Important notice:
To streamline the WRS administration process, all replays for this race must be submitted within 7 days. This thread will be listed as "Unofficial" and will become "Official" when all posted replays have been checked. After 7 days, any racers achieving a Gold time who do not provide a replay will have their lap disqualified.

Please Note:
I will update this post during the week to include any posted replays and also keep track of which replays have been checked and by whom.

Quick Guide To Replay Checking:
  1. check the race summary, check that the tyres are Sports – Medium (S2) and that the power is 269 bhp (in replay) hp
  2. firstly, check the replay from the farthest top view (press R1 twice as soon as the race starts then X if you need to switch to the outside camera)
  3. secondly, check the replay from the same view but in reverse (press L1)
  4. if you suspect more than two wheels leave the track, freeze the replay ('Select' button) to enter photomode
  5. if you suspect contact with a wall, check the data logger for any sudden spike in the cars speed under full throttle.

Thank you Jerry for the number crunching work. Looks like you find your results picture finer than the ones we came up with  which is fine by me of course.
Another silver this week - good for my statistics. Now on from Japan to Germany for some rollercoaster up- & downhill racing :dopey:

Congratulations everyone on some close racing. After a quiet start it turned into a pretty solid turnout. It's going to be tough doing the long northern loop after this backyarder :D

Congrats to all the tops 👍 Nice one Kyle, I knew you had me the second you posted a .2x

Are setups required Jerry? A fun 2 weeks for me as I like the slipy go peds :)

If it's fine by you, then why mention it?

Yes, the results take a little under 2 hours to compile and publish (it's now 11pm). The image I used is the image I know the location of, and therefore saves me from scrolling through every page and post of last weeks race thread to find an image. If you want me to use an image, and I would like to use it, then send it to me via PM along with lap time submission.

I'm now off to deal with the results for the last two weeks, should only take an hour or so, and then I'm off to work for an hour.

Hope to get to bed by 2AM...

...if I'm lucky.

KLR, nice job on finishing atop D1. Is this your first time in the top spot up there? I so, congratulations. Of course, same goes to DJ Baker, gtbadboy, and all the other golds and podiums. 👍👍 It seems like a lot of D1 didn't submit, though, despite the great turnout in all divisions. :odd:

This one became fun for me when I finally figured out how to drive the car. Sort of. Judging by my result, not very well! I admit, before my last go at it last night, I hadn't broken 37 seconds. I could have gotten the last tenth for silver if I'd really tried, but I didn't have the time. I had a supremely lucky first corner I don't think I could have repeated. Default settings really didn't work for me, for some reason.

So after that nice turnout on the short track, we move on to a very adventurous week in a car that will literally fly, much more easily than I would like! But of course it will still be fun.

i think there should be a law on atleast posting one set of splits even if its your first, to know who is running for (E.G DJ baker) great time this is not against you but if someone is gonna run in WRS it would be nice to know whois running so that u know where u stand...

Well, I agree with you, but he did post his split in the thread before the deadline. Granted, it was three hours before the deadline, but it is there. I do advise putting your best up at least 12 hours before, for the future, DJ 👍, just so slowpokes like me have fast reference times to go by.

It would be nice for people to post splits up until the deadline, and have those splits reflected on the leaderboard. I do appreciate the great work the organizers do for these events but it seems like once the next weeks race is posted the current week is abandoned.

If it's an issue of bandwidth or hours (I know the deadline is sleepy-by time for those in Europe) I'd be happy to help out. I agree that people should be encouraged to post their splits rather than just submit a time out of nowhere at the end (and vice versa people who post splits should submit).

Congratulations to Kyle for the overall win. Congrats to DJ, and of course gtbadboy for they're division wins. Way to go Ron. 👍
Well done by all the Golds this week as well as the remaining podium spot.
Actually well done to all that submitted a time, it was fun trying to beat you all.

Will grab some replays to verify.

Well, to say I'm surprised would be an understatement. I still say I'm not a "tuner" but did work at it and did learn from it. Thanks Jerry!👍👍

Congrats to all the golds especially in DivIII. Some close racing all around and quite a lot of fun IMHO.

Now it's off to the "Ring" good luck all!:scared:

Thanks Erik. A wee bit gun shy after that mess a few weeks ago eh? :dunce:

Hey Kenny, how's the shoulder coming along? You must be well into re-hab by now eh? Hope all is well.

woweee!!! very close racing over all divisions...congrats to all gold time winners and to the podium placers also. 👍👍👍

certainly a big surprise for a 3rd place finish in amongst some great Div 1 drivers. great overall turnout gents. 👍

Hey Kevin, how's the shoulder coming along? You must be well into re-hab by now eh? Hope all is well.

My shoulder is fine Ron, but you might want to ask Kenny about his. :sly:

Seriously, though. Congrats to Kyle on his D1 win, whether or not it's his first, it would at least be his first in a while. Seems like you are quick when you want to be. Even though I've been gone for 6 years, I still consider Portland home. Nice to see a fellow Portlander at the top of the board in WRS. 👍

Congrats to Arora, you keep sneaking up that division 1 board there. Better be careful, you might make alien status. ;)

And great job by a fellow Kevin (imfaster) right on Erik's heels.

Some really tight racing in D2, congrats to DJ, Quick and Strop. 👍

Welcome to h18ant in D3. Hope to see you out on the track in weeks to come. And good work Andy, you are making a habit of this Gold and Podium stuff.

