GT3 or 4?

Hi. I’m new here and I just wanted to ask for some advice. I just dug out my PS2 it’s been in storage for about 4 years and am going to start playing GT again. I have GT3 and GT4. The GT4 I just bought. I have played GT3 some years ago. What I was wondering is should I play 3 or 4? Which game is better? By the way I just got a new DFGT wheel and can’t wait to use it.

If you have a DFGT the question is a no brainer, GT4 for sure as it recognizes the 900 degree rotation properly.

Yeah, as Car-Less has started to point out, GT3 has advantages. Actually, BOTH games have things that make one better than the other:

GT3:
Much better replay system.

Route 11

Drifting, and oversteer in general, is easier

Much lower learning curve, especially in the Beginner League races, which are so damn easy!

Better menu system. It takes much less time to navigate around.

GT4
TONS more cars. Vintage, classic, specialty, concepts, Australian cars, more European & American cars,....and on and on....

TONS more tracks. More variety in the events themselves, too.

More challenging from the get-go (if you're into a good challenge).

B-spec races allow you to take a different perspective.

Nitrous!

....and on and on...

GT4 is infinitely better, but if you want to turn your brain off and drift for a few hours, days, weeks... GT3 has its appeal.

GT4 will give you, ultimately, more replayability because of the banzai variety of tracks.

I reckon GT4 because it is more of a challenge, features more cars and tracks and has B-Spec mode to handle those longer (and more boring) races.

I actually prefered GT3 over GT4. I think the game mechanics were better. I also miss SS Rt 11 and Rome. Sucks Poly removed them in gt4

I preferred GT3 over 4 for playability. There were too many mickey mouse events in GT4 that were just fill-ins. I'm actually going to fire up GT3 right now and start a new profile, because I have just bought a decent wheel and I'm hankering for as much practice as I can get with it!

:)

GT4 man.👍 All the US muscle cars and Aussie cars are in GT4, GT3 had jack all.

i really really enjoyed the test track in GT3

you know the one in the home section. the one that pretty much has every kind of turn you would ever encounter.....

I found that very handy for tuning suspension. 1 lap, and you get a great feel of the car

in gt4, I use midway circuit. It has a good combo of different turns you will encounter

(high speed S's, long sweeper, banked corners, double apex stuff)

its a very enjoyable racetrack. its much better in gt4 then in gt3 too

OH! I thought you meant the actual test track. You're talking about Complex String
