Well, since GT4 is out for the US and on its way for Europe and Australia. I felt that we needed a memorable moments thread, to remember the good times we had in GT3.
So post away!

My most memorable moment would of been breaking out of Seattle Circuit. I tried for months to do it then I finally did it and I was so proud of my self. :dopey:

When I won my first F1 car. I had started an endurance race (I think Laguna) and was miles infront at about three quaters of the way through, but then went out to meet my friends. I got back in at about 2am drunk as a skunk and decided to finish it off. I was spinning out everywhere and it took me a while to get to the end. Once I had one it I thought "that's it, I'm going to bed now". But what do I win? an F1 Car!!! I just had to stay up a bit longer to test it out and it was fantastic. The next morning I sat in with a hangover and relaxed while blasting round the track! That was a good weekend!

One of my most memorable moments was the first time I saw my own drift replay with MB CLK 55 on Trial Mountain. It was just great to watch that sliding and all ...

The top one is in my signature - 1st try on IA7 license ... :D

Mine had to be completing the last of the enduro races or maybe it was beating the F1 Championship.

completing the tokyo 100 lap race therefore completing all endurance with gold
getting a time on deep forest of under a minute

most memerable moment:

last lap on tokyo endurance race. Did a spin across the finish line then realized it wasn't the last lap. Got passed on the real last lap.

has to be finding GTP because I wanted to learn about setting up cars in GT3..

I'm like the friend who just broke up with his GF and asks if he can spend a "couple of nights" on your couch - and then suddenly it's been 2.5 years....

I should leave....

Thanks - But I'm starting to think GT4 might end this...

Hitting "New Posts" and not seing one thread started, or finished, by a known name - after 2.5 years... I'm think getting too old for this....

How old are you may I ask?

1. First time I won Passage To Colloseo Endurance race in a Mini! 👍

2. Discovering the WRS. That breathed a whole new lease of life into the GT3 experience, its like having a whole new licence test to get gold on, every week!

Has to be managing to pass the Complex String Time Trial in the RGT, although after a while I knew Complex String like the back of my hand. But it isn't in GT4 :(

Beyond the big 3 Oo my friend... unfortunately...

So what? You are as old, as you feel, and if you like to drive GT series, you don't need to go away.

0o0o.. Time for the new racing generation to move in ;)

47 next month and still whuppin' most of the whippersnappers... :mischievous:

My most memorable moment was Race Adminning the first ever Formula Gran Prix OLR championship over at the old GTF. AFAIK, it was the first OLR race series using the GT3 Formula cars, and by all accounts was quite successful.

Pulling a wheelie in a GT-One at 2200km/h...

Beating a Dodge Viper, AC Cobra, Corvette Z06 etc. in a Mini in 3 laps around Laguna Seca.

Realising I'm setting up my cars wrong, and suddenly finding all my understeer woes vanish.

Watching my first Vanquish's replay around Deep Forest II. Stunning.

Driving a Polyphony001 for the first time.

Watching the opening titles and hearing the Feeder track kick in.

Winning my first F1 Car (Polyphony 001) on the Super Speedway Endurance Race then taking it for a spin around Midfield - "**** me, this thing can move!"

For me it has to be discovering the sim tyres! Always thought they were a waste of space in the game, I could drift good on slicks-i was deluded though-gave my car some new shoes and saw exactly what these cars could do sideways!

My most memorable moment in GT3 was the first time I played the game through, I had a blue MR2 Spyder which needed a top speed boost for some race or another, so I bought myself the full racing transmission and headed onto the machine test to do a top speed run and set the ratios... Imagine my joy when I discovered the transmission noise for the first time! THAT was an awesome moment, I fell in love with the game immediately!

Favorite moments in GT3 :-

Whuuppin my 10 yr old daughter, who was driving a Dodge viper, in a Mini in arcade mode.

Attempting TT10, looking in the rear view mirror and not seeing my ghost who was less than 0.5s off the gold time.

Any time I race in Monaco and accelerate down the short straight to Mirabeau.

But my most memorable moment in GT is from GT2. I got GT2 free with the playstation we bought for christmas one year. I spent a number of days fiddling around in arcade mode. Then I tried out sim mode. I bought a used Honda Prelude and took three goes just to win the first race. Eventually I was able to win the Sunday and Clubman Cup series. In GT2 you don't win a prize car for those series.

I had a go at the FF challenge and it was tough. I put all the money I won for my various 2nd and 3rd places into upgrades for the Prelude. I Look at the all the races I had to do and the cost of cars and how much money I'm making and I think 'this is going to take forever'. And then I won the first race in the FF series and was awarded my FIRST car. The black accord.

I started yelling 'I won a car, ohmigod I won a car...'. My wife runs into the family room : 'What's the matter?' 'Honey, look, I won a car'. She wasn't impressed. But then I realized that maybe I could win more cars...that was a late night.
