previous posts here .. I had a really wonky setup and a Dreamcast that was about to kick the bucket

I would also like to know how to tell if my Arcade disc is version 1.0 or 1.1 (apparently they have never done 1.2 to arcade disc)
My both (US) simu discs are 1.0 so i think i have 1.0 arcade discs too.

Here is what I was talking about @Sonygamer455 - 3 Disks, 1 with extra in game content on. Have no clue how rare this edition is now.

Seizing the opportunity: does anyone here own a copy of the Platinum Edition of GT2? If yes, I'd like to see some definitive proof that it has a newer revision of the PAL version where it actually checks for the car's nationality when entering the GT National and Euro/Pacific League events. I've seen this mentioned here, but no pictures or any other sort of proof were provided.

I bought a Platinum copy a couple of months back, it definitively has no differences at all in the content on either disc. I removed the comment about the nationality checks from TCRF as it's not true.

I just got back from browsing GameShark's site and they listed 4 different versions of GT2.

Does anyone here know:

1) What are the differences between the various versions and more importantly,
2) How do you determine which version that you have?

I wouldn't be surprised if one or more versions were only different in their packaging (the Greatest Hits Edition, for instance), but I'd really like to know.

I've got a Japanese set, an NTSC set that has a strange bug, and a pirate NTSC set that I bought as a sort of 'backup' for the goofy one.

=========

The strange bug, by the way, is that it hangs sometimes when I try to go to certain manufacturers' tuning pages and attempt to tune certain cars. For instance if I buy a Dodge Challenger, it hangs, but if I buy a Dodge Charger it doesn't. Like I said - goofy. There are other bugs, but that one is the most exasperating.

For the record, I am not one to condone or encourage piracy, but it took 3 months for the goofy set to get to me and I wasn't looking forward to another 6 months of waiting (3 months out, and 3 more back) just to have the same problem repeat...

GKP

I realized that the European version (PAL) is faster in the loading of buying parts of cars and cars. And to do up to 113% completed the game. And some game shark codes are annoying have to put control 2 on the device and press R1 and R2 together.
