cool! gt mode at last
dono about the car tho, that's a real pain ...

EDIT attention please: it's been noticed that there are 2 versions of this car. there's one that you buy and one you win in the premier sports lounge. either one has stripes (rear df to 50) and one has no stripes (rear df to 35).

Yeah,yeah
Moan and whine all you want this week.
It doesn't care me anymore.

From next week on, Sphinx will be host of the weekly races again.

This car is a nightmare to drive without a wing! :scared: I tried a few laps, and my best T1 is a 33.8. No complete races yet...

Im not even going to post my T1, considering you ran a 33.. Practice makes perfect right. lol

post away. CMir is insanely fast as a guideline, so D2 should be hitting a 35.xxx and D3 for a 36.xxx. When you see a 34.xxx, you know you're getting there. But we need times for the board, so post away.
Is the format for luxy then just the t1's for each lap? Or are we also to post the sum? [Mathematics notwithstanding]

Thanks, but I don't think this split is that fast. It's the best I've done, but I feel this can go lower (I just have to figure how to do it). The first corner is extremely important and very hard to get right (ideally taken at 260 kmh and accelerating right after braking). Maybe the difference is on the setup. I found this and it doesn't seem bad, although I get the sensation I could go much faster (must be due to not having wing, the high-speed corners become really hard). About lower divisions doing 35's and 36's, I don't think the difference will be that big, this track is short after all. ;)

I've done some changes to this setup: aids 0-1-0, no LSD and I tried raising rear ride height and rear stabiliser, which made all corners better except for the last one (but it shouldn't be due to this change, I remember doing it really well in my best lap)

Good luck to everyone 👍

Well, my best run on that set-up is 34.668. Maybe I'll try it sober.:sly:
I do love this car. American Muscle without restraint. So real-time.
Thanks for the link!

So far T1 is 35.486. I know there is obviously alot of time left to be had, but im just not used to driving something this loose. The GT is also decievingly fast and it shows.

Ok I was definitely hesitant about this combo after the terrible experiences in license tests. I did keep in mind the fact that it was on the High Speed Ring and that can usually change everything. I was way wrong. This combo after getting some initial settings dialed in is great. I'm definitely taking the arcade mode approach right now and have only been dialling in a few settings with the car and making huge gains in the overall smoothness and drivability. I ran about 20 or so laps/ half laps to things settled in for gearing. I think I have it most of the way dialled within a range I'll need to work with. Anyways splits

lap 1-34.884
lap 2-35.100

I almost beat my 1st lap time just exiting the corner just after t1 so much better but didn't exit the final one with enough speed. Oh well I have a feeling this week will be much better than the last couple.

33.972
33.988

Not my best splits but my best total. Still got a lot of work to do on the car as i think it sucks right now, like power on understeer and power off oversteer :S

Is the format for luxy then just the t1's for each lap? Or are we also to post the sum? [Mathematics notwithstanding]
righty-o. no sum needed as luxy does that math itself for multilappers.
still need an answer from the steward about the car choice - with and without stripes are both fine or need we pick one of both?
board init EDIT update up to post 26
cmir's link to the gtvault is what i've been using also sofar. i think it's up to aids, lsd and ride height settings to perform well this week.
remember that you can even set lsd settings when it's not installed.
EDIT first clean laps arriving ... 👍 34.741-33.891
looks like i got myself a nice little setup derived from the vault and cmir's comment and my own gut feeling ... no more unpredictable oversteer crashing anymore LOL. now i need some consistency. for now i even beat michael for fastest t1 :D:P but for how long :scared:

In watching replays the hp is displayed as only 625 but parked in the garage it says 666. I'm using a car without stripes. This is my first gt mode event and I have questions. After looking at the vehicle modification specs, does that mean we can change any/everything we want, just no other hp increases. Just want to check before making changes from the gtvault. I'm also racing under the GT mode/original circuits/ high speed ring/ practice. Seems correct.

