yes, the picture was cropped. it's not that difficult to see.
I personally feel that the pictures should not even be allowed to be cropped. They should be submitted in either 1280x960 or 960x1280 or any other smaller (but still proportional) size; 1024x768, 800x600, 640x480.
I also think that adding text should not be allowed. It hasn't happened recently, but back with the snow theme where (I think it was 440) put a big Ralli Art logo on his pic. That sort of thing, I feel, shouldn't be allowed either.
I'm also about half way to thinking that contrast/brightness should be left alone as well. It seems the competition might be more fierce and fair if that were the case. Since not everyone knows how to use (or even has) Photoshop, it would level the playing field a bit, so people wouldn't depend so much on their enhancers to make the pics look better.
I think making a rule that all pics submitted must be clean and straight from GT4, untouched would be pretty interesting. All the newer competitors might stand a chance since they may not be as good at tweaking their pics, and all the Vets would have more of a challenge... trying to get a good picture straight from the PS2, working with only the tweaks available in the game. That way everyones pictures would be dark, and there wouldn't be any 'super-spectacular contrast enhanced eye popping pictures.' So voters would not be able to choose based on what makes the best eye candy, but they'd actually have to evaluate the pics for the content/framing/originality.
Anyway, it's late again and I'm tired... I'm done with my rant.
I like the Honda Beat in front of the Sony building, it won't get enough votes though. So I'm kinda rooting for the Cherry Red (Callaway?) to come up from behind for the win. I really don't see anything special about the GT pic at all.