Finally, congrats to the badboy. Nice job with pulling off the sleeper win with a blitering last sector. :)

Congrats as well to all that kept this one clean. I'm hoping to break out of this mid-pack silver funk this week and push some of you fast guys along. We shall see. :nervous:

Kevin

yeah...how bout that EDK...a fellow Kevin with a silver also...great job in your division buddy. 👍

another special "Hello!!" goes out to OldDriverDan. Dan was the very first person i got aquainted with back when i first started racing online...helped me out so many times when i was learning to use the Max Drive. glad to see you show up and participate Danny Boy...we should have a conference call with Quiksilver_GT again some time...lol

oops!!!...sorry for running off at the keyboard...but there's just so many great people here. could anything be better than GT brothers and sisters???? 👍👍👍

I've barely had time to race lately, let alone pay much attention to the threads or post splits. Made time to race the last couple weeks because it was GT Mode. I just go as fast as I can, regardless of whatever everyone else is doing. I'll definitely be putting some time in this week, since The Ring is the reason I bought a PS2 in the first place, so I'll make it a point to post some splits earlier.

NTSC replay attached. It's my first D2 win, so I'm happy regardless of the complaints. I can post settings once I get a chance to check them, if anyone is interested.

Congrats to the other winners & podium finishers! 👍

Thanks everyone! Wasn't sure that I'd be at the top of things, even not including Dan(holl01). I was forgetting that he doesn't currently have a Maxdrive and wouldn't be able to submit regardless. But I didn't know that I wouldn't get pipped at the line. Glad I didn't! It HAS been a while.
Is this your first time in the top spot up there?
Nope! Only the third time though, I think, maybe 4th?

Here was my first time(also GT Mode...):
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rZ8Cqq5nyZM

See the results thread here:
https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=89411

You can bet I was pretty proud of that!!! I think I have a slight edge when it comes to GT Mode, and how much time I put into a week really determines where I end up in the D1 results. This week I logged 299.1 miles on my Black Devil. I'll have to get a picture up later this week sometime.

Here's my setup, for those curious. Whittled with it a LOT the first day I went at this combo, then the second time(when I managed my best lap) I only did a couple of minor changes.

Brake balance 9/10

Springs 15/12
Ride height 98/100
Bound 7/6
Rebound 8/7
Camber 1/.2
Toe 0/-1(not sure if that did what I wanted or not, but I went with it anyway)
Stabilizers 5/2

Gearing is a custom mix based off of my own style of tranny trick I came up with in GT2, more on that later if anyone's interested. It basically makes the lower gears taller, thus having the upper gears closer together, and making lower gears more useable on higher HP cars(not that this one is high HP by any stretch).

No aids

LSD 15/15/5

I'll get my replay posted on Thursday when I go over to Jerome's place. I had to give Pat(Tuff240) his Maxdrive back after his last trip up to Portland in early March. Maybe we'll be able to get a video made for everyone to view? We'll see.

I do advise putting your best up at least 12 hours before, for the future, DJ 👍, just so slowpokes like me have fast reference times to go by.
Well, you just have to shoot for people in a division above you then! :sly: Sometimes even I'm not able to play a combo until the last few hours. If I haven't started playing until the last few hours, I can't really post splits earlier in the week, eh? Sometimes our schedules just work that way. I totally understand how it feels to lose a position you were expecting to have by someone who either didn't post their splits at all, or posted them close to submission time. But then again, someone who's farther back in the splits can always improve their time at the last second too, so... 👍

Portland is the BEST! 👍👍 I love this place.
Made time to race the last couple weeks because it was GT Mode.
Glad to hear it, and CONGRATS man! I knew it wouldn't be long before you did well in D2, you definitely hung out in D3 for too long. :sly: 👍👍

Thanks again everyone! Give yourselves a pat on the back for hanging in to this one and giving it a go, it was a GREAT combo to play with. Once you got used to braking at a certain point, it wasn't half bad at all. :) Having a bit more grip than last week definitely helped with things.

And a BIG thanks to Jerry for providing me with the opportunity for a win with an awesome combo. 💡:) w00!

Wow, I didn't expect that result for my first week, must be luck???!!!!! I'll get my replay posted very soon!

Hi, here is my replay. As I'm using a PS3 i've had to convert it from psv to max. Please can you let me know if it works?

I just viewed arora's, DJ Baker's and gtbadboy's replays.
All clean and with the correct specs. Thats a double on badboy. To arora, thanks for checking.
I would say arora had his car go through the first turns with less slide and had the better t1 to go with it.
My style was more like DJ's . And DJ nice slide through the last turn.
For gtbadboy, what can I say, you whooped me man, nice run and you deserve the win. 👍
I should say nice first week for h18ant too. Well done, don't keep it up. :)

To answer your question gtbadboy, the shoulder is getting therapy 3 days a week (I've had 5 already) and is becoming more mobile. The pain during therapy can be quite excruciating at times. Its good its only for about 20 seconds each rep, but it on a scale of about 10. I should have somewhat total mobility in a month's time, after which I need to build the muscles back up. Right now I can only wash my hair one handed, but I can eat with 2 hands. No wheel for a while. Couple weeks??

That's good news Kenny. I think I mentioned I went through the rehab thing when I broke my ankle. I think they are all related to the Marquis d' Sade eh? Keep at it mate and you'll be back kickin' butt in no time. 👍👍👍

Here's Andy's replay for your reviewing pleasure. I already checked it, and as far as I'm concerned it's clean and green ! 👍
