slashed another .5xx off my previous best, i can see maybe another .1/.15, but would require several more attempts though

Did you mean 35.220? you posted a 35.x split earlier, anyway I go backwards that way, I have a 37.2 that shaters my best by .4, so I'm just saying that the last sector is the bread and butter for sure.....

Be back soon with another set of splits, I have not driven the wrs this much since the ford at NY :)

EDIT: Well I've improved quite a bit, I am however drunk and so I'll waite untill tomorow to varify that my new splits are clean 👍

yeah, thats a 35.220 split, time submitted for the 3rd time, i guess submitting 3 times in a week is better than none, lol. sorry for the overload sphinx, wont happen again, cheers

you can submit only once per race

Submitting 3 times is indeed better than none, but it's also 2 times too many. The rules also apply to you, holl01.

17.931
35.220

???

The best I can do at the moment is

19.655
39.128

Rules say keep off the walls.
If there was a rumble strip on these corners I wouldn't be touching it.
Watching my replays it's clear that I haven't hit any walls,
but occasionally on some of my first runs the car looked like it was using some of the snow drifts as rumble strips.
Is this allowed?
If so I might be able to knock off 1 or 2 seconds.

If not, competing against 17.931 & 35.220 my times as well
as my driving must be totally crap!

I've been waiting to see someone mention the resub deal.........

JJ74, I would venture to day that Dan's lap is very most likely clean, however his mention of a snow rumble does sound odd, I could be wrong but the way I'm making sure my laps are clean is to use the data logger, If I see no downward spike in speed then I'm thinking I'm o.k. There is a difference in getting up on a side a little and getting that dreaded wall hit, smack! Anyway I'll be back on this again soon I've broken 37 a few times and a personal desire at the finish 👍

Thanx Arora,

Unless someone else says otherwise, if I 'get up on the side a little' with no speed or performance difference in the data logger, I can assume that this will still be a 'clean' lap.

Dan - I wasn't doubting that your lap wasn't clean.
I've seen some of your times for previous races.
You are one of the best.

Well Ron B, you are the only div3 willing to try so far I think 👍 stick with it, tons of fun. If I may give a pointer, try to use 3rd gear for most of it, just 2nd for the the two slow ones in sector 2, left and then right and then t2..... that way you will find a better line, then start using 2nd a bit more

I'll get another up soon I'm sure, I'm almost maxed out :)

Erik,
Thanks for the tip.👍 I've knocked a few more tenths off but nothing dramatic. I'm just tired from cleaning out the shop and packing. In the mid to high 90's today and I'm exhausted.

In fairness to Dan, the single submission rule was mainly in place so that as a mod you didn't have to scramble to find the correct entry near the deadline. Both Cyril and myself were never concerned about Dan (or anyone) submitting multiple times. But Sphinx is well within his rights to accept only a single submission as the rules state. Remember though, it is a just a game 👍

EDIT: New splits

T1: 0`19.651
T2: 0`38.689

This one's tough :scared:

I Think Brad has been hanging for an ice race too so we'll see if he's able to muster the strength to get into this one.

Up for an old-school challenge?

(That's if the missus' lets you I guess....:sly:)

Keep pushing it Ron.
We could both take the top spots between us in Div3 at this rate.
My splits are only marginally quicker.

Thanks "GT"👍 I've had 19's at T1 and and 39's at T2 but get excited and stuff it before the finish line. I know it's because I'm very tired from packing the house up. No racing today as we move "fragiles" to the new place. I'll be back at it tomorrow evening once we return, hopefully not so tired. This heat really takes it out this old guy. :ouch:

Erik: gave 'er another go late last night. I can't remember the exact splits but I know I knocked a full 1.5 off my final. Thanks:tup: 👍

Rules are rules. If you allow one person to submit multiple times, you must allow everybody to do so. I know not everybody is that careless and arrogant, but in theory you then might need to check 3 times more personal messages every race. It may be just a game, but forcing others to spend more of their free time on the WRS administration because it's too difficult for you to submit once a week, is just not how it should be. Therefore I say: just one submission a week 👍

Rules are rules. If you allow one person to submit multiple times, you must allow everybody to do so.

We've always been able to submit multiple times. Although, if I do recall it was conditional with Cyril. He allowed it if, say, You submitted in the first couple of days, then again at the deadline for whatever reason. But I don't think a steadfast rule has ever been put in place.

Although, if so, I want my money from week 47 (Silvia/Elise) Dan you bastard!

I’m not prepared to have a rule that is open to interpretation so I might as well get rid of the rule altogether. However, I’m also not prepared to accept multiple submissions, because regardless when the submissions are made there is always work created for an admin to deal with it. I will therefore only accept the first submission from Dan and deny any other multiple submissions in the future.

The way it is worded isn't very open to any interpretation, and I've always wondered about Dan's many submissions.

I was not going to say anything, but now I have changed my mind. One submission per week is the rule, of course there is no interpretation of that, looks black and white to me. If I submit a time and then I see a fellow competitor with some quicker splits then i know that he has beatin me, not oh dear I guess I had better run some more and resub a faster time, that is not fair to the other drivers nor is it fair to put extra burdon on the mod.

Isnt that the idea of discussing T times?

You make a T-time submission and add as many updates to that as you like throughout the week, hence Luxy's leaderboard....
Thats the way you race each other; building the excitement over the week, with all the lead-swapping...

When you reach the final moment you are able to submit your best time on, whether that be the final day, 3 days before it or 5 seconds before the GMT deadline, that is when you should submit your final time and wait in anticipation of a possible podium position declaration in the results thread.

This to me is the whole excitement of the WRS and always has been...
Dan is a fast driver, undeniable, and if he wants to try, he can beat us all save a few.... but he should be bound by the same rule we all are; one final time submission a week.

If only Kent were here to have his say.

Ultimately, i will always accept the decision of the moderator, who is in that role to govern and organise and maintain a happy, racing environment in what has become a very very reputable online racing series.

:irked:👍

didnt see the rule, dont have the replay for my first submission of xx.xxx sphinx, i however have the replay of my best time of xx.xxx, and am willing to post it now if anyone wants it

I can see where you are comming from Dan, I'm not being sarcastic, you do not have your slower replay because you saved over it with a clean faster one. That is understandable, and also you have resub'd before so you thought little of it. I don't want to make any waves and I see quite the quandry.....If I thought I could catch you I might think differently, but maybe there are others who can catch you.

Hope everyone see's my point, I like the wrs very much and want it to be a place of integrity and high compitition.

EDIT: there was no need to post your lap times Dan, that is against the rules also

You should've gone for a cliché and had the Elise 111R as the car of choice. :P

EDIT: there was no need to post your lap times Dan, that is against the rules also

Agreed. I've edited out the lap times, you definitely know that rule Dan :)

As I mentioned before, Sphinx is in charge and I wholeheartedly support his decision to only accept a single submission as the rules on page one state. My previous post was only meant to diffuse a potentially heated situation by providing some background. As arora said, this comp is brilliant, Sphinx has cleared up the rule, so let's get back to racing...which reminds me...where are your splits Brad? I gotta know if I should start making you a new avatar :sly:

the idea of sumissions and keeping the results secret is whats the problem, its just more unnescessary work for the admins, generaLLY, everybody knows where they'll finish b4 the results are posted. and to hugo for suggesting that i'm arrogant and careless, how about you race this weeks race first b4 u post in this thread, fool.

Well turns out I suck at racing on ice tracks almost as much as I do on dirt tracks, therefor no submission from this week.
