Not to say this isn't true, but that statement shouldn't be based on "photos" taken in a video game, I would just say there is alot of creativity IMO :)

it could also be said that photography is entirely based on creativity.
if every photographer has the same equipment and the same ability to operate the equipment. the "talent" has to come from somewhere else doesn't it?
its creative use of the tools, environments, composition, lighting etc, that gives birth to photography as "art" rather than simply captured images.

GT photomode is actualy more of a utiopia... everyone has the same camera, so the poor kid that can't afford the best toys isn't left out of the fun... kinda normalizes the playing field.

It is a utopia fo sorts, although I feel very limited in camera shots. I'd like to be able to fly through the air with my camera to any rooftop I want, or shoot from any angle I please :P

Thanks kenny for the big red letters. 👍 The poll and next competition should be up in no more than 1/2 hour if there are no delays. :)

This is an argument that will go on as long as these comps keep their popularity. While you are right in a sense, I still believe that there are a select few in these comps that really know what they're doing but they don't usually get the credit they deserve until they make a shot that everyone think looks "cool" when every week they turn in photos with no jaggies, great balance, blah, blah ,blah, we've all heard it before.

Anyways...it was another great week and it seems that more people are starting to grasp the concept of a good photo.

I strongly agree with you mintee! The entries this week are some of the best I've seen, quality wise!

I understand you exactly bro. I think alot of people are voting for the "most realistic" shots all the time. People mold their pics to their liking, personality, mood, ect, ect. My entries were heavily manipulated for a ton of reasons. I was toying around with the contrast/brightness as much as I could. I kept the focus on the skylines, and tried to bring out certain colors in the MPP skyline. I wasnt going for realistic at all.

yeah, that all boils down to the subjective nature of the beast... but its all in good fun, so cheers to all that keep entering and making things interesting. 👍
