Is it just me ??? Believe me, I love Gran Turismo. Just talk to my wife and she'll tell you how much time I spend playing GT4 instead of spending time with her or our 3 kids. But who's got time to race for 24 hours? How does someone complete a race like that? I might be able to get away with the 8 and 9 hour endurance races, but 24??? And there's 3 races that are 24 hour endurance races. That's 72 hours that I'll never get back. Someone please explain to me how these races get finished.

Ok this seemed like the best place for this. Here's the deal, i need two (2) Nissan 300ZX 2-seaters, one black, one red, as late a year as possible. my question to you guys is, A) does anyone know the exact week during the used car cycles that i can pick up these cars in these colors? or B) do any of you ntsc guys out there have a max drive and at least one of these cars on a save you wouldnt mind handing me?

[EDIT]

A few more questions to anyone with these cars in there possesion. Can it be equiped with a wing, and how much hp does it make at full tune?

I believe it was RogsUK and Famine did a big Spreadsheet of the cars showing up in certain colors and the exact weeks also in the car lots, They're located in the GT4 search engine I'm sure, Good luck.

Mine wouldn't work too well for NTSC... Look in this forum's stickies though - there IS an NTSC used car rotations list, but I haven't looked to see if the colours are incorporated.

They arent. (well, last i checked) Thats why i'm asking. Also, i was hoping i could get some generous, max-drive-owning member to come along and save me from having to start up a new save and advance it through the days so that i can purchace these cars. But... well yeah. Anyway, thanks in advance to anyone who can help me out here.

[EDIT]
Nevermind, they are. Still, can anyone answer any of my other questions? Plus, a tidy little save would still be nice.

Who says GT4 hasn't got rice? Take the Blitz ER34 to anywhere the lights are on and you'll see side skirt neon "balls" and huge radiator/grille neon lighting... (it's blue, by the way)

👎 (at the neons, I like the car)

i have this problrem in cornering. if i got balls out and try and go thru it i end up running off track. but if i try to slow it down i go too slow and i lose too much time. i dont have it on all tracks . but i try not so much breaking and using downshifting for momentum and see if that works , i so sum what better but it only improves me .800 at the most and i still think theres a faster method. i kno the better i get ill learn . but i still think theres a better way even the skill level im out now. any tips?
-thanks

i got an FC with exhaust , turbo , chip , suspension . if that helps . all i got now

well I wasnt sure where to put this but this is just my rant. I dont expect to be flamed tho, I'm a Granturismo fan at its fullest. been playing since the first one came out. before that was ridge racer lol only good car game out at that time. anyways onto my rant. well I was allways happy with the car selection since day 1. there were a few cars every now and then that i wanted to be in there but when i saw there wasnt i was like "shrug" but anyways. Onto this new upcoming GT5 or (Vision Granturismo) whatever it be called in the end. These are some things i wish to see. first off is a finished product. GT1 was the only really i guess finished one out of the group. GT2 was suppose to have a drag strip. but at the last minute they took the drag strip out. "hence if you ever wondered why there was 2 drag cars and no drag course. lol.

GT3 was suppose to be online, and have a drag course. which both ended up being taken out, especially the online at the last minute. same with GT4 we got the drag track but not for 2 player lol. and last but not least in 4 we couldnt save our Multi player replays. And lets not forget about the Screen bounce and choppyness in GT4 as well. I mean don't get me wrong I love these games to death. I just think on the aspect of a game they left out some key elements. 1 is the physics arent a "sim" a Sim is GT legends or Live For Speed. (not need for speed) those have the best "sim" feel. the reasons Gran turismo lacks sim feel is well. that was proven on top gear. he ran a time on laguna Seca in an NSX and was about 20 seconds off from his time on Gran Turismo 4. said there was no way he could achieve 20 seconds better , the brakes were allready smoking from his lap.

2nd i agree with that other guys post about the tire wear. yeah whats up with that ? lol 3 laps + on circuit de la sarthe and you've got red tires in a formula 1 car ? hah yeah. anyways. one thing I understand why they left out but I really would have liked to see since about GT3 was tire marks. when you do a burnout. its just white smoke. granted GT series is the best sim for console. but it just needs some work. and they really need to bump up the " sim " up a notch. hopefully with blue-ray and them having 20-50gb worth of data to play with (50gb for dual side) i think they should put arcade on side one and sim on side 2. would be good for them.

another thing that made me kind of upset is when you got a car in GT4 some of them you cant race in arcade but are there for you to look at. 2nd was how you cant race your own cars from your memory card in single race in arcade either. but hopefully this will all change again with blue-ray and them having way way better technology to work with. and from what ive seen from the screenshots and the E3 demo you can race bikes and i REALLY hope you can race those in 2player mode against cars. I would really like that alot , I would also like "real" parts to chose from. not "race exhaust" that adds 30hp to your car when no exhaust adds 30hp to a car. I would like brand name parts. like they do with the rims. that would be superb.

anyways by now i bet you all think i hate the GT series but i dont, I love them all , I just wish they would have spent a little bit more time thinking them out and doing other stuff with them and delivering a working title with nice features such as online as they said , drag strips as they said and MP replays in 4, those sorts of things. I mean its a real bummer when you race your friend and you cant save your replay :( well this concludes my rant. I Just hope GT5 or whatever its gonna be called ends up delivering with out screen jutter. fully functional MP replays , racing ALL the cars in game in MP, racing bikes against cars would be great as well. a pit crew that you can talk too via mic/headset would be increadable (But i wont push my luck for that) lol, and some good ol authentic parts and Tiremarks I would be happy. and for the love of god change the tire squeel sounds. its the same over and over again, and the engine noises arent even close to the originals only like 3 cars out of the bunch had similar sounds. well anyways let me know your opinions on this rant. as i think most of you will feel the same but im open to talk about other suggestions as well.

thanks ,

Justin

Yikes!

Paragraphs would have made that a whole lot easier to read - but let me just drag one bit out:

He was using a different car (NSX in real life, NSX Type R '02 in GT4) and said HE couldn't run any faster primarily because in the game he knew he wasn't going to die - he did quite the segment in the piece on how racing driver's brains have a flaw where they can disconnect their sense of fear.

Well, you're not alone mate. Many of us agreed with almost all the things you said... and yes, GT is not a finished product.
About the NSX at Laguna (Top Gear), there's a huge thread about that. On this point you were a bit off. But for the rest, you said it all.

We must remember that GT4 uses almost 100% of the PS2 hardware and some things HAD to be excluded. Still, the expectation created before every GT game make things look worse than they really are. Hype is bad!

One thing that would help the game to improve is the fans. We. If the PD guys come to a forum like this, they would get many tips on how to improve the game for the next-gen.
Just a look in the GT5 board can show you what we really want, and they could start from there! Wishes...

But if people from Polyphony Digital came to this forum, they might listen to out pleads for exterior damage or they might just go thinking off their own stuff

Famine

I also think he was using sport tyres in GT4.

I did an experiment to see what GT4 tyres produced a laptime close to Jezza's real-life time, and N2's (IIRC) gave a 1'58ish. Sport tyres produced 1'41s, which is what Jezza lapped in the game.

By the way, I used a '95 NSX Type R.

well in regards to my previous post. http://www.freewebs.com/samssupercarsconcept/GT4/300mph.htm , thats my point. lol noway first off todo 300+ mph in those cars it would of had to of been done before in Real life to know they could handle those speeds , and they cant lol. It's just like in GT4 I can do 209.3mph in my integra with 394hp and NOS. that wont happen lol , in all reality an integra with that much power and a VERY tuned gearbox and aerodynamically fitted to handle those speeds. would maybe achieve 160-170mph. no way allmost 210. lol. I can get my 800+ hp supra ingame to 265mph. the "jun" supra that was worked on for years and years and years to break the 200mph barrier had WELL over 900 HP http://www.exvitermini.com/movies/junjza.mpg It's just it lacks the "sim" feel that i was talkin about in my previous post. granted its the best we have for console and i love the car selection. but facts vs fiction in the game is completely different. we need real physics. if you guys want to play a "sim" try live for speed. or GT legends. It's the closest thing to real thats out. but yeah some stuff just needs to be re done. but I hope 5 delievers the goods. and doesnt have "anything taken out" and has unlimited gameplay like playing all cars in arcade or 2player. etc but yes i love Gran Turismo and i plan to buy every one that comes out but this is just my 2 pennies of info.

That too, and he probably still had the stock S2's and not the "real world" N2's that he shoul have used.

They should do another one!!

I have a question: About how many cars are available in racing mode, and in photo shoot mode? I read that some cars are only available in photo shoot mode and not racing mode (And possiblly vice versa) but I just wanted to know, because i'm getting the game tomorrow (I'm a cheap bastard, horray!)

You should be able to take photomode shots of all cars in the game.

The cars that you can't use in a race are as listed:

Caterham Fireblade
Benz Patent Motor-Wagen
Daimler Motor Carriage
Chrysler Prowler
Toyota Motor Triathlon racecar
Nike One
Jay Leno Tank Car
Auto Union V16 Type C Streamliner '37
Ford Model T

That Prowler pissed me off, ever since the first time I started GT4 up and went browsing throught the dealerships to see what cars were in the game, I was wanting to win the Prowler so I could race it, as it's one of my favorite cars IRL. Imagine my dissapointment when I finally won it in orange (), and tried to take it for a spin...

GT5 better fix this "special car" issue...:indiff:

opendriver19a
The model T is decenly fast for how old it is, I was think about taking it around the ring but then my ps2 died a few hours ago...

By 'die' you mean...?

NOSBLAST
I think he means that it no longer works anymore (duh).

Well, congratulations but I think everyone here already knew that.

I mean die as in why doesn't it 'work' anymore.

the Interceptor
I know the test course is not very popular, but I still like it. Where do you want to do your high speed runs else?

Man wat about the straight on the De La Sarthe II it has a big straight as well and i can hit top speed down it BUT it isnt as smooth but i cant get the same hp out of a car on test track as well as that straight.

Man wat about the straight on the De La Sarthe II

Well maybe if your trying to hit a speed of around 170 Mph it'd be ok, but the straight is way to bumpy if you want to make a speed record for say, the 300Mph Club.

I like Test Course, there is'nt anything bad about it, there's only 3 races on it in GT4, lots of people complain about how crap it is and how it should be removed from the next Gran Turismo.
