Corvette
I think the list has a lot of errors.

No Ferrari and no Porsche has been confirmed as of yet and there are a lot of supposition in it.

Did you bother to read the color codes?

This has been mentioned a dozen time. PD have been unable to acquire the licencs for any of these exotics for the past three games. Including them would be a very big thing.

Now tell me - do you really think PD would be stupid enough to announce that they're in? Wouldn't they want to keep it a surprise?!

GILLET
Sorry theres some screenies for that but you gotta look for them there was one with Pablo Montoya playing GT4 driving the Williams FW16

Edit: Interesting I got the lucky 2000 post. Wheeeeeee!!!!!! LOL
Anyways this threat has reached 2000 post Congratulations The359.
Cheers!!! 👍

Is this the one your refering too?

Come on, we need to know how to live without the exotics, yes thats right, those sexy Italian, British supercars we all dream to drive in GT :guilty: :indiff:

Ferrari is definitely out. Here is what Kaz said in the OPM magazine interview.

"...if you're a fan of Ferrari, we're affraid you're going to disappointed again this year. 'Every time I make a new game in the series, I approach Ferrari. If we were trying to making a game with only Ferraris, it'd be a different matter, but when you've got more than 650 different cars, you can't spend too much time trying to get the license for one particular car.'"

Ferrari has been removed from the list now. Porsche however will remain, for now, since we know that Kaz modeled one for GT3 (and obviously was never used), and there is no proof yet of it not being in GT4.

Solid Lifters is right, you can't just hunt down one licence. And besides, I don't think PD would actually tell anyone they've managed to get it, they'd rather let fans be pleasently surprised rather than knowing everything about the game before it's released. And I'm prefectly OK without Ferrari, it's not that hard to survive. It's only a game.

And I'm prefectly OK without Ferrari.
So am I. Time was the limiting factor. If they would have modelled Ferrari's, other cars would have been sacrificed.

Newly acquired licenses of manufacturers Ginetta, Callaway, Jensen, Hommell and Saleen are more exotic imo then Ferrari, and so are e.g. TVR and Aston Martin. I'm perfectly happy with KY's choices.

The statement by KY concerning the RUF below clears up the Porsche issue.

I must admit I held out more hope of Porsche being in GT4 than Ferrari, it's a shame, but I suppose life will continue...

Hopefully we'll get some hidden treasures in the form of some 'special' cars from Manufacturers already present...

Thanx Samberto, they're nice and all, :) , but I was thinking along the lines of certain cars from Toyota, Peugeot, Ford and Audi, that may've done some little hillclimb in the USA somewhere... ;)

Granted it's not a big deal to not have Ferrari, but the game is supposed to be Automotive history.
Without Ferrari we wouldn't have the Ford GT or GT40.
Remember? Henry made an offer to buy the company in 64'
and Enzo turned him down, so Henry said to his top engineers
"Let beat Ferrari at LeMans" So they build a car that could.
That car was the GT40. It won 4 years in a row, one year sweeping
the top three spots. And it wasn't just one or two car lengths infront of
the Ferraris, the Ferrari's got fricking whipped!

Yeah I know, we don't need Ferraris, but 3 official inastallments of the series
and several spin-offs. (concept anyone?) and the company that is one of if not the, best car manufacturer in the world is still absent. YEah there are other games with those cars, but how realistic are they? Does it even feel remotly like a Ferrari should? no....
definatly not in PGR2....
Definatly not in any Need For Speed game either.
And personaly I think after all this time Ferrari should be TOP OF THE LIST for GT5 must have stuff. GT5 must be the one with the Exotics!
KY already said they have the car models from GT4 to use, and they will just bump up resolution on the textures and use the higher poly models. So that's 650+ cars already for GT5! What a head start! I'm sure he will more than have time to get Porsche, Ferrari, and Lambo in next time. Hell he has the technical data for the Ferrari's and Porsches. Yeah it was a staff day out, but who said the staff didn't get specs and pics of everything and such. hey could have Ferraris and Porsches sitting in wait to get the liscenses to use em. And GT4 has gone gold, that means GT5 is most likely already under production. Sony loves Polyphony Digital so I'm sure they have given them the PS3 specs if not some sort of Dev kit so they can start work on GT5 immediatly. But atleast we are getting a decnt # of cars unlike GT3.
GT3 was soo limited in comparison to GT2.... yeah first title on a new platform but jeeze!

Oh also I got ahold of a Representative from Ferrari on the hpone finaly after an hour almost of being on hold. Basically he said the company was approached about the Enzo, 360 CS, 550, Testarosa, and the new 430. But they where contacted just before the EA liscense ended so legaly they couldn't make a deal. So basically if EA had los the liscense in lke September instead of just now in November we would prolly have them Ferraris.....

Porsche says several of their cars had data recorded form them but no contracts where ever signed so it's unlikely.

undefinedundefinedundefinedDon't get too far ahead, GT4 hasent even seen it's U.S. realease yet, and GT5 is going to be for the next playstation system.
And PD didn't get licensing from Ferrari because Italian and Japanese are two different languages(in case you didn't know, that was sarcasm)

Here is my answer to Kaz :
I'm not a fan of Ferrari and I'm affaraid that I wont be dissapointed.

Calm down....
GT4 will never be realesed anyway.

Well, it's gone gold.

Also, the NFS series and those aren't sims. They're arcade.

However, Xbox's first racing sim, Forza Motorsports is coming. BTW, when does it come out? Hell, it's got one of the baddest Ferrari's ever made.

The 333SP.

Last time I checked this was a threat solely in favor of Gran Turismo not them other lame imitations or competitors whatever way you guys want to take it. So please keep it that way. :grumpy:

A racer is a racer, and a racer lives to play any racing game he can get his hands on. It doesn't have to be just Gran Turismo 4.

👍 Amen to that. However the GT series would be the best "experience" out of all of them, unless something new stomps on GT4 and becomes the best. But what's the chance of that? *glances left and right nervously* :scared:

I wouldn't recall saying all the racers can't play other racing games. I just stated that this thread this section of GTPlanet is solely for GT4 material and as I saw in the lastest posts unrelated material. Besides I own N4S:U. So I wouldn't be contradicting myself would I??????????
