I'm getting there...

Did another session just now. First session I drove with top speed of 240km. Changed that to 330, so I would reach top speed on the straight in 5th in stead of 6th (a tip I read in this thread). I honestly didn't think it would make me quicker, but within 10-15 laps, I shaved +/- 1.7 secs of my final time

Was a nice clean and flowing lap, don't know if I can get a lot more off...

know i can do better as this was on automatic transmission (which is what smartcar uses). will do better later in the week when i have another go on manual.

quite a good combo after the last two insane weeks!

EDIT: Thanks Niels, I'm one resiliant s.o.b. so I'll make it one way or another but a hard reality is that I'm no kid anymore and now need to take better care.....

well, I've improved on my time but not my S2, and I'm sure it'll still get me last in D2. Oh well.

Also, I went from gearing at 250 and 270 and it seems to suit my driving style better. The car understeers a lot more, though.

Jeeeeez guys. Seems there's a bit hidden in this combo to be found, eh? So far down to a 47.9 and counting. I can't say I'm a fan of the combo much, but then again, I hate the car for not making power all the way up to the redline, and I've never been a huge fan of Autumn Ring(sorry!), aside from what was it, sunday cup in GT1... Haha! The car's a [I}bit[/I] stiffer than I'd like for this bumpy(curbs anyway) track, too.

Still plugging away.

Also, we did this track with the Stratos Rally car, I started out chasing my old ghost.

sweet splits ron:tup: and and even sweeter combo choice 👍 the car is a nice choice for this curb hopping track. heres my efforts after a few hours driving

250 setting seems to be the optimum choice gear setting
had a really sweet t2 finish , the make or break sector pretty happy with this lap time, cheers.

lap description,

as ron pointed out, use gear 5 for a few of the 'in between' corners to get the momentume down the straights. hit line at around 196km/h, full throttle as u use the curbing to kick the car is far right as possible in prep for the left, 132km/h in 5th, using the inside rumble to assist in turning, double left 127km/h or there abouts, no harsh rumble contacts, doest work well here, but hop/cut the rumble as u straighten towards t1, long right, brake deepish and use 3rd for mid corner drip, at around 82, then brake a bit again, then power out initially in third, then to 4th as u exit, not using rumble strips. full throttle switching to 6th as u take the fast right, then hit 4th for the right 110, then 3rd for the left 72, then stay in 5th untill last corner, 122 for the double left, then brake as u enter into double right 125, then tap gas as u hop the tricky right left section, then fast right engine brake down to 142, that means ur in a good position to hit this at 142 in 5th, so dont be too wide as u exit the chcikane section as this fast right is fairly important, then the last corner in 3rd at 64-66. a fantastic combo, hope this description helps, and ofcourse, watch the speedo as u exit the corners:tup:

Holl, nice times, thanks for the rundown. I'm currently running better using 270 gears but I'll have to try 250 again. I have an awful time using the curbs as you mention, I keep taking too much and upsetting the car. Practice makes perfect I suppose.

My memcard decided that I won't race this week.
It got corrupted while removing some gamesaves and there's no way I can load the GT4 gamesave on it since there's only 1Mb available now.
Gotta see tomorrow if I can find a new memcard but I don't really want to spend an extra 40€ on it.

Hi Cyril not sure if this helps but only the other week I had a similar situation where I stupidly tried to remove some replays via the maxdrive programme and it corrupted my memory card ... anyway searched the net for how to format the memory card back to empty factory settings and it was a simple find

boot up the max drive and highlight the memory card you have problems with then press the square button and it will offer a clean format ... 2 secs later you have a brand new empty card maybe you have saves on your card and wont format it but I thought it best to let you know the card can be salvaged 👍 as I never knew myself and was ready to buy another

Thanks Ron, I didn't know for the format thing.
It worked and I have now a full 8 Mb memcard.
Problem is that most gamesaves won't uncrush. I managed to uncrush WRC4 and San Andreas but all other saves crash the maxdrive soft without uncrushing.
Still trying.

I'm having a blast with this one, my time has not improved but my driving has, the combo forces me too. Looking at my best t2(which I think is my max or close too) my time at the line is slower than you might think. I have become very consistant with sectors 2 and 3 though, so, now just to get a good t1 to start and I'll be happy as a clam

Can you do a count down per chance, just so we can see on our computer's time when the new deadline is? Like, 24 hours before the deadline, specifically make a post that says 24 hours before it. Something along those lines.

Also, YAY!!! Cyril's racing!!! Sweetness. I'll possibly have time to play tomorrow, but I think before I pass out in a few minutes I'll go and see what my actual current split times are. Even if there are a few D2 kids kicking butt and taking names... Back in a bit!

Edit: Well, I kind of got sucked into playing for a while... I guess I don't dislike this combo as much as I thought I did. But I digress! Division 2, get back there!

More to come later! Only shaved off .6 while my splits improved .7... There's definitely more in there for me. I hope to get a 47 flat by T2, and at least .3 more off at the line. .5 or more off at the line? Who knows, depends on how much time I can put into it. 👍 👍
