I would hate to see you go Div! I don't know how neither of your photos got picked for this comp, or the 2.0 comp. They were both fantastic! I certainly would of had both in my final 10 and 20. And yeah, I think some decisions are biased every now and than on who gets in and who does'nt. Mainy because, like you said, due to making a few enemies in the past.

But I know that if you leave, you will be back in a couple weeks, because you will start craving it, and BAM, you are back with the best of them!

I'm sorry to see div go... you know whenever i get int o the top 20 spot i feel proud of my accomplishments... if i don't i don't, I'm gald somone EVENTually voted for my entry, i wasn't even sure if toe 2002 BMW badge would cut it, oh well that's one for me now to vote for that SLR! to the one person who voted.. Ya thats what I was thinking after I took the shot...I thought forsure the grille would have jaggies...as much as I wanted to clean up the vent and head light I didnt touch it but with B&C...

I don't know if I can do twenty-five more of these. I really don't. The way some people act is just amazing, there are no prizes, there are no trophy girls, you don't get a pat on the back either, it's just something that is supposed to be fun and something to do. Maybe I should end this so some people don't have anything to do. Maybe they'll finally venture outside, and actually start enjoying life and having a life. I know I'm probably talking out of my ass but, I try to do something for other people to have a little friendly fun and everyone just *****es and complains. End of this little fiascle of mine, week twenty-six will be up soon.

I'd say most people here take this competition seriously (not saying people don't have fun with it). If you want proof of this check the quality of the pics here again and also notice how it has improved over time. There's no way this has happened without some serious effort. I understand this may not be what Slick6 originally intended, but that's how it is.

I know how you feel Div. I've been there.
The first 10 weeks of the PMC i entered some of my best photos but no Top 20. I had to change how i take photos for this competition. I asked around (subtly) to see what kind of photos people like to see the most and the result of that is well ...., regular in the Top 20.

Dump the originallity and the artistic framing. If your photo ain't flashy and clean you ain't getting into the Top 20.

You see, i love your gallery photos and the last thing you should do is quit.

You know what really irks me. I spend a lot of time each week trying to take a good picture to measure up to the likes of the others here. I fluke out, win one week and get the privilege(?) to choose a theme. I choose a theme. I think it is a pretty good one. It makes the photographer focus on a certain aspect of the car. How much of the beautiful car will they sacrifice for the badging. There are good shots, there are bad shots, and there are great shots that don't fit the theme. I even posted a couple more times in the thread to reiterate and explain what I mean by the theme.

Div's picture.. is a great pic! I even like how his red BMW goes with the red cones that are there. However, when I said that emblems not on the car will not be considered, I had to look for the tiny, tiny, almost unseeable BMW badge on his car. Obviously it is nowhere near the focus of his picture and, therefore, it does not fit the theme. Sorry, Div, I always like looking at your pictures, but this time it wasn't what the theme (and I) dictated.

If you don't like how your life, I mean, how your result in the photothread is going, there are a couple of things you can do. 1)Know the theme: make sure you get as much information and ideas from the thread so you know exactly what you need to show in your picture. or 2)disappear: If you don't like how you feel everyone is treating you in these comps, will they treat you any better after a tantrum?

Oh man I didn't make it, I guess I should have zoomed in more on the badge! My vote goes to Brock's picture its just amazing

This comp is just not for me, it's plain boring. So I just quit.

I really thought at first that the 2. comp would be better but still, same problem again.

Its shame that you feel this way Div, I always enjoyed competing with you! I hope you change your mind, I can understand how you feel but at the end of the day, it was speedy samurai's choice and I can see why he rejected your picture. I think you should still enter 👍

You know i think div not joining the comps isn't really a bad thing, maybe he just needs to find new inspiration, I know this because, i take pictures for a living and it CAN burn you out real quick if your're not 100% sure of yourself and passionate about your hobby/job. Look at JMX anybody wonder why he hasn't joined a comp lateley? Even the best DO get tired.. maybe all div needs is a good rest to get them juices flowing... three weeks without a top 20 can do that to you...

Well, it's not an obligation to participate. It's a choice. I usually only post a final entry when i'm fine with the theme and that I have time to put into getting a good pic.

Taking a few weeks of break can pay off too. I understand it can be hard to be part of the Top 20 each week, even if you submit great shots. Well, right now, pretty much everyone post awesome shots each week. Some of my best shots have never been chosen, but I take it positively, in respect to the other shots that made it.

Just for the fun of it, here's my backlog of the GT4 PhotoMode Competition up to now.

Between Week 2 and 15, I haven't been part of the Top 20... and then I get in on Week 15 and even win the competition. That, I think, was a really good pay off.

Anyway, in a total of 25 competitions, here are my stats:

Top 20: 5
Wins: 1
Total Votes: 34

What counts for me is not to win absolutely, but to get at least one vote each week i'm in the Top 20. To me, it means that someone out there found it was the best of the bunch. Winning is just a bonus.
