That's what I like to hear! 👍Great in depth track report there KLR142, you have helped me out in a few spots,👍
Why thank ya.Nice guide, Kyle! +rep, of course...
I knew I could keep the throttle down in this car on the fast right-lefter at the start - and it's damn satisfying, despite the ease of it. But I never managed to keep the
I've got some questions/comments:Forgot to note, I'm hanging around the 1'03.8 for now. After Kyle's guide, I'll get back at it tomorrow. The ideas and lines should, I reckon, shave off at least half a second...
- Shift into 5th or stay in 4th on the straight? I noticed my 5th-gear ghost is passed when I'm in 4th, but the car does seem a little asthmatic in the "higher" revs (Exactly when was 6000RPM high? ), and does indeed accellerate faster in 4th@5500RPM than in 3rd@6500RPM...
- Coming out on the right side after the long sweeper always seemed fastest, and I was still able to keep 85MPH on the right-kink. The hairpin could be trouble then, so that's a good idea to change the line there.
- I can manage the left-right before T1 almost flat-out, though it's one of the most interesting corners - but the right-left that comes down the highway keeps messing me up. I can't seem to find a clean, smooth line without messing up the next corner - and even then, when I try to push it over the slowness, I get into the right wall... Where exactly do you brake and stop?
1. I stay in 4th for the whole straight. I usually shift halfway through the redline, except for when in second(sometimes), on the main straight, and where I mention I keep it in third.
2. Yep, going that route makes getting through the hairpinnish next turn somewhat tough.
3. Stay to the left, initiate the turn right towards the corner of the first right corner and then jab the brakes immediately after you turn in a bit, drop to third, gas it over until the next corner that sticks out on the left where you'll jab on the brakes again and drop to second gear. Play with it(throwing the beast around), all trying to maintain as much speed as you can without leaving the last bit in second gear too slowly. I'm doing all my braking before the actual apexes, and pretty much on the gas either full or partial(in second) crossing the apexes.
Take a read above, try to be smooth, try and use all of the track... Keep at it, and you'll see the time come falling off. 👍Can't figure this one out...
