I would appreciate it if someone could point me to a thread where I could learn how to get the cars and tracks that you guys use. I have downloaded a save with all cars, but still cannot get to the Peugot for this week's race. This has been the reason that I have not posted in any more races than I have, so I would be a more active participant if I could work this problem out.

Thanks,

Bryan

erik, thanks for your reply, just wanted to b sure
allshonogo, we found the car in gt mode, france, new cars
save as a favorite, leave gt mode

awwww man! Thanks for the upgrade 006r! I was looking good for a minute there! JK though. Having some good breakthoughs for rallying in GT4. Never liked it much due to the increased(and much needed) difficulty compared to GT3!

Hey Bryan! I think what you have to do is actually get into the car when in GT Mode, before it'll show up in Arcade mode.

As far as having all the tracks available, I'd think that they already would be in Arcade mode in a full game save, but I'm not sure. If they aren't, maybe look into getting a different full game save? I'm pretty sure with the one that I have I didn't need to get into the cars in GT Mode first to be able to access them all in Arcade mode.

thanks to bigracer for the board format, helps me & other newbies i think. to all the board leaders.... am i in the wrong car ??? WOW lap t1="28589" t2="51141" t3="72811"
thanks & you're welcome.
chances are, if you suspect you are quicker than you should, that you upped the power to +20 instead of +10% perhaps?
on the other hand, in gt4 rallying the differences are usually bigger than on tarmac and some lower div players might be faster than other higher div aliens. for now, if your power is good, you're pretty fast! 👍

i had wrote about the leaders b4 i ran last nite, they are just SO fast :odd:
checked the power, ok @ 330, is there any way 2 find the weight and gearing during replay, half the time i forget what gearing i was running :dunce:
have a lot of painting to do in the bathroom over the next 7-10 days, so i hope not to cut into my race time too much :grumpy:

It's nice to confirm I really suck at rallying.

29.summat, 53.summat.

I think I'll wait for the tarmac. Heck of a way to return to the WRS - first time I'd really touched the PS2 after The Ocho!

Hey Kyle,

Thanks for replying man! I did try getting in to the car in GT mode and even ran a few laps on the Alps track before trying to find it in Arcade mode again, perhaps you could point me toward a better save than the one I have?

Thanks again trying to help me out, I really love participating in this!

Bryan

Thanks for the writeup, Ron. 👍 Very useful.

What topspeed did you use?

Np Niels ... sorry mate I forgot to mention my topspeed! I preffered to use 240 and 250 as they both pretty much balanced out to roughly the same time at the line even though they had little sections where one was faster than the other.
tried 210 and 230 early on but just too much gearing for my liking and the speed was not as good :yuck:

... my best save was run using 250 though 👍

Thanks Mr. P!

I will try these out right away! I've been traveling on business, but I called in sick today so race on!

Thanks again,

Bryan

No probs mate! just ignore the PAL gamesave as i see you are in the US, and take one of the NTSC whichever one you have either xport or maxdrive, and dont forget to uncrush it to the memory card if you are using maxdrive 👍

Well, thanks to the help of the great people on this forum(KLR142, Mr P thanks again) I can add my splits to the board:

T1: 30.007
T2: 54.259
T3:1'16.925
lap t1="30007" t2="54259" t3="76925"

Hopefully it won't be too long before my own game save is up to the challenge of owning all of these cars!

Bryan

Okay!

Next set of splits

lap t1="29209" t2="51943" t3="73812"
Better than I thought I'd be able to do...

Another session proved most valuable, except I feel there is another.2 out there, but I think these will likely be my best splits for the week 👍 so after about an hour and half total:

Top Speed 210:
T1 - :27.422
T2 - :48.635
T3 - 1:09.063
Final - :yuck:

I'm still comin' after ya "Captain Ron"...Ron..??? Wait For Me! haha...

LB Updated, lemme know if you are on a DS2 or Wheel allshonogo and GL out there!