kenny,
you're right. you are welcome to make any modifications to the car other than those that influence the hp figure that should say 666 (mod sheet while prepping for the race) and 625 in the replay screen. e.g., don't add na3, race chip, race exhaust etcetera. the oil thingy you should watch, because after using the car for a while the hp figure drops down considerably (i just saw a 655 after quite a few starts) and you should change the oil again to get back to 666. after you've used the car for lots of time the hp figure drops because of wear & tear and even reoiling won't fix that.
practice = free practice = free run, that's all the same. just make sure you get over the s/f rightaway and don't have any other cars on the track at the same time.
about the stripes/no stripes issue i can't give any advice. all i know is that my striped one has the rear downforce = 50 option when fitting a wing while the no-striper only goes to 35, so there must be a difference between those cars other than that?
also don't forget to save the full replay rather than the ghost replay like you might have become accustomed to in other wrs races, because this is a multilapper rather than a hotlap race.
when using a gtvault setup remember that the tuning options used there are often different such as a fitted wing and the softest possible compound. some say start default and adjust what you don't like, others - such as myself - rather start off using the best gtvault setup you can find for the track and then adjust that one to taste.

good luck 👍

good luck 👍
Thanks for the tips and here are my t's to another very interesting combo.

34.827 / 34.884

Another oval (sort of) to fill the NASCAR void. Thank You. I hear the GT is going into the ALMS this year. GT1 I think. Hope to see it at Lime Rock this year.

That car without stripes,

what is the exact name of the car?

Aha,
I found one stripeless GT '05 in my garage.

The specs are the same as a car with stripes and I think both GT cars are the same.
And since I don't want to test if there is a difference between them and to rule all possible benefits out...........The price car is illegal from now on.

So any one who owns a Ford GT '05 without stipes.............

buy one with stripes.💡

Also.......................... anybody who speakes again about the Stripeless GT will get a kneeshot.:dopey:

I bought a GT '05 just to avoid this kind of problems and what happened?

Damn PD.

The name is exactly the same.
I have about ten 05 GT's in the uber garage, with and without stripes, with different colors and all the 05's are called the same. I decided to buy a new one with stripes and use that. I believe it is also the only one available to buy. It's about 150,000 credits. I went with yellow. Maybe others should buy the car to clear up any confusion. Plus its new.

During the making of this reply Sjaak has answered ,so thanks Sjaak.

I've been driving the one depicted in the first post all along ;)

No complete race yet but I'm running in the 33.8 - 40.0 range, takes a little bit of tunning to get the car running how I like it, ah gt mode :dopey:

Nice combo sjaak!! 👍 :)

After a few

34.242
34.306

Lots of work to be done with tuning. :)

luxy update up to post 30 33 --- still fastest t1 of all WTF???
EDIT removed text from pictures to comply with the steward's wishes 👍

to make life easier for our retiring wrs steward and just for the fun of it i made some pictures ...

the first two is where i went in this odd car before tuning it and making it stick to the asphalt:

wrsweek142results2.jpg

here i met sjaak and jerry on the track, don't know who is who tho
wrsweek142results3copy-1.jpg

and here i found my car sawn in two after which i miraculously got it back into one piece again :ill:
wrsweek142results4.jpg

sorry to bore anyone mates :)

first runs... 34.267 and 34.307. Still plenty of time left out there. I am having same problems as RenTec... don't know how much time I will have to try to tune either as it then just drags down your HP. Overall, rather fun to drive!! I think the R2's give it a nice challenge.

I spent last night tuning and just trying to stay on the pavement.

I felt horrendously slow and sloppy running 34.0 to 34.2's (including a few 33.9's and one 33.818) and then saw everyone else's times - maybe slow and sloppy is all this car has.

Still have yet to put two laps together though.

Mid to high 34's, the best I can come up with. Getting two clean laps back to back? Hmmmm, not here, not yet, maybe not ever!!:banghead:
