Let's see, when is a combo a supercombo to me:

lots of tarmac - check
fast car but not too fast - check
soft rubber - check
fr or 4wd setup - check

Looks like to this cherrypicker :dopey: it's gonna be a cool week :) also because Luxy is gonna be a walk in the park compared to 155.

Looks simple and fun, Apricot Hill is great 👍

Arcade-Mode / Suzuka Circuit*

Am I predicting a GT4+GT5P week? :mischievous:

LUXY INIT on fake t's. Well in fact they are my t's from the previous time Ap Hill was used in week 130 while driving the Jag XJ220 racer.EDIT first t's: 11.852 - 25.872 - 51.692 @ gearing 290 and no aids of course.

Good luck to all this week and make sure you'all have just as much fun with this combo as I'll have. Car and track are great, no 4WD understeer at all, and the compound mix is just so that you'll be at the tip of your seat every lap all of the lap

You're speaking right to me on this one Jerry, where you at Kyle? You owned me here in Seattle at Bobkarts last time, wanna race? :sly: (Granted if you have to move I totally understand bro)....oh wait GT5P comes out this week...whats a poor guy to do 💡 DO BOTH!

Jerome

First attempt - the 4WD understeer I get with this car is not impressing me. But that's probably just my driving style. I feel painfully slow, like I don't know how to take a proper racing line without drifting wide into the grass. 290 gearing.

T1 - 11.718
T2 - 25.228
T3 - 50.901

EDIT: Still not comfortable, but this was .5 faster.

T1 - 11.762
T2 - 25.130
T3 - 50.552

I was not sure what to expect from the mismatched tyres but it seems to help with understeer a little.

11.839 / 25.186 / 50.411

I messed up the hairpin and lost a little but the end was o.k.

I did my taxes earlier today, I think I can spend some time celebrating and putting off the packing up by playing some GT4... You going to give me some competition? :sly:

1st splits for me.

T1 - 11.661
T2 - 25.281
T3 - 50.898

Need to treat this car with kids hands. I also found that I have to be very patient with the trottle on the exits, otherwise it'll cop massive understeer :( ..

Ran probably 15 laps and managed to stay on the track for about 5 of them. First splits from Div3 will put me at the bottom of the board and the top of the division. :dopey:

This car doesn't like the rumbles much, either. You can make your way to oversteer in a hurry if you manage to hit them the wrong way. :nervous:

On 290 gearing, with no 2nd gear.

11.842
25.648
51.217

Wayne,
Before you get too involved with this combo, can you please PM me and explain why you feel it's OK to ignore the requests to submit your replay for WK152, ignore my comments in the wk152 thread, and ignore my PM to you. If you can explain your actions and I'm satisfied with your explanation, then perhaps I'll allow you to race here again.

Just because it's now in the archive, doesn't mean that's it's forgotten.

You certainly have a nerve to post here as if nothing has happened.

PM sent

and I know I did a bad thing. But I didn't ignore you. I explained myself in the PM and only discuss this in PMs please.

board updated
Looks like this week will show some real close driving ... great!
Can someone help this craplapper how to approach the final chicane please? Sometimes I run a great lap but then screw up everything by either standing still or eating sand there :grumpy: thanks :)

I took the morning off because I can :P While waiting for a store to open with gt5p I ran a few more and got the hairpin right. Depending on how things go I might be able to clean up another .3 or so...

11.754 / 25.184 / 50.189

Steven, hug that left rumble untill the last moment then tap the brake as you go into the chicane and a quick lift in the middle, that's how I do it anyway 👍

First splits, 300 gearing:
11.745
25.463
50.747
About half a second left overall, 50.1 is probably too good for my skills with DS1.

Yeah, I want to try racing between GT4 and GT5P this week, just to feel the differences 👍

Jerome

Ok, guys, this was my only chance to try this combo before leaving tonight for a nice trip to Europe !

I did my best, even interrupting my best lap to put back my baby in a safier place that the frame of my cockpit. Now she knows how to move around with her legs, so hard for me to concentrate :)

So after 4 laps:

T1: 00,12,339
T2: 00,26,372
T3: 00,52,221

And my time will be submitted soon to sphinx...

Have fun to do your best...

ROFL This brings back memories of riding to school and seeing the middle aged housewives in their dressing gowns and fluffy slippers waiting patiently for the the local liquor shop to open :)

Having said that I'll be ... ahem ... going out for a drive at lunchtime ... ahem ... to do a little shopping.

My name is Strop, and I play Gran Turismo :)

That is funny, my name is Erik and I was born playing gt. While I did not wear fuzzy slippers I did go out and get the game, in my mits right now 👍

Thanks buddy, I'll give it a try right after this.

LUXY update

BTW great time you set there Erik 👍 but still esh's t1 remains the one to beat :)

Again like many other WRS combos, in this week even T3 will not determine the final standings 'cos of the final chicane.

T1 doesn't count for much at Apricot Hill, it's usually better to sacrifice a couple of tenths at this split in order to get a better line into the next corner.

I decided to run this week.
T1: 11.680
T2: 25.053
T3: 49.923
I see some tenths between T1-T2,but I can't build up the whole lap.

Final run
T1 - 11.913
T2 - 25.471
T3 - 50.614

wickid combo 👍

wayne

pretty nifty combo this one, short sweet but very technical, had a decent hours worth and compiled a lap with splits
11.587 (.491 once with good next corner compensation)
24.923
didnt note the last split , appologies

Good combo Sphinx. 👍
This one is easier to keep on the track then recent past combo's. For me anyways.
Did you first try the combo with mediums tires and then change the fronts to softs? The car seems to still push a bit in the corners and with front mediums it would push more. Just curious.

First splits for this week.

11.867
25.716
51.935

I started with Super Hards and worked my way down. It was very close to being Meds front & Hards for the rear, but I went all soft on you guys at the last minute and changed it. ;)
