Great Ayhan.

Its Tuned series
You will run at 310 Bhp and will qualify and start the race on RH tyres
but can run any tyres after.

Normal race rules No bumping etc
See you later tonight
Qualy starts at 18.15 UK
Race starts at 19.00 UK for 90 minutes

Well, how will the Qualification be done? On the GT6 Normal Qualification?

Qualifying will start at 18:15 uk Normal duration is 10 minutes - Qualy alone - pit start

All drivers start and qualy on their settings - yours is 320bhp and RM tyres

After Qualy when the race auto starts - we all quit the race.

We then have 10 minutes and can change the car setup for the race if you want, but you must keep
320bhp and RM tyres for the race start.

I will reset the room 5 minutes before the race starts.
From that point you can only stay in the pitbox - none can go onto the track.

I will then do the BHP tyre checks.

Then i will call drivers to go out and park on the track in the order they qualified in.

Then i will start the race.

The polesitter will take us on a pace lap - at around 80 mph - No overtaking - keeping around 2 car length gaps between cars - on exit of the final corner onto the banking the pole sitter will go to flat out and everyone will do the same.
No overtaking until after the start/finish line.
The race is then green and underway.
After the first green lap any driver can pit and change tyres to whatever they like.

If after half the pace lap, any driver is seen having lag - message SC and the polesitter will respond OK
this will mean we run a second pace lap with the same procedure.

The reason we do this is that will full rooms often there is a bit of lag if we have a normal race start from the grid, as 16 cars data all clog up the server.
This way it gives the server time to settle down.

Also restarting your router before starting the game, and then clearing the cashe in game before joininig the room helps a lot.

I am often asked why we dont go green at the end of the pace lap at the start line rather than when we exit the final corner.

The reason is that on the straight, many people GO before they get to the start line, this then means stewards have to watch replays to ensure everything is fair and noone gets any advantage.
As it is , we Go exiting the final bend, means that it is not really possible to go early, as you have to wait until you are exiting the corner before you go flat out.
This keeps the cars spaced out well and is the fairest way, we have used it for many series, so its a tried and tested way.

Hope that explains everything.

The most important thing to remember is that its a long 90 minute race, and cant be won in the first bend.

Also it is very important we all treat other drivers fairly and give others room when overtaking and being overtaken.

The reason we do the pace lap is to help get rid of any lag

Thanks for the clarification, Logic- And yes: the race cannot be won already at first corner, yes.

The Qualify at 18:15 reminds me of the Pre-Qualify that I have made back in BTCC-7.

And if we would do the Standing Start, it would become much problematic, so, the Rolling Start is much better in my Opinion.

I just turned off the PS3, so, I'll review the replay tommorrow. I'm free from Online Racing Series tommorrow, therefore, I should be able to see the in which lap the incident happened.

Great to see so many people make it to the race !
count me in next week ! ;)
Yes it was fantastic, i am so so pleased.
We started with 16, poor Jon dropped with his router, and speedy with about 15 minutes left ? dont know, but still to finish with 14 was great.

Hey Lozza, that incident you're referring to was on lap 24, I was trying to stay in front of you so I can pit, that's when you stuck your nose of your car to the inside as I was trying to pit. I do apologize. Really no way of letting you know I was going to pit. :)

I'm not going to file an official report, as it's only a test race!

However if anyone wants a lesson in what you shouldn't do when a faster car is trying to lap you then watch the replay from my car, lap 47 - lap 50 :)

Besides all that, I had fun tonight. An exciting race, in hindsight I shouldn't have gone for the 2 stop strategy, it was slow haha! But atleast I know for the real races now. I'm glad I gave it a shot! I don't think I would have had any chance of beating Erazer either way! Nice little battle with Chris at the end too, good move by him on the brakes round the outside into turn 1 on the last lap!

Also I think the tyre penalties worked well here, hopefully this will be the same at other tracks too, and keep the races interesting for the rest of the season!

Gutted I'm going to miss Laguna and Suzuka, two of my preferred circuits. But I'll hopefully be back for round 3 ready to try to catch Erazer! :)
