I know a lot of people want to quickly take shots at GT4. But on a majority, I think this has been some of the best music since GT1. GT2's was okay, until most of it got old. I still liked "Cold Rock the Mic" and "Super Bon Bon." GT3's was a step in the right direction giving you a playlist. Even with the playlist, most of the music got old in GT3 as well. I'm expecting negative comments on this one- but I thought Snoop Doog's music track was pretty cool, speaking as a fan of hip-hop. GT4's had some of the best music I've heard since GT1. I thought it was rather foolish to have classical music in a race, but after trying it out on a few courses, what's really WRONG with classical music to be used in races? I actually enjoyed having classical music in races. I think it is a nice touch for the vintage cars. Think about it- you have a beautiful Jaguar XKE or Toyota 2000GT racing in a classic car race. While electronica and stuff are perfectly fine, there just seems to be that extra touch with classical music and vintage cars. Speaking of electronica, there was a nice collection of different songs. Mr. Natural's "Gameplan" had sort of a Ridge Racer feel to it, whereas there are pulsating beats much like I was playing Ridge Racer V or something. It was good, but could be better. A. Skills has mad skills with "Till the Break" and "Slip and Slide." Maybe it's just me, but "Slip and Slide" sounds like completely legit rally music because that's what you do in an off-road race most of the time, right? I am not a real big rock music guy, as many of you may know. If I had to choose some which were exceptions to the rule, make it the "Getting Away" remix, the "Moon Over the Castle" Orchestra Mix, and even Van Halen's Panama. Oh yeah, and I'd also include the tracks by Daiki Kasho.
And by the way, I thought James Brown's remix isn't all that bad. May sound corny at first, but I liked it. Other funky tracks included the remixes to "Machine Gun" and "Getaway." In reverse, the songs I've most hated was that country song, that "Oh Yeah" song by Yello, or whomever. A song I liked at first but didn't really like later were Papa Roach's "Not Listening." Other than that, there were plenty of songs to choose from, so there's almost no excuse not to find at least one you like. Just saying "I don't listen to the music" isn't an excuse for this thread because the assumption is that you've heard the music and are able to judge the music for yourself. I marked down "Very Good" with many of the different songs I've listened to and enjoyed.
