There are some programes that do not appear to leave any signature as to their use, however it's fairly obvious to the eye when a pic has had the contrast & brightness increased outside of GT. On recent form it's clear that pics which have had such treatment do attract a significant number of votes, even if they don't win in the end.

Untouched pics are the way to go imo, it makes the competition a level playing field for all and will improve people's technique as they try to squeeze the most out of the tools available. A raw GT4 shot is about 300k and complaints about the size should be irrelevant considering that most browsers will resize images to fit - if not you can always drag the pic to desktop and view with the windows fax & image viewer.

If you want the creative freedom to enhace your pic, enter the photoshop competiton :)

Photoshop can be used to crop, resize, adjust brightness and contrast, and for adding text.

You can easily crop out the Gran Turismo watermark.
Right, but I think his technique was to rotate the camera 90 degrees, snap the pic, then on his computer rotate it back and blot out the watermark. Just an observation, and it's a genius idea that's apparently legal. In response to the editing of photos, I don't have photoshop, but I'm all for it. Frankly I want to see pictures of GT4 at its best, not a bunch of dull bland pictures that just need a little brightening. I don't see anything wrong with that...even professional photographers make changes like that to the photos they take.

I like the Honda Beat in front of the Sony building, it won't get enough votes though. So I'm kinda rooting for the Cherry Red (Callaway?) to come up from behind for the win. I really don't see anything special about the GT pic at all.

Thanks (it's a jaguar xj220) but why didn't you vote for it 💡 :sly: 👍

//.achine /.ge '/ictim I'm going to try and pass you on the last corner. Damn Ford GT is out in front, doubt we can catch him.

:D

A couple of things to add here............

For those of you that think that a good Photomode comp means not using Photoshop, check out the rules I've drawn up for a Rally Photomode comp (elsewhere on the board) to be started sometime in the future if there's enough interest and feedback. Not trying to steal the thread just thought I'd mention that. It will not conflict with the other comps because it's a totally different set of themes and I don't thinkk it will pull entrants away from the other comps either.

Second, I'm curious as to what was so bad about my Daimler Motor Carriage at Tokyo as to why it wasn't included in the Top 20. I'm curious because I'd like to improve my picture taking. So any feedback would be greatly appreciated so that my next entry will be even better.

Until next time boys and girls.

We can take 'em I don't care which one of us wins as long as it isn't him :sly:

j/k it's a very realistic shot, I think that's its main appeal

Uninteresting background, underexposed, interesting subject, but centrally composed not attractice to the eyes in this case, no interesting angle. Other than that, there were just 20 more photos that were composed a bit better than yours.

Ok, fair enough. I'll work on it. Thanks.

Thanks mate, although I just had to format and none of the images are appearing on this forum or any other (for anything imageshack related :grumpy: ), how is it doing in votes?

And my 2 cents about the cropping and whatever else, I think the photo's would be better left stock. Keeps everything nice and level 👍

XJ220 looks like it could take the Ford GT. My little yellow SPIRRA will have to settle for third.

Great comp everyone.

Cheers, I'm honoured!

Kind of a mixed blessing as I'll be moving house tomorrow and won't have web access from home for about a week!

Great shots, everyone.

My brain's a bit fried at the moment, am I choosing the top 20 Laguna Seca pics, or the top 20 of the theme I choose?

Well I'll answer for Slick. The top 20 pics of the theme "Laguna Seca".

No, Orbit, you will choose the pictures from your theme. I was just wondering if you would have internet in time. Good luck with the move. 👍
