:: GT4 WRS Week 102 ::

Over 1000HP and trying to handle all that power on a short track. Damn, I'm so mean lol. Oh yeah, forgot to mention we'll also be using RM's :sly:

To celebrate 208 weeks (4 years) of official racing here at the WRS we will have the luxury of knowing and viewing a fairly decent lap time that we all can chase. No doubt the faster guys won't even need to view the run and will beat it within a couple of laps, but the for the rest of us I hope it will come in handy. 👍

you are a mean man jerry but also very creative and loyal to this community 👍 👍 👍
this promises a huge turnup as it's instant fun with short laptimes and no need to break up a lap to retry.
next week will be in gt mode again i hope? and if i may suggest a combo: japanese concept cars with ptw limits at a nice real race track.

i'm off - jump into the monocoque and leave some skidmarks.

EDIT first rather clumsy attempt in this rocket of a car - too fast for me even to properly position the car for the next turn ...
gearing 350 - tcs on i'm afraid ...

9.816 - 22.975 - lap WAY above the example in jerry's vid.

suggestion to div3 racers: stay well away from the dirt or you'll be all over the place in zero time.

First splits also ..

9.119 / 21.049 👍 A wicked drive and Tsukuba is such a great track 👍

I'll be back :sly:

9.227/ 21.255 really crappy end bend

Not many laps I've actually finished, Jerry you're a sick bastard ;)

Cant have the missus closing in :P ...

9.011 / 20.905 took a few tenths off at the line :)

Holy Bat crap Robin!! First shot at it this morning.
10.203
25.188

I figure if I drank 6 double espresso's and two bottles of "Jolt" I might be able to keep this thing headed in one direction. :scared:

Kudos to those early splits: 👍

Edit: Mr P, you must be plugged into the wall outlet, or mainlining caffine.

This is payback for all those who didn't like last weeks combo ;)

Jerry:

I just ran your genealogy!! There is a direct link between you and the Marquis d'Sade. :ill:

I bet your just sitting back and really enjoying this one eh? :)

tcs on i'm afraid ...
Don't worry Steven, it's the ONLY way to go this week...

I would've liked it! But yeah. I can definitely make some time for a few 40 second laps...

I didn't even know you could drive this thing with upped power and reduced weight! Never thought to try it in Arcade mode... EEEEEEEEEK!!! :scared:

My boss just called and said we'll be headed in late today, so I'll do a few real quick... 👍

The last I looked, there was a good chance that a link to the original Tom Dick & Harry is more likely. :sly:

Been here done that, same with the Minolta. I think I have my times at GTRP, I'll have to try locating it and see what I got :)

EDIT - Haha, a couple euro guys had the nerve to beat me by .3 here..ggrr.....I'll post those splits once I get off work. I doubt I'll be able to beat that time but who knows.

Jerome

I'm telling you, the more caffine you drink the easier this thing is to drive.

She who must be obeyed has brewed a new pot of coffee for the afternoon, with the following results:

9.495

23.281

Now if I could only find the espresso machine! 💡

Am I the only one who doesn't get the title "A Name, No Pack Drill" ??

Looks like a frantic combo.... :)

Am I the only one who doesn't get the title "A Name, No Pack Drill" ??
Now that you mention it, I don't think I actually read the title! No clue!

And, can't let Master P run away with the quickest splits of the first day... :sly:

T1: 9.214(seen 9.0xx)
T2: 20.806(seen 20.7xx)

I'll have to come back to this for sure, gonna call it quits for now though. I can SEE about half a second between adding up all the ickiness, or maybe only .3 or .4, but there IS room for improvement. My last turn was kind of slidey, so I maintained more speed than I normally would've but exited slower, I don't know if it was beneficial or detrimental to what could've been managed otherwise.

👍👍 Jerry!

EDIT: Forgot to mention, it's almost like GT4's trying to play music as you get on the gas in the sand/grass... With the TCS cutting out and all.

First time racing for me in a long time...
Excellent combo to try and come back for, hopefully I will manage to stay out of D2 territory and do my official D1 status justice. :nervous:
(probably a good week for me to find out where I really stand considering all the time I've taken away from serious OLR and the WRS)
T1: 9.554
T2: 21.807

I've seen 9.3 and 21.6 on seperate laps, would like to see 21.5 by the end of the week (assuming I get any more time in on this combo).
With how fun the last session was I am sure I can make time for another stint. 👍

The days not over here for another 5 hours :sly: I'll have to take some more laps and try to match your T2 as I'm obviously losing bucketloads of time going under the goodyear tyre .. Great splits Kyle 👍

I'll be back :P

Can you say crazy, I knew you could:). I may try this week, I may not.
And nice job on the leaderboard bigracer:tup:.

Ohhhhhhhhhhh i sooooo gotta give this a try. Is it ok if i do this week in the carbon fiber version? if not i can just use mah red one. haha. :mischievous:

oh. and i really dont get the name. o_O

I have to start from scratch again as Kelly has overwritten my save with her own ... and now she has 2 saves!
I am not best pleased with this but she can think herself lucky that this never happened at the last minute on a Monday evening or the fireworks would have been visible over the whole estate we live on :P

anyway! ... back to the drawing board :grumpy:

i can't wait to get home for this one. it will be my very first lap ever in the gt4 poly f1 car. i just dl'd z.'s garage and i got a ton of em but i havn't even tried one out yet. this had better kick ass.

Ran about 20 minutes without tcs and than gave in, got tired of blowing good splits by spinning out the last hairpin :dopey:

9.498
21.668

It's a beast with all that power, but a nice challange.

Struggling with 1000 more HP than last week-my paddle shifters don't work (I tried the fix) so I'm using the slushbox-reaching up for the shifter every .2 seconds means pretty much only one hand is on the wheel all the time. :nervous: No good.

What a rocketship!

Turned on the TCS and came down from 21.7or8 to 21.2or3... Nothing official about it as of yet (didn't pay close attention to the T times as the lap is going to be beat soon, bad finish).
None the less, TCS seems to be faster from time to time but with no TCS I feel more consistant in my speed.
TCS gets me all over the place and no TCS puts me consistantly at 22.0 to 21.7.

Should be interesting to see which one is going to be faster for me this week. I'm betting a switch from one to the other on a regular basis will bring my times down. 👍 (Atleast I'm hoping that)

I feel the same way Kent. I ran quite a while without TCS and managed to sit around 9.4 to 9.7 and 21.6 to 22.0

You risk spinning out more often without the TCS, but you can also overcome understeer by just blipping the throttle. Though I would think controlling this best on the DFP would be easier; I cannot imagine using my DS2 without TCS.

With TCS on I am managing

T1 - 9.305
T2 - 21.244

I know alot more is there, even from me. Just got to get use to the TCS pushing the car to the outside of the corner first :P Wish I could adjust the amount the TCS cuts in and such, so I could get the car a little sideways at times.

EDIT: and I'm on my DFP this week, just so the awesome board updaters know.

And has anyone drifted the entire last turn yet? I almost got it earlier today...