Jerome

After a long session with 230 top, lost about .2 in the 3rd sector but the rest was pretty good for me :) Damn Jerome, givin Ron a run for his money heh? Not easy to catch the Captain on the alps.

27.617 / 49.037 / 1'09.915

I'm gonna run it some more tonight as the Holiday may take the rest of my time up on this one.

Thanks for the help, Ron. I of course still have to brake a little where you're flat out, and brake a lot where you break a little, but it helped anyway. :)

27.743
49.579
1'10.848

A sloppy finish, but I hope to have one more session before deadline.

I ran a few laps to try Mr P's 250 gearing. Though it doesn't make me faster than I was with 200, it provides more stability and so I can do more laps without crashing.

0'27.532
0'48.625
1'09.859
not a great finish (my previous one was better)

edit:
some more:
0'27.648
0'48.492
1'09.073
a much better last sector than before. My first sector was not good, though. I can get a 27.0 and that would allow me to get 47.8 and 1'08.4. With Jump_ace's third sector, 1'08.2 is possible, but I can't manage it yet.

lap t1="27648" t2="48492" t3="69073"

Well, after some woodshedding with the license tests to get a better grip on rally racing (no pun intended) I did a little better.

BTW: Is it better to keep editing one post with better times or post new every time you better your splits? Perhaps edit if no one has posted since the last time you did?

Anyway,

lap t1="28967" t2"51838" t3"73616"

the rule is against double posting meaning that you never should make a new post if your own post is the last one of the thread.

the board EDIT updated up to post 57 60 64 75

Found that I need to brake more rather than less to improve my times:
28.252
50.716
1:11.611 (that's a lot of 1's)
lap t1="28252" t2"50716" t3"71611"

Finding some improvement but not enough to change my standings. Family goes back to Ohio today and I take my Dad back to Baltimore, so maybe when I return I'll have some time to do some serious driving!

Mr P, you're flying my friend, don't think I'll ever have the talent to make alien status but, we keep trying!

First splits to report, with a lot of room to improve.

29.210
53.303
1:14.807

Still have a couple days to try and work this one out. Having the most trouble with the second sector. Have seen consistent 28.8XX T1's.

May be the best I'm going to do, still not great but I'm not a big "dig in the dirt" guy.:nervous:

28.959
52.594
1'14.354

t1="28959"
t2="52594"
t3="74354"

Might have time for another run tomorrow.:grumpy:

Time submitted. No time for more this week.

After the third session I'm down to:

27.879
49.350
1'10.239

Nice race Erik. 👍 So nice to go sideways om a wide track. :D

Cool, glad you liked it Niels :) and by the looks of those spilts you laid a good one down to boot 👍

I'll be turning my times in now also as I have company for the weekend. I had a few 48.9/48.8 t2 but could never link it to the last two sectors of this run.

27.787 / 49.340 / 1'09.729

GL to all still on the war path.

It's been kinda busy with the holiday and all so have managed only a couple of sessions.

28.346 / 50.730 / 1:11.441

t1="28346"
t2="50730"
t3="71441"

Erik - great combo 👍

Welcome to the WRS -

I'll try to field these since it's already late in the day over in Europe and I'm sure you would like to try and run today -

1. Information on this race is posted by Sjaak at the top of this thread. Just go to the first page and you should see all of the details. This run is in arcade mode, hot lap. So you are shooting for your best possible lap in time trial. Times you see posted on this thread are splits only, so use these as a guide and don't post total lap times. :)

2. Some others have mentioned having trouble with this. Be sure you load your GT Mode game save. Some have mentioned having to get in the car or pick it as a favorite in GT mode. If you do not own the car and only have it available for purchase in GT Mode, you will need to buy the car in GT mode to make it available in arcade mode. If you don't have enough money to purchase, you can either try and earn it, or use one of the full game saves posted in other areas of this site. There is some information on this in last week's race thread, as there were two 1.3 million credit cars last week. Hopefully one of these things works for you. 👍

New splits for me to report -

28.370
51.588
