The distance between T2 and the finish line is rather short, and contains only one corner. Given also that the car tops out at 193km/h before you reach the pit entrance, that means that a T2-line split time isn't going to vary much, so a T2 time gives an almost concrete indication of a lap time.

Times are submitted centrally to a "trusted" member - usually Kent or his nominated minion Ron - and results are displayed at deadline. This stops cheat-ass time races... Someone saying they got a 1'30 something, then someone, just to beat them, says a 1'20 something and so on (example times - nothing to do with this race).

It's largely honour based, although the fastest guys know what ought to be possible and any gross cheating can be found out.

Remember that we're looking for 100% clean laps, with NO contact with the walls whatsoever.

I have been asked if I want to make this Race 107.

No.

Although I've picked a car and track combination which is available from the start, so that everyone who has GT4 can play it, I am no more official than anyone else. Unless Kent gives the okay, this remains a warm-up.

All good comments Famine 👍

It also might be advisable to make sure everyone saves the replay of the submitted time in case this unofficial WRS event becomes official.

i still have yet to make a concrete lap i ran a 49 something after 2 i guess when i am done being busy with whatever i will run the old dodge

The rev limit thing was deliberate, just to annoy all of you pedal users... :D

 You sick b@stard :D

j/k

I don't have wheel nor pedals, so it doesn't bother me much ;)

I have a question for the conservative users that are still using the good ol' trusty controller, though.

Do you guys just floor it and let the needle bounce off the rev limiter (therefore losing a little bit of speed each time this happens) or do you try to control how much you depress the button (or the stick, depending on what you use) in order to keep the needle steadily (more or less) in the same spot?

EDIT: Also, to Famine, does this mean that you will make a come back to WRS when the switch from GT3 to GT4 will be finalized?
In this case, glad to have you back 👍 I was wondering why you were not in the WRS anymore, looking at the other threads laying around.

I am looking forward to make you bite my dust (or try to ;)) in the future :D

I Have GT4!!!!, i will give this ago if i find some time tonight, (dad playing it first so i have to wait till tonight).

Ive had a few quick goes and its great!. Shouldnt take me long to get used to it.

Im getting a DFP in about a week so I cant wait.

To the wizard : I try to keep the throttle at about 80% because if you go into the limiter you lose quite a lot of speed ( you bounce back to about 180km/h ). I just try to be between 190 and 193 during the straight

The Wizard.

Maybe. There was a driver I didn't want to waste my time racing against, and then I got GT4 on 4th January... :D

I would like to point out that PAL GT4 absolutely pWnZ NTSC/J GT4.

Good car, I love the Charger that I have in my garage. I'll definitley run some laps when I get back from school.

As long as you use the Arcade Charger. 👍

Even if I didn't notice this, I would have suspected something was up when my garage Charger would be outpacing everyone by at least 5 seconds!

After a quick 6 laps, I've seen a 48.9 T1

just ran a quick 10 i never liked city courses, to tight for me, love the car though

T1-48.943
saw 48.1 but pretty much flipped the car over in the esses after t1

Hey! What happened to the analyser's timing data?

Anyone know how to get the comparison video with the player car, ghost and sector timings that were available in GT3?

All I see is a couple of squiggly lines, which occasionally diverge and the brake/accelerator applications.

If they're gone, that'd be a bummer.

i think they took more info away from that because they added more in-replay info so whatever your looking for is either in analyzer or in the replay

The thing I'm looking at is called "Analyzer", it's under "Data Logger". It shows speed/distance, but no timing.

I haven't noticed anything new and of interest in the replays. Chase view and speed display are all that I need.

That timing data was very informative. So sad.

does this mean your back in wrs ODP?

I have yet to notice that.

I just got the game. I've done the licenses and missions, that's it (#34 teaches restraint). Still, much to do and learn. The game feels odd in certain situations. So, to answer your question, I don't know. :dopey:

StrokerAce
oh for timing i usually just watch the replay, yes it is sad :(

The timing data (in GT3) is in the analyser. It isn't displayed in the replay.

I'm suprised, no one knows what I'm talking about.

no for the T times i just watch the replay, and only used the anylyzer for speed, but i just compared GT4s with GT3 and i must say it is alot more gimped.

Yes, I know what you're saying. The primary split (T) times are 2 or 3 data points, save "the Ring" (?10?).

I'm talking about the sector times within the analyser. Something like 15-20 data points that show speed and time.

You'll know it when you see it. I'm not describing it very well.

Since no one seems to know what I'm talking about, let alone how to access them, I'll have to assume they may not exist.

ohhhh yes i used that for the last GT3 WRS race i think theres 23 sections at apricot hill but now i know what you mean.

I now have a clean lap in the can with a T1 of 47.891 with a T2 to match. I saw a T1 of 47.534 go by but the T2 wasn't that fast, still a clean lap but not as fast. There is a little more in this one for me, mostly in the T2. I think I know what the fast guys will be running for winning times, I'm at least 1 sec off of it.

ODP - As far as I can find there is no GT3 style analyzer. The data logger is a true data logger now and the replay has been beefed up with additional chase angles, 2 like the ones in the GT3 analyzer replay. I think pause and slo mo are built in in the functions too. Maybe in "picture mode" replay? You can run a ghost lap of your choice over the replay. How? No idea. I managed to do it once and for the life of me can't figure out how I did it.

My T1 is 48.388 and thats the best I could get so far. This car handles prety good whitch kind of suprised me. I still haven't hit a 47.*** still working on those corner speeds.
