Sorry for the delay again.
Here we go again; it’s another handicap week. :) This week we will try and get division 3 a little higher in the placements. Due to work I’ve extended the WRS deadline by 7 hours.

  • Mode: Arcade Mode > Time Trial > World Circuits
  • Track: Suzuka Circuit
  • Make: Germany > Mercedes
  • Model: Mercedes CLK Touring Car ‘00

Handicap Specifics:

  • Division 1
  • Power: (+6%) 468hp
  • Weight: (-10%) 900kg
  • Driving Aids: Any
  • Top Speed: Any
  • Transmission: Any
  • Tyre Type: Racing-Super-Soft or harder
  • Division 2
  • Power: (+10%) 486hp
  • Weight: (-10%) 900kg
  • Driving Aids: Any
  • Top Speed: Any
  • Transmission: Any
  • Tyre Type: Racing-Super-Soft or harder
  • Division 3
  • Power: (+18%) 522hp
  • Weight: (-10%) 900kg
  • Driving Aids: Any

Week 107 Race Specifics:

Green areas inside of the rumbles are not part of the track.


Standard Clean OLR Rules:
  • 2 wheels on (or vertically in line with) the track at all times
  • rumble/ripple strips are part of the track
  • no contact with walls or objects, visible or invisible
  • if you're not 100% sure that your lap is clean, then consider it dirty
  • no hybrids
  • no cheating of any kind
  • nothing that goes against the spirit of the rules
  • save your replay ('Save Replay' icon)
Thread rules:
The following info cannot be discussed in this thread (they can, however, be discussed on MSN or via other private conversation methods):
  • lap time
  • any information which can be used to infer lap time
Submission:
All submissions must be sent by PM to me (Sphinx):
  • you can submit only once per race
  • please include in your submission PM your division, name and final lap time
  • deadline is Tuesday 15th May 6pm GMT
    [*]if you are still unsure of the deadline try this site

Time verification:
Save your replay and keep it at least a full week after the time has been submitted:
  • fastest times each week will be required to submit a replay for verification
  • any submitted time is subject to a time verification request
  • when a time verification has been requested, the concerned racer must provide a replay before the next race deadline
  • failure to do so will result in the removal of the unverified submission from WRS results
  • video replays are not accepted, only .max, .xps or .sps files can be verified
 
I love the German touring cars. Their high grip, high power, and good handling mask my poor driving. I don't think it will be enough, even with the handicap to get me near the top, but it will be fun! Hopefully I can get over my fear/hatred of the right hander between Dunlop and Degner (maybe it is Degner?), I always loose time there.
 
I made the mistake of not reading the rules thoroughly once before. After wasting half a weeks racing it's not a mistake I'd like to repeat. :dopey:
 
I'd like to take the extra 4% of weight off the car in Div III, heaven knows I could use it but my slider won't move that far. :lol: ( I know, picky picky picky!)

This looks like another fun combo Jerry. Still not sure I favor handicap races but we'll give 'er a go. 👍
 
Is the weight on this car right? Because, when I adjust the weight 10% as ordered, it comes out 900 kgr, not 1008 :confused:

Oooooh...me likey. Just one problem-every week we use a car I'm familiar with my times suck. I've been much better at the stuff I've never driven before. Bad habits die hard I suppose.

it's good to be back after a lovely week in france. too bad the pug's auto gearbox gave so much trouble that i had to get back in another car ...

great combo, the more often i visit suzuka the more i get to know and love it - if it weren't for those braking points before the hard lefthanders :)

have to admit i am using tcs to open up throttle after those two and in the final chicane.

first splits later today.

to jerry - i assume i can update the 8wk leaderboard up to 105 now?
 
Hmm... Sticky again, but Zukini Circuit :D

I'll have to get some work done, and make up for that blunder at 130R last time here... I remember the last sticky I ran there was the Falcon V8 Supercar, which was quite fun, and the JGTC race there, too - I'll get a time this week, especially with the new deadline.

The famously terribly stupid "Intelligent Robotic 'Box" from the house of Peugeot/Citroen? HR4 or something, I'll check up the exact name. I know it once cost the 406 the title as "Best Mid-size Sedan" back in 2001 due to it's extreme stupidity. Was PD's AI in GT4 (most caps in a row :P) designed following the logic of this Auto-'box?...

nah it didnt tho the weather wasnt that fine all together and the car did cost me some time to organise, AND i now have €150 to pay to my mobile operator for all the calls i had to make to NL and FR.

good to be back!

btw is anyone ever looking at the 8wk leaderboard? i feel like i might just as well stop maintaining it :guilty:

Well, seeing as I've been AWOL for a while I'll be at the bottom of div 2 for now so I won't be looking at it. :D

Spent most of my GT4 time last night winning the car as my uber save's in the PC and if you've read the results from last week you'll know my max drive isn't available to me at the moment, bugger.

Got the correct car now and will make some improvements on the pathetic split times I'm currently on before posting. I'd post what I've got but the resulting laughter may constitute interfering with the opposition?

I look at it!! Glad to be on it again too. But if it's too much work to keep it up, I woud understand that you'd drop it.

it's not a pain and i like to do the churn for the wrs community, but only if it is appreciated - that's all. the others are doing so much work (especially jerry off course) that it feels good to make this kind of a contribution.

no heavy stuff.
