JAGUAR
Logitech Driving Force Pro.
ahhhh 900 degrees of circular goodness...

i don't have it yet... but will be getting it with my copy of GT4... tried it out at an import shop with PAL prologue... sensational!!! But i don't have a modded PS2 so no soup for me, and no prologue either :grumpy:

i can understand if SCEA thinks americans would get confused over which version of GT they were playing but us Canucks are fairly intelligent... hell we even understand and use the metric system :sly:

The problem with the bumper view or a potential dashboard view is that while in a real car you can turn your head and look around, there is no such option in any racing game. Therefore the bumper view is actually very unrealistic (Though it's a great rush when you're inebriated). Therefore from a fixed vantage point, a more zoomed out view like the rear camera is actually more realistic, because you can see more of the road.

So you like to drive your road car pirched 10 metres from the rear :)

Although you can look around in real life you are still really only looking trough the front windscreen. You only look through the side windows if you are overtaking, turning etc.

In compettion cars, particulalry sportscar/GT and touring cars you have very limited side views because either the cockpit is very small (Le Mans sportscar) or you are seated very low and far back (GT, touring car).

Did you guys see this?

"I've always been aware of the fact that this viewpoint was something users looked for in a racing game, but I always try to recommend the drivers' viewpoint. But by looking at the trends and characteristics in gamers who select viewpoints, I think although drivers' viewpoint is key, this new view was important to answer the needs of the users."

"And to answer your question regarding any additional camera angles - I am considering a rooftop camera."

A certain president comes to mind regarding PD's attitude to North america. Say no more...

A rooftop or bonnet camera would be ideal, i have been waiting since the beginning for a camera view like that. I usually end up using the bumper cam just because it's the lesser of the two evils (in GT3). Off topic now, how many more more Gran Turismo's will we have to see before a VR headset is used to place you inside the car ?

I read the article and I think KY it's CRAZY saying this:

"... it's easier than the other viewpoint behind the car that sways. Obviously because with fixed it is easier to visualise or see the course..."

Only becouse he think its good view point we have do play with this s...???!

I hope they add some new cameras or the game is fu**ed!

Only because he thinks it's good do you have the ability to play one of the most fully featured and realistic games ever, in any genre. Don't forget that ;)

Yes, you can have all the best options, all the best tracks all the best graphics you want but for people like me that uses exterior views all these things became 0!

I think cameras in simulation game are very important.

F1 2003 has an in cockpit view that moved the camera angle towards the coner as you approach it, I find this gives a great view of the apex and makes for a better driving experience. Maybe PD can put in a slightly mobile in car view.

You may or may not know, a while ago now (early 90s I think), Nintendo produced a console called the virtual boy that was a VR headset, but the few players who bought one complained of health problems even after relatively short use. Technology still needs to advance a lot more before something like that is practical. Gran Turismo 7 i reckon the earliest, possibly 8 or even as far as 10, i don't know.

Not everyone is going to be happy with the limited range of given camera views. :(

If you had a fully configurable camera view, almost everyone would be happy. :) If you had a decent incar view surely everyone would be happy. :) :)

That's not too much to ask from a video game in 2004, is it ?
